Project Wild Earth
Hong Kong
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ก.พ. 2022
We are a family of four embarking on an overland journey that will take us across 100+ countries in Jane, our Grenadier. The aim is to help preserve and protect our wild earth. The project will contribute to higher levels of biodiversity meaning healthier and more resilient ecosystems. We will curate a collection of stories told by rangers, local people, members of government, NGOs, and corporations, as well as self-starters, entrepreneurs, and others we meet on the road.
It is through these stories that we will shine a light on, and support various social and environmental impact projects with our time, skillsets, network, and ideas. We will inform and educate people about the challenges our planet faces and how they can get involved. We will offset our entire journey through our membership and partnership with Mossy Earth.

GREATEST Overland Trail in the World? | EP14
Episode 14 - While most travelers come to Tajikistan to drive the Pamir Highway - the second-highest highway in the world - we may have just discovered an overlanding trail that rivals some of the best on the planet. It’s wild, remote, and feels frozen in time.
Known for its epic landscapes and isolated villages, the Bartang Valley is also notorious for its dangers - landslides, unpredictable rivers, and elevations above 4000 meters. This hidden gem of the Pamirs is not for the faint of heart, but for those who crave adventure, it’s an experience like no other. This is one adventure you don’t want to miss!
Please note: This trail can be very dangerous and could easily be one of the hardest trails in the world if conditions are not in your favour. Approach with caution and be fully prepared.
If you'd like to know more about us, Project Wild Earth, and how this all came about, click here: projectwildearth.com/ For our journey, we are driving Jane, our INEOS Grenadier, and live in a Patriot X3 Trailer so we can travel off-road to remote locations and be off-grid for long periods of time.
Thank you for coming along on our journey!

Having been on the road for years the number 1 thing I can recommend is getting packing cubes for the clothing. Allows you to keep it all together and accessible quickly. Plus when you stop and move into a house to take a break you only need to grab the cubes and not actually pack bags. Love the channel and just found it so little binge watching about to happen.

It truly is an amazing place! Glad you enjoyed the video! As for the sketchy stuff, conditions were in our favour this time around.. imagine what it’s like when they go against you, water levels rise rapidly, landslides occur and you’re at pretty high elevations… it can get very dangerous, very quickly. Anyone who attempts this should really think about it beforehand.

just come across your channel. Wow the scenery in this video is amazing. One question which is always on the back of my mind and I am sure might have been asked before. What haopens if you break down in some of the remote parts of your drive?
@@vancraft_chronicles Glad you liked the video and the scenery! Like you say, it’s an amazing part of the world. Glad to have you following along! If you break down in a remote area then you come up with a plan of how you going to get yourself and your family out of the situation or resolve it with the resources you have available. It’s like anything really. Remain calm, think logically, make a plan, sleep on it if you can and then execute it. If it doesn’t work, adapt the plan and try again. Keep doing that until you’re in a better situation. We always think survival first and have more than enough protection, water and food to survive for quite a while before it becomes an issue. This gives you a level of comfort because whatever comes your way, you have some time to think about it. You have to have the self confidence in your own problem solving skills that you can get yourself out of any situation you put yourself in. If you don’t, maybe don’t put yourself in those situations. Saying that, you can end up in them unintentionally. If you look at it from a life perspective, whatever comes our way in our own lives, we usually find a way to overcome it, eventually. Just apply the same logic. You can help yourself massively by preparing properly for what you’re about to do. 6Ps comes to mind. Prior Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance 👍 That includes quite a few things on trips like this but it’s all doable with a bit of research and thought. You need to be practical though. You can’t bring everything for every eventuality. That makes no sense in terms of weight and space and you’ll also never think of every eventuality. Experience is the greatest teacher and you only get that by doing it and putting yourself in those situations. You can do all sorts of preparation courses that may help too. Matt actually used to run his own Adventure Academy which covered all of this.
I am from India and enjoy this video best wishes to all of you❤

As a newer make of vehicle, what is the support network for a Grenadier when you are in these countries you are traveling to. Land Rovers and Toyota products are generally well supported.
@@alanmohn4146 In all honesty, once you’re out of Eastern Europe, there’s very little apart from the Middle East and so you’re largely on your own.. China have just opened up which is good and apart from that you’d be looking at South Korea or Taiwan as we understand. There were grand support plans before we departed and it looked as though there was going to be a lot more support by now, based on the proposed plan, but unfortunately that didn’t materialise. So we are where we are and just have to make it work. Our original dealer in Skipton back in the U.K. have been great and so have the Sofia dealership in Bulgaria. We’re largely reliant on airfreight and the joys of international postage and customs… not ideal but we’re hoping over time, things improve. This was also why we started in Europe initially. There’s apparently also a Flying Spanner service if you’re really stuck and remote and we’ve heard that’s already been used successfully in a few places around the globe which is encouraging. We’d love to see their faces if we have to go that route and provide some of these GPS coordinates for where we find ourselves! 🙃 It’s all part of the fun!
