Huge shoutout to my father, who aggreed to be the model for this video ! In short, Dubák is recon camo from 1950s, produced in 2nd czechoslovak republic. It's heavilly inspired, almost copied german late WW2 Leibermuster camo, made on german WW2 machines which were moved in ČSSR as war reparations. I know the example shown in the vid doesn't mask that much anymore, you gotta realize that since ...

This is a short tutorial on how to create a simple, soviet meshok/sidor inspired backpack in very short time. Bottles on the outside freeze .
I love forest stalking . What was the climb like . How high ?
How did you managed to drill into the helmet? I am trying to do this on my steel helmet, but still no success
It was... PAINFUL. Had my father help me, what worked in the end was - taking a steel puncher with pointy tip and gently tapping hammer on it in the spot where i wanted to drill. That made a little dent which made my drill bit not dance around. But yeah, it was hell. Good luck with it, mr crusader.
oh, i just remembered. My father welded a tiny piece on the spot, because if i remember his words correctly, welding makes the targeted spot softer. Which can be seen at 0:46
But it's always better to be in Czechia for real: eat well and drink good beer!

Very Nice Chest rig and well thought out. overt the years I have come to the conclusion that for most purposes I am not a big fan of them. I tend to prefer either belt systems or tactical assault vests. I actually have a Czech vest for my VZ-58 in the "woodland" pattern (sorry I have forgotten the designation for it.). I cross posted this video to a couple of different sites.
@@winkleried we have the vz95 camo, which is very close to american vietnam era woodland. But hey, thanks for sharing this ! 💪🏻
@@winkleried and as i later just made a community post, later i added thin straps to the pouches for better mag securing. On this original design, the mags sometimes felt too loose
@@foreststalkerbrothers That’s the one.
hello from china! I'm interested in collecting Czech/Czechoslovak gear from this period, I saw a video of the Leopoldov prison uprising in 1990 and was wondering what sort of vests the police/military? were wearing, i wonder if you could help in identifying it for me? thank you in advance!
Hello to China from Czechia ! When it comes to police, i would look for a vest "MARS". For example, "MARS model TV-195", or also made by MARS, "Taktik T-95". As i looked at Leopoldov, i see quite alot of recycled gear left over in ČSSR by USSR soldiers. The raindrop camo they are wearing is called "VZ60" on some people. Quite some number of "Vityaz" helmets with face shields, with "Kirasa" vests. I think one of the ones i saw was "Kirasa 3M-5". Hope i helped a tiny bit in your collecting !
@@foreststalkerbrothers awesome, thank you very much for this, I'll have a look into them!

Does it work with an fp-5
@svarnokkvi sorry for late response, yes it should be just fine
I thought Czechs and Poles hate Russians. Or more like hate previous Russian regimes the Soviet Union and may be Russian empire.
Perfect! To be fair , nice looking place 😊

Very nice video. This reminds me of the time where i started out sewing. Here are a few tips that helps me sewing that i learned over the years: I use sewing clips to fixate two pieces of fabric, binding tape or folding over a edge. They take time to apply but i get way more precision when sewing. I also use a chalk pen and engineers measuring tools for markings. If im not sure about measurements or a design then i buy a cheap pouch from aliexpress and then i reverse engineer it and take measurements from it and recreate it in my favourite camo.
Do you have a source of East German stricttarn fabric anywhere?
@@OliverinHouston buying cheap army tarps...
Here in the states, a tarp is about $80.
Amazing again. Thank you for the blueprint. I have a VZ58 myself and know about the Problem with AK Pouches. Will try to make a Chestrig quite like yours. Also in local cold war camoflage of course... 😁
@@HptfwO vz60 jehličí is cheap. Other cold war camos from čsla will cost you a fortune 🥲
@foreststalkerbrothers No worries, I live in Switzerland and can get the swiss "Leibermuster" by the Meter for less than a fortune. 😅 Still not sure what the backing should bei, but maybe I try old Jeans for stiffness. Love vz60 anyway. Maybe get a Set one day.
Never thought to source the surplus materials to innovate custom designs! Brilliant!
Опа, наш слоняра. Barvikha and Butan are ones of the most charismatic camos and I love them both. But getting Butan in present time is extremely hard (and even hard to find with cheap prices), but get Barvikha much more easier (especially in Russia and Belorussia). And as I saw, you have Barvikha in so-called "gorchichka" color sheme? I have simple one - one of the best variants with green and dark-purple (yes, dark purple instead brown, this color even get from very rare Soviet experimental "Barvikha" patterns) and mustard main color. Not so bright and "eye-bleeding" patterns like it was in middle and late 1990th from some fabrics. And it still pretty good camo in our time and pretty solid working in enviroment (unless, of course, if you have a camouflage of bright and even "acidic" shades). Still strange that it was changed to "Flora" (I personally don't like it - not so cool).
I mean, where i live, a butan set - by the same guy i got the vsr93 set from, he had butan set in same price. I think here in CZ, soviet butan isn't that rare. Ironically, ukrainian or estonian is very rare here
@foreststalkerbrothers earlier I lived in Ukraine and could tell some differences, that it's a bit easy and also hard to miss place Russian "Butan" and Ukrainian "Butan". Russian Butan mostly based on Soviet camo scheme, but has gradation from green and "brick" colors to bright brown and dusty. While Ukrainian "Butan" has more different colors (different shades of olive, brown, green), but in time it was manufactured on Soviet camo scheme, and on own Ukrainian scheme (bigger size of camo spots). And than "Dubok" incoming and manufactured with "Soviet" "Butan" and "Ukrainian" "Butan" till 2014. Barvikha, anyway, charismatic and really makes difference from other ex-USSR armies. Has a Belorussian copy also. Smol fact: all uniform manufactured in Russia till the end of 1993 have shoulder straps 14,5 cm length - after 1994 all shoulder straps length get 11 cm. While Ukrainian, Kazakh, Uzbek and some other countries still used 14,5 cm shoulder straps until Afghanka-type uniform changed to something modern and new.
Damn bro, you keep pumping out the videos lately
@@pixythegunner took a whole week off at work so i could focus on it.

Question- do you ever use these with live ammunition or just airsoft mags for examples? I ask because these pouches/rigs will act entirely different with the weight/load of live ammo..
@@Bergmann.Alaska i use real mags to make my stuff, learned that the airsoft ones i used to use are shaped differently. and for the purpose of workshop, i got a box of "school ammo" which is just the casing and bullet itself, so i know im missing just few grams on overall weight of the powder and primers
@@Bergmann.Alaska fun fact. Here in Czechia, an airsoft vz58 mag is 4x more expensive than the real one.
