They are reintroducing bearded vultures to the alps. The program started in 1986 and there are 300+ birds currently back in the wild.

I've never had any real problems with Coyotes, but purely anecdotal, my old golden retriever of about 14 years old was out in Colorado in the morning. My Mom told me to grab my BB gun, becaue about 10 coyote had surrounded the dog with his back to the garage, and were closing in. We opened the door and clapped our hands, we yelled, and they ran away luckily It was probably a case of they saw my dog as weak and old, and we never had any other problems, we've never had to kill any coyotes and enjoy seeing them and hearing them at night

Not really that misunderstood, the cons of having the ones that bite far outweigh the pros. Figure out the disease issue and then and only then will anyone care about them

hot tip for protecting livestock from coyotes. guard llamas. That was what my family did on our 80 acre cattle ranch. We had about 10-12 llamas that would rotate nightly "guard duty" and coyotes were never a problem for us ever again. Makes sense seeing as they likely evolved alongside each other within human settlements. Plus llamas are dope asf and spit at anyone they decide they do NOT vibe with lmao

Remember! No matter how cute a coyote is, do not feed them! They'll become more aggressive to demand food and stop hunting for themselves. If a coyote is becoming problematic, they'll likely be caught and euthanized or shot. I swear I see so many people in neighborhoods feeding coyotes to post on the internet and then act victimized and shocked when the coyote attacks their or someone else's cats, chickens, and/or dogs.

I will think about this as I am watering the plants and they are biting my neck, face, and hands as I am wearing a hoodie in 100+ degree weather in the Summer. I am quite tired of them right now, but I will have a break of 5-6 months hopefully. I don't kill them any more because they get stuck on my hand. I especially hate it when they get in the house and they bite me when I'm doing something.

Fun mosquito fact: the mosquito used in Jurassic Park is a Toxorhynchites mosquito, which is NOT a blood feeding mosquito! It was chosen because it's larger than common blood sucking mosquitoes, thus easier to see on screen

I do not think wee need to find things ''cute'' to understand that they need to be protected. I don't think mosquitoes are cute, or even ugly. I have personal reasons not to like them, given they personally made my childhood miserable, and the species that cohabitate my hometown in central Africa were the specific ones that hurt humans. Despite all that I understand the importance they have in an ecosystem and the need to respond to them when needed in a reasonable and ecological way.

I love Vultures and Crested Caracaras! I see Turkey vultures and Black vultures and caracaras all the time! I especially see them around lakes. Black vultures particularly LOVE to bathe! I visited a sanctuary in Florida and they had hundreds of wild black vultures that stuck around for the fresh water and occasional food. They hung out with their pelicans and crocodiles and I watched them splash in the water. I'm studying conservation bio in college and my goal is to work with birds and I'd love to work with vultures. I've seen people say they're some of the most social and silly birds to work with.

also! not so fun fact about piranhas: allegedly when churchill visited south america they wanted to impress him so they got a bunch of piranhas, put them in an aquarium and starved them, then they threw a cow carcass and, obviously since they were so hungry, they ate that cow up in a matter of seconds. after that, the misinformation was spread and here we are lol
