I searched in the forums and theirs been so many good reviews on CEP fuel Line by Custom Engineered Performance from Dave but his website email doesnt seem to work. Have you heard about it? I know of LR very well and will end up getting one from them for sure. Thank you again :)

I actually am not familiar with the CEP fuel lines but it’s great to know that there’s some more aftermarket options! I decided to just order the full line and rail kit together when I did mine just so that I knew I wouldn’t run into any sort of compatibility issues. So far I think I have close to 5-10,000 miles on the Lindsey components and I’ve been very happy with them so far. I hope the videos help you out!

In this clip I didn’t have it turned on but since I had the compressor replaced the AC has been working great 👍🏻

They’re similar in the sense that they are meant to be used in the factory housings but other than that I don’t believe even the sports suspension package optioned cars had anything close to this stiff from factory unless it would have been a factory cup car with racing suspension which would probably be stiffer than this. Remember the suspension packages weren’t just inserts it was several things altogether for example bigger stiffer sway bars, different springs, different wheels and different suspension geometry all around. That’s sort of the beauty of having something aftermarket exist like this today. This would’ve been the suspension equivalent of a 944 club sport or a 944 GTS. Specs that Porsche never made. Id look at a base 944 as a 911 Carrera 2. As base as it can be. Then you’d have something like what I’ve made this car into so far. Light mods, a very small bump in power. Sports suspension package. Brake package. Now maybe you’re in the 911 Carrera S sort of vibe. Then you’d have the 2.7 944 and if you took a 2.7 944 and did all these mods then you’d have a C2S the next step would be engine modification and a significant bump in power via a cam and messing with valve springs etc. there’s your 944 GTS. Then you jump to the turbo. Then the turbo s. And the “gt3” of 944s would be the 944 turbo cup. Does that make sense?

@@TakeFlightGarage hmmm interesting I was looking at a 944 with Koni sport suspension from factory I believe (what the option codes said anyways) Very interesting to think about it like that, I suppose that makes way more sense as modern day cars like the gt3 are nearly just in a completely different league to the base model so it’s interesting to think how they would’ve named those cars back in the 80s. Makes it much easier to understand Porsches super simple naming conventions (not 🤣)

@@ireiaandso I thiiiiink if I remember correctly the cars that came with konis were only the 944 turbos as part of the sport suspension pack. The turbo and turbo S got konis and maybe the turbo cup as well. But aside from turbo sway bars and KYBs I don’t think the NA cars ever came with konis as standard. I could be wrong though! But yeah lol I’ve always envisioned this as a “GTS” build. Going leather seats club sport steering wheel MAF bigger cooling setup better suspension brakes etc. basically I’m building this car as if I were speccing it in the configurator 😅😅😅

@@TakeFlightGarage i have a black 944 2.7 liter 8valve with the phonedial wheels,and i hope that the koni setup will handle the car more,at the moment when i take a corner i have a lot of bodyroll.

@@jbfinishingsjellebilliau9054 you’ll love the konis, rewatch the video a couple times and you can get a bit of a sense of how the car behaved when I locked up and swerved. There’s almost no roll. I do have poly sway bar bushings that help with that too

@@jbfinishingsjellebilliau9054 there’s a few channels I’ve seen of people sharing their 944 experiences out there. I think the cars are actually harder to get in the first place out there and everyone just takes them to shops rather than builds them.

I’m super glad you took that picture while I had the brakes on otherwise I never would have known! So far LASFIT has been 3/3 home runs I’m gonna purchase two more sets for the taillights and the turn signals since they have built in resistors.

@@ALEXANDARRR42 I don’t think you’ll regret it at all, I can’t post sound clips for copyright reasons but if I can find a away around it I’ll post the clip I took of my first time listening to all 4 speakers together. The key regardless of the brand is that 4 way speaker trick up front and 2 ways in the back to be better at producing the lower end frequencies

Dude I love it the faster you go too the more the water just flies off the windshield. Rather than the wipers streaking it will pool the water and literally throw it to the sides. We don’t get any snow down here and I’ve been waiting to see how the yellow tint with LED fog lights would look with the water on the ground. The water reflects so much it hides the markings in rain like this and it’s really hard to see but I was SO stoked to see that the yellow actually makes a difference. I’ve been able to drive the 944 in stuff like this thanks to the LED headlights and ceramic coating. I would LOVE a set of projector fog lights though. The 80s tech just doesn’t come close. But the LASFIT bulbs I used did make a huge difference in the 944.

@@TakeFlightGarage haha yea it’s nearly like going into hyperspace! I’ve seen this same costing used on an E36 it’s cool stuff! Definitely going to consider it for myself. Ah that’s a pitty no snow here either! Maybe it justifies a trip into the mountains just to test out the lights haha. Ah yes I’ve noticed that, seems to be an American thing as Europe seems much better and making roads usable in any other condition than sunny clear days haha, I’m sure those LED lights are leagues better than the original sealed beams tho

@@ireiaand if you haven’t seen it yet go check out the video called “driving the 944 in IFR conditions” on my page, you can see why I LOVE those led headlights on the 944. I haven’t had a chance to try the fog lights out in fog like that yet though.

@@Martin-yi6py you might want to check the refrigerant level, when the level is either too low, or too high the compressor will kick on and off repeatedly. Most places will offer free system checks, so I’d start by contacting a shop that you trust to check the level. I hope that helps!

​ @TakeFlightGarage Hi! Thank you for the answer. I have a climate machine at home and I have tried to fill the system with several levels of R134a... I started with 750 grams of R134a and I had these issues. I have lowered it to 450 grams and the AC works better (longer cycles). In neutral (1000rpm) the compressor doesn't disengage. Only if the RPM goes up to 3000, on the low pressure side the pressure decreases to 1,5 bar and the AC compressor disengages. After that (5 sec.) de compressor engages again for 10 or so seconds... But on your car, does the compressor engage once and does it stay engaged the whole time?

@@Martin-yi6py sounds to me like your low side pressure is just slightly too low, it should be closer to 2 bar or 30 psi which is the low side fill pressure. The high side should be 150 to 200psi. My compressor does not engage and then disengage it stays on as long as I have the ac button and recirculation buttons engaged.

Make sure it’s the right weight of oil, the right weight of refrigerant, the right components for a 134 conversion, and that there are no leaks or nothing is frozen like the expansion valve. If the pressure is too low or too high, a safety switch will shut off the compressor.

@@AK_918 You’re right in that there’s two different part numbers. However from what I understand it’s not the stiffness, one is meant for the cut a strut insert and the other is meant for the replaceable cartridge. The part number I ordered was 8641-1038 sport. The other part number is for the 87+ cars 8641-1414. There’s actually a physical difference in that the later cars have that little nut on the bottom. It’s meant to lock the cartridge in place when using the cut a strut on the later cars as you’re supposed to drill out a hole in the housing for the nut to fit through, so that a bolt can be threaded in from underneath.

Still waiting on a PPI and him to figure out what he’s doing with the fuel lines…(they’re original so he wants to replace them before selling) and technically the car is over budget so I’ve gotta talk with my parents about it, perhaps try negotiate with the seller for a lower price.

@@ireiaand tell him you’ll take it as is without the fuel lines (you can then just buy the rennbay kit for I think like $90-$130 and have your chance to wrench on it. That’s the only thing that’s a bit weird about him listing the car for sale if he’s not really ready to sell it Yanno? The over budget part is tough but I’ll give you the same advice I gave to another viewer in Germany who’s shopping for an S2 (out there those things are selling for 25-30k) don’t stretch yourself super thin on buying the car in the first place, because something can always happen and it would suck for you to spend a ton of money on a car only to immediately have to have it sit. Since he’s taking forever to do things like the fuel lines you can use it to your advantage to save a bit more money in the meantime to put you in a bit of a better position to buy it (say after a couple more paychecks or something) but in the meantime I’d still keep looking because a better deal might pop up.

@@TakeFlightGarage ah yea that’s what we were thinking, but he insists on having them replaced. I guess he feels worried the car might catch on fire as one of his buddies had his go up in flames for the same reason. Oh wow I didn’t know they were that pricy there, would’ve thought the opposite haha. Yea I think especially as a first car I don’t want to spend too much acquiring it, this one is currently at 22K still a good price just might be too expensive for me. I’ll have to see later this week when I talk with my parents as they’re helping buy the car, maybe if we can get it down to the higher teens it might be better for us. Definitely going to continue to keep a look out! As you said a better priced one may pop up, saw one that did although it had a rebuilt title (hit a curb apparently) for 15K exact same car otherwise mileage condition etc

@@ireiaand I am an absolute noob when it comes to film and photography and composition and allllll that stuff. All my videos are shot on an iPhone (no meme intended) in fact I was thinking about 3d printing a gimbal to help with filming more stable and better B roll

That’s a great question! So there’s a lot of well established courses through different brands and companies as an example King Schools is a big one, Sportys pilot shop has courses for every rating, those are all independent courses that are all online, and it’s meant to work together with your in flight training. I don’t think that would need to change because the same way that you can take a physics 101 course at ASU or a physics 101 course at SDSU, it all still ties into the same overall (pizza of knowledge) if that make sense 😂. Two slices of what is ultimately on the same pie. When you finish these courses you actually do need to present a certificate saying that you’ve completed the course to the testing administrator when you go to take your written exams. So at least for the online stuff you could still pick whatever school or brand you’d like to go with and do that part of it from a laptop or pc at home as long as the flight school you’re training at approves!

Was just wondering as I’ve always liked airplanes just haven’t looked at being a pilot due to other ambitions. Still interesting to learn about though!

There are scholarships out there it’s just either you have to pay to be a member to a club to even be eligible to apply for them/ there’s just not the same volume that’s out there the same way that you can get one through a major university. Tell your friend I said good luck, and I’d love to hear his feedback on the whole ethos of TFG!

@@ireiaand it’s actually wild but my theory is that flight training just was never changed in how it was done dating back to the Second World War, and it just never progressed the same way other things happened to. Who knows! 🤷🏻‍♂️ You’re definitely right in that flight schools like 61 and 141 schools ultimately are just privately run businesses, so students are really seen as “customers” which is crazy. They’re literally called schools and students but it’s treated the same as people selling the information needed to fly. Imagine walking into a grocery store and buying a rating off the shelf 😂😂😂. It’s a wild concept!

@@TakeFlightGarage hmm I mean I guess that would make sense as planes sorta have the same basic function so you just need to teach it. Yea I guess much like private colleges that easily charge 90k+ for a years tuition, they do see students as customers and themselves as a business. So I suppose it’s just interesting to learn about the differences in how the schools operate but still teach the same things.
