You are full of crap... what people were mad was that they cut over half the pokemon from the game for no real reason...Dexit ..(they even removed the starters..leving only charizard..making him hated) For the excuse of improving graphics and animations...hence why people critizised those as so many animations were recicled as well as the models And they didnt even trully anouced it accidentally slipped out...and they tried to hide it from japanese players You are really in the "shut up and buy product" Also fans were pissed cause Gamefreak removed also for no reason not only Z moves but Megaevolution...literally the most popular mechanic in the franchise. And to this day not only the Dex mess has not been fixed but aside Arceus every game has been worse than the last...needing mayor patches...something that was not part of the franchise beforehand SV were broken at lauch...and not only BDSP were insulting with their " loyal remake" when all 3 previous remakes are concideted not nly among the best gsmes in the franchise but of their respective systems....but bdsp didnt even had its soundtrack before the patch... Is not that Pokemon fans hate pokemon or that they are Delusional is that Gamefreak unlike the rest of the pokemon company or Nintendo have becomed incompetent... All this mess happened cause gamefreak eanted to make a non pokemon rp for the 3ds and took most of the dev team to their side project

Really appreciate you trying to give another look at these games, since I think they are really underestimated and blindly hated, but I have to disagree with most of your points. These games are not really good. I know I just said they were underestimated and this seems contradictory, but it really is not. I do think they are better than people say, but still aren't among the best Pokémon games. The issue is people hate these games for all the wrong reasons, and this happens because of all the drama and controversies surrounding their release, as well as the general expectations around the first major Pokémon game on an actual HD home console (Let's Go doesn't count). It's like the combined hate received by XY and BW, and I will explain why. 1. **People want to play with their favorites**: I'm the kind of guy who always uses only new Pokémon when playing a new region, but the truth is most people who play Pokémon aren't like this. They use the same Pokémon every time, in every game they play, and there's really nothing wrong with that. It's a bad idea to try to force people to play with Pokémon they don't want to. When BW came out, the major critique those games received was not having any of the older Pokémon available during the main story. The backlash was so huge it compromised the whole image of the game, making it one of the most hated Pokémon games on release. This is kind of funny because those are some of the best games in the series, which really shows how the average Pokémon player doesn't care about game quality. A similar thing happened with Sword/Shield when they announced that the National Dex wouldn't be a thing anymore, and a lot of Pokémon wouldn't make it to the game. The National Dex cut was inevitable (although I think it really didn't need to be in Sword/Shield), but the truth is people just don't care if there's good reasoning or not. As stated earlier, they just want to play with their favorites. To make matters worse, the excuse they gave for cutting the National Dex wasn't justified in the actual game, since there were still the same old problems of reused Pokémon models and animations, with few new and better animations. 2. **Expectations were too high**: We have to remember what the expectations were like back then. This was the first ever main series Pokémon game on a HD home console (again, Let's Go doesn't count). Before that, we always got games for less powerful portable consoles. The other Nintendo games on Switch also set the bar way too high: Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8-Nintendo was releasing hit after hit, so people expected Pokémon to have a major upgrade as well, which didn't happen. Whenever expectations are too high, disappointment is the most likely outcome. Pokémon XY faced a similar fate for not being what people expected of "the first 3D Pokémon game," although those games didn't get as much hate. And that's all there is to it. Make a massively unpopular decision (cutting the National Dex) together with huge hype and expectations, and you have the formula to create something that gets hated. It didn't help that the games were average at best, and people now can hate on the game without anyone feeling the urge to defend it, since it's not even that good to begin with.

Yeah, AC2 is truly the first successful AC. It has that magic feeling, because even the side missions are worth doing. Everything is meaningful except the 100 feathers. While AC unity is just like AC1, a bland game (sellable prototype) but at least AC1 has a really strong story, music and setting especially for a first timer. AC Unity music is really bad, it sounds like "Hub and multiplayer music" instead of French music. Side missions are just filler junk, similar to Bethesda games' "radiant" quests. The map looks horribly overcrowded with chest icons. AC unity menu looks hideous compared to AC4 Black flag. Thankfully Syndicate has the AC2 menu and a female playable character. Seems Ubisoft learns but too late for anyone to actually notice.

I've always thought that SWSH is better than it's given credit for. The early basegame dex is unappreciatedly beefy, the DLC packs were great, and the wild areas being somewhat reminiscent of classic JRPG overworlds was a better way to make pokemon open world than just plopping the player into a sandbox region. The base game wasn't worth $60 though. It had basically no side content unless you were in love with Dynamax raids and those painfully barebones camping & cooking minigames. And there were so few optional trainer battles that it almost felt like they were trying to divorce themselves from the main crux of the games. Every flaw people saw in SWSH, I was optimistic that it would be smoothed out in gen 9. And while Legends Arceus imo was the best Pokemon game since Colosseum & Gale of Darkness, Scarlet & Violet is the one where the negative reception didn't feel mostly like the ranters were just scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to complain about. I remain hopeful for Legends ZA and gen 10, but like they say: "fool me once, shame on you..."

As someone who’s played pokemon games for over 10+ yrs sword and shield have gotta be one of my least favorite games. 🫠 the entire game felt as if someone dumbed it down and I found it INCREDIBLY easy to get thru and quick. It felt like your hand was being held thru the entire time. Usually they throw the ten yr old mc at a ticking time bomb to save the world but now the adults wanna handle it? 😭 I want to feel the same rage I felt going up against Whitney’s miltank. I felt like the game left a bad taste in ur mouth like the ending was dissatisfying. The region itself was beautiful and had so much potential but to be locked behind a paywall of $30 is crazy. I miss it when end game content was just free. The gold and silver games takes u to an entire other region with more badges to obtain as endgame content while sword and shield can barely scratch up more lore lmao. I will say sword and shield was such an improvement and was overall much longer in main game content! I overall enjoyed it and loved the new pokemon. The new character game models did take me a while to get used to but I felt like that game had the energy of an old school pokemon game.

if I grew up with sword/shield and scarlet/violet I would not have like pokemon nearly as much as I did playing ruby/pearl/soulsilver/black. The critical path of those older games was already fairly easy, but the handful of times I didn't get a fight on the first try made the game so much more engaging. I read all the dialogue, and I loved the story in black. These are some of my earliest memories. The games engaged me so much that I saved up my pokcket money to get black on release! You're looking down on kids as if they're mindless and can be entertained with sufficient lights and colours. Perhaps you're just jaded. These newer games are bland and forgettable, the only thing that would remotely have engaged me is the designs of a few of the pokemon and characters.

have you played competitive pokemon ever? it's extremely unbalanced! the only thing they do to balance VGC is ban event & legendary pokemon, they're certainly not releasing balance patches or doing anything that would make being able to balance the competitive game an actual concern. Pokemon stats don't even change between games!

how is half the video about a problem you hallucinated? there has never been an issue of people not using the new game's pokemon when they play the new game people weren't mad about being unable to catch 5 different "early bird pokemon" at the start of the game (something no game has had), they were mad that for the first time they can't bring the pokemon they're attached to over to the new game! On top of that, there was no clear reason for why they did this - aside from the obvious "we're churning these games out too fast and need to cut more corners". the games have always had mechanics to encourage you to play with the new region's pokemon instead of your old favourites! the old ones aren't available to catch, and even if you trade them over they won't obey you until you have enough badges. Pokemon has never had this imaginary issue of people just catching and playing with their old favourites instead of the new ones - even without these restrictions, everyone who buys the new game wants to play with the new pokemon!

I think a video about if Pokemon Go was a success or not would go hard with the right title. You can do an introspective look back and see if it has been worth it or not to play and how the game has evolved. Could be a fun video but enjoyed this video since I haven't bought a Pokemon game since Pokemon Diamond tbh since its too much money to buy a new game/device every few years since the market changes.

The only thing I can say about it is it's the first Pokémon game I've played and couldn't be bothered to finish, though I really enjoyed scarlet and violet.

this is just a really badly made video that cherry picks arguments and ignores any opposing arguments in order to make this terrible game seem good or at least decent.

I found these games honestly very entertaining over all and had fun playing them. But I see that there was a lot of wasted potential, too. Same with Scarlet & Violet. Nevertheless I will continue buying the Pokémon main games and hope that Gamefreak will in future be able to put more thought into the details.

i hate it when people say dlc is more of a cash grab then 3rd games like how can dlc be more cash grabby then a 3rd game you only buy 1 anyways just skip the 2 and only buy the 3rd and also i mostly play Pokémon for the story and yes they did have good story's gen 3 story was actually good they wanted to help people/Pokémon but went about it the wrong way gen 4 and 5 i don't need to explain and gen 7 sm usum didn't really have much of a story mostly just lore btw the lore to the Pokémon games is way more interesting then the actual games themselves

Yeah, this ain't it chief. Just gonna adress a few of the points that stick out to me. First about the visuals. Its not about graphical phadelity, it's about looking visually pleasing and not like vomit. There are a couple good looking places I admit, but when one of the main things they advertised looks the worst out of any area in the game you have to admit something went wrong. Also just straight up horrible take saying zelda looks bad or lifeless. It doesn't look realistic sure, but it doesn't have to be realistic in order to look good. There's this thing called ✨️art style✨️, where your visuals have certain style or aesthetic that makes it visually unique and pleasing. Good visuals and good graphics aren't the same. It just so happens that pokémon failed in both categories. Also about the story. Your argument is a strawman. Meaning you falsely represent what people are complaining about. People don't want at least a Black and White level story, they just want one that makes sense. Yeah kids might not care, but are you really gonna argue that it isn't better to have a good story over a bad one? And you said it yourself, most people into pokémon are adults, so the majority of their audience would like a story that at least makes sense. It doesn't have to be deep and philosophical, it just has to make sense. But you argue that they make games primarily to appeal to kids because they already have their adult audience right? Does any kid like the constant interuption of characters like Sonia, Hop and Leon just to be like "wow, this is a drawing of a sword and shield. Man this might have to do with the darkest day"? Because that is the story for 90% of this game where they repeat this information in every town you visit. Until the very end where Rose is like "ah yes I must summon this funny dragon that we just decided to introduce in the story without any hints to it's existence for an energy crisis 1000 years in the future" and then he's like "man, i did an oopsie" and you continue your challange. And don't get me started on those kings that dynamax some pokémon and whine about being kings. And about the national dex. Why should the option NOT exist to have your favorite pokémon as your party? You say the point of pokémon is to catch your faves and battle them. Well then why can't I? I can't believe your wrote this script and spoke these sentences and not realise how big of a contradiction that is. And balancing? Balancing?! You really gonna tell me pokémon has EVER been balanced? No. Not even in sword and shield. The meta was dominated by Zacian and funny crown boi. Wich btw makes it kinda unfair considering one of those DLC and the other is only in sword, so there are plenty of people that can't access them without trading. Kinda defeating your point of "well how would you feel if someone had a pokémon you couldn't acces?". It has ALWAYS been like that and they didn't fix that issue. And that stuff about animation is uet another horrible strawman. People to my understanding don't really care about the reuse of animations. It's more so that the quality of the animations hasn't improved enough compared to the 3ds. There were good animations, yes. But there were still ones that were inexcusable for a switch title. Think of double kick. Think of pokémon not actually making contact with one another. Think of most pokémon just standing still for their idle, slow breathing. Or certain flying pokémon not flapping their wings. And I am not just talking about wingull, but also Salamence, Tropius, Skarmory and Swellow (there might be others, but I just remember these because I replayed ORAS). And I will repeat this. There are good animations, but that doesn't magically make the bad ones dissappear. If you buy a basket of apples and half of them are infested with worms and the seller says "yeah but the other half isn't", is that a valid excuse? No it isn't. So why would it be here? You said yourself kids just wanna see cool looking pokemon. Can you really in good faith say these animations accomplish that? Cus I can't. Another thing you mentioned at the beginning was how we worry about these silly little small complaints while others worry about bigger issues. This is just a non argument. You're not even saying "this is good because x y and z", you're just saying "this sucks, but other things are worse". That doesn't make the thing that sucks less not suck. It just means another thing is worse. If you lost your leg and a doctor said "well you can't complain because you haven't lost both of them" would that at all be comforting? Would that at all be helpful to your situation? Would that come of as sympathetic or understanding? No, they would look like a massive douchebag. Let's look at it the other way right. It's just not constructive and just serves to let companies get away with more. As for the DLC versus 3rd versions argument I have to disagree. Third versions came out later at the same prive of the original games separately. I argue this is better than having to pay for the original and then paying again for the DLC. Because then you just have the option to not buy the originals and to just buy the good version. Additionally, DLC doesn't really allow you to fix existing issues with the base game, just add more content. In a third version they could fix the bad parts of a story while with DLC, they can expand it, but they can't really erase the bad parts. I'm not saying they should actively develop these games with the idea in mind to release a third better version later, but I think it is preferable over DLC. But I do think both are bad and have their own downsides. I also just think this two games gimmick has long overstayed it's welcome. Honestly it's just one of those things only the pokémon franchise can get away with, with such little backlash. Anyway, these were just your most horrendous points. You also forgot or chose to ignore some other issues. For example you didn't mention how boring the route design was or how the pokémon are all just mindless droids wandering aimlessly until you get close to them. Or how dumb some evolution methods are (especially considering you said these games are made with kids as the target audience in mind). Anyway, this video is trash. I rate it a glorious 3/10. It truly has a little something for everyone.

Nah, you're not wrong on the age groups and especially on the Japanese market, as so many of our beloved franchises come from Japan. Look at FF...it's gotten even more mature. The original Japanese green/red version had the old man that teaches you how to catch a Pokemon hangover from drinking and changed to needing his coffee for the West. Having lived in Japan for a few years and able to read enough of it to play the games, it feels like shit gets childish for the west. Which is weird. Oversight on game freak is that the more Mature gen 1 games came out when we were like 10, and since then they have gotten worse kid-friendly hand holding while the core audience keeps aging. Completely backwards.

Since your a tourist and dont know anything about mad max allow me to explain: This game is more authentically mad max than the 2015 film fury road. This is the closest to the original character we have gotten since Mel Gibson played him in the 1980's. The Dialogue, story, inner turmoil and conflict. The open desolate wasteland with nothing but you, your car and your wits. This throw away movie tie in game was better than the movie. It was better than most actual games that were ever made. All you need for this game is to make the progression less grindy, re-balance some enemies, Improve NPC/Vehicle AI, modify a few locations and and a few new ones to fill in the map a little bit (but not too much, needs to be open nothingness for long stretches to feel like mad max) and add some higher quality Texture/effects and this is a game of the year title with little effort.

When a game comes with a pile of 10 save slots, it's probably there for backup purposes... like if you lose/corrupt your main save, if you've been saving willy nilly in other slots then you have some options. I do that a lot with X4 Foundations. Every time I save, it's in the next slot down.

I have over 400 hours into the game, it's definitely one of my favorites but late game content without friends is definitely frustrating. The attention to detail this game has is phenomenal.
