      We did the trip the last week of May. The weather was really good!. The only issue we had was that a lot of the trails only open the first week of June. We were there about 10 days too early. I would say mid June would be perfect.

      Hello, Thanks for the comment. The AOS is mostly blacktop and as I recall not really any off road to speak of. The trail gets better as you move West. Once you get to Damascus VA which is the end of the AOS you get more dirt roads. I'm sorry this is probably not very helpful.

    • @overlandadventures6763
      @overlandadventures6763 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the exact mileage that we did on each day. The BDR is designed to complete each section in one day. We started late on day one so didn't end up doing each section as planned. Here are my estimates: Section 1 is 135 miles long we did about 35 miles on day one. About 100 miles on day two (i.e. completed section one and started section two). Section two is 187 miles long. We completed Section 2 on day three, so we must have done about 100 miles on day three. We normally get going around 10am and bank on doing about 100 to 150 miles per day. It's often slow going on the trails. hope this helps.
