You ever feel surprised when you learn something entirely new? For example, I really like new music, but this old music sure was new to me. this is a short doc about Viktor Tsoi (Ви́ктор Ро́бертович Цой), and his band Kino (Кино́). Over 8 years, Kino wrote and recorded over 80 songs on 7 albums. Virtually unknown outside of Russia, Kino changed the course of history through their iconic hits: H...

I have to disagree with the framing that viktor would have wanted the Soviet Union to collapse though. The Soviet Union was corrupted and he probably wanted to see change, not for the entire union to collapse. His artwork “strike the enemy,” shows he was probably a communist himself

We got our change, and it was horrible! It traumatized whole generation. Organized crime, human trafficking, western “democracies” stripping us of our natural resources and human dignity! If it wasn’t for Stalin’s nukes and VVP’s great leadership skills we would have ceased to be a nation. I think change killed more of our people than Hitler’s Germany, still killing!

I wonder if Metallica actually realized what an amazing move they just made when they decided to choose one of Kino's songs to perform live in Moscow in 2019 (song name: "Gruppa""krovi"-"blood type"). They didn't just perform another cover of the local rock music; they played one of the most iconic and legendary pieces of Russian music. After that, they literally touched the souls and won the hearts of the whole post-Soviet area.

really heartbreaking and i'm not sure what to say or do. some debate all day abt Viktor's politics, but in the end, Kino's music, in my opinion, must be interpreted as Anti-Imperialist, Anti-Authoritarian, and Anti-War. What kind of nonsense is this? Tsoi is a pacifist and kind-hearted. I honestly don't know about propaganda, on the contrary, everywhere on TV channels they say that Ukrainians are our brothers. Well, I don't really get into politics, I'm friends with Ukrainians (Alexey, Artyom, Grisha, Nazar, and Vika from Kiev, a man whose name I've already forgotten (I call him by his nickname in the discord) from Mariupol. There are also a couple of close friends who are also from Ukraine, but I do not know where exactly. My grandmother from Ukraine, Donbass, thank God, moved to Kursk at the age of 14.). Believe me, the Russian character is very firm and unbreakable, if someone dared to use Tsoi's songs for war, then the whole of Russia would have destroyed this someone)
