Welcome to Trash Compactor - a channel dedicated to creating custom vintage-style Star Wars figures. Inspired by Toy Polloi and TheCrafsman 'Steady Crafting' I started repairing my childhood figures and then moved onto making customs. Lots of people do this and share photos, but no one shows you how! So this inspired me to create this channel! I hope you like what you see and consider subscribing to see more! I always strive to bring you great content and love to get feedback from my viewers.

Hi I've been your videos and I really like your customs I've been collecting star wars figures a really long time and made my share of customs I was suprised that you hadn't figured out 1 of my tricks i shove shiscabob scure into the holes in there feet like a lollipop this make it easier to paint
yankee doodle went to town riding on a pony...
The Stan Solo Astroid Droids in this video are original figures accept the R2 D2 unit ,they never were made until he released them and that in my book are original in vintage form , a lot of collectors complained of the cost of his figures but not me because I knew producing them wasn’t cheap. Hell I’m 60 and I still enjoy collecting SW vintage and custom vintage type figures and what happens down the road when I’m gone I don’t care. But SS has given much to the SW collecting community and I’m so damn happy to have them to set up w the other SW figs. 😊
Like your paint rack, I might try and set mine the same way 👍
That is a very cool Jaxxon custom figure! New subscriber here. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
When trying to straighten the arm, couldn’t you put a metal clip on it for 24 hours and stick it in the freezer ?
I have tried doing that before and it just eventually goes back to how it was.
That black one is great, I may do one of those
Do you recommend using primer at all?
I've just picked up Retro Boba Fett (Morak) and Retro Boba (Tusken) to do a partial head swap. Do you know if all Retro figures have the same head connection type?
So much easier now using your RFT Helmets. Don’t need to get any additional figures. Just need some Endor Hans. Brilliant. :)
Another great video 👍
I’ve been burned on Star Wars for a long long time, but I love this line.
Awesome video.... What is the gloss that you use? Maker/name? Thank you in advance....
Hey there the gloss and matt gloss are both Vallejo 🙂
@@TrashCompactor Thanks so much!!
Long live RETROs!!
Imagine getting these in 1999 over the crap we all waited in line at midnight for….
I would have loved to see a retro collection watto! Great set... worth every penny.
I've ordered from Steve lots of times.
More Jedi knight heads please!!!
I just want the Darth Maul figure, I like the retro collection as well I hope they continue, hoping they decide to do the last 17 figures. I think the Queen looks the best of the 6, the colours of he costume just pops. Wonder why Ben didn't come with a soft goods bath rope as well. Where's Anakin? Lol
tc, what's the ideal material for printing weapons and accessories? Is ABS sufficient? 👍
Yeah ABS would be fine, just be careful as its hard but can be brittle.
Fun stuff. I've never had to trim them. Looks like it makes it a little easier.
What’s the best thing to use for taking off the original paint?
i have tried oven cleaner, that works, some people use break fluid? there is group called custom droid stripping they use lots of things, just depends what country you are in! you want to make sure its something that doesn't melt plastic.

@@TrashCompactor Watching your video again I caught oven cleaner. Just tried it on mine and it worked great!! Thank you.
I’ve been watching a few boil and pop (pop and boil) videos and I’m wondering if the bodies are glued together or just snap fit?
I want to create a 5POA Cassian Andor in Imperial disguise. Either Imperial Officer body, or AT-AT commander seems more fitting. Just need to work out what sort of neck joint the Cassian Andor Rogue One figure has…
that's one way to make a blue leader
this is the video i needed. thank you!
The Purple one gave me a hard time too!! Well done!!
Great job, it looked like a pain in the butt to get done. Just out of interest, Did you try prizing the torso apart with pliers from the peg holes at all? You can usually tell if it will crack open or break the torso just by how the resistance feels. Would love to see you paint them. You could do them in the styles of the other pilots A-Wing style Green, B-Wing style Red, Rogue One style Blue etc with outfit specific straps and vests. That would be cool even though they are snowspeeder pilots.
You were right first time. It was Yankee Doodle and as far as I know it's in the public domain.

Hey man! So glad I found your channel. I've been a buyer of your stuff on Etsy...didn't know you had a YT channel! Instantly subscribed!!
Welcome aboard!
You've now got a bunch of LGBT village people sex wing pilot's 😵
Experts always make it look easy. 😁
I know thats why i thought it would be, and wow it wasn't!
I have seen this done with the Bobs Fett ones, makes them different, these and the Chewbacca ones are the cheapest.
Yeah they are seriously cheap plastic!
@@TrashCompactor I got my order of Luke Farmboy hat and binoculars, very happy, anyone reading this I must say go buy a set
Amazing I have never thought of that
What a creative idea for a video. They look like jelly babys. With that and the ice cream van this video made me feel quite peckish.
The Mando I got didn’t hold his blaster but could hold the dark saber sideways. I ended up putting Mando’s blaster in Fett’s holster. Bane looks cool.
That ewok is awesome
These look fantastic!
hell yeah!
Im looking forward to the Star Wars Marvel characters, the Y-wing pilot and good old BoShek.
Ooh, this should be good.
Woah, where did the name for Neeralli come from!? He's always been my favorite of the three but didn't know he had a name!
heres the names starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Neeralli
Thx, do you have a video to ‘pop’ the head on another body?
Doing one very soon :-) all pop and boil for 6 figures and then back again :-)
@@TrashCompactor much appreciated!
Cool tutorial and creative head swaps. Keep up the good work!
Do you apply a mat varnish on the figures ? How do you protect the paint ?
Yes i do now, i do matt and satin mix as it gives figs the vintage look but not soo shinny.
A Jawa “polishing his droid” is that a euphemism?!?!😂
Is that a moulded face luke head? :) Have you ever swapped a plug neck head with a plug body? So drilling out a hole in the head? Wondering if that could work?
i have done the peg in the head, drilling a hole in the head, but not done head into body drilling a hole in the body! never had the need to yet!
They really could've just released the figures back in the 90's as they were, then continued in retro instead of those awful he man style ones we got stuck with.
