Great Video...very clear instruction. Much appreciated! I'm working on my first FCR. Thank You!
Thank you!
Dude, thank you! I know this is ancient- but this is the first time rebuilding an fcr. I ordered the rebuild kit and was like wtf!? What about the accelerator pump diaphragm and the mid body gaskets? Then I see a ton of dudes not even worry about it and just use what's in the kit. I say do it right or just don't! Anyhow, thanks for the video.
Great video bro. I have been struggling with a 07 CRF450R. Your video was the solution to my problem. Great job. Thanks!
how do you remove the shift drum
Hey man, thanks for the video. Quick question. Where did you find the rebuild kit with all the gaskets and stuff?
If you find a supply of the centre body gasket o ring for the road race version of the FCR please post a comment.
Quality video, thanks for the tutorial
Great video
Safety torx.
awesome video so thorough and you put it together slowly.
Good stuff mate. 👍
This was a really good piece of content. Transmissions are always scary for everyone, you took some of the fright away for some I'm sure.....@stanforadventure
wedge tool, and you can easy remove old bearing, without any damage.
Great vid. Thanks!
How do you install it back to the bike?
My gears are rounded a bit but 5th slips like mad so over 1000 bucks usd later i will have all new gears from yamaha
Great little vid! Do you have a link to the bearing race removal kit that you used in the video? Thanks!
For sure, listed below!! www.amazon.com/Orion-Motor-Tech-Bearing-Extractor/dp/B08J6NLWJX
@@claytonmotos2816 thanks a lot mate. The heat worked a treat on my 2006 Yz450f and I used a piece of round, solid tube steel to knock the top and bottom races out. I will try the same process for installing the new ones. This is definitely a plus for the alloy frame models as there is no paint that can be damaged. Thanks again and I appreciate your reply.
If I send you my carb and pay you would you rebuild it? Clayton Carb Builds! Its got a nice ring!
Great video! Thanks for that short and clear explanation.
LOVE YOUR IN DEPTH VIDEO! I NOTICE THAT YOU "AIR CUT OFF DIAPHRAGM/COVER" IS MISSING! EVEN IN MY 2006 OWNERS WORKSHOP MANUAL... IT IS MISSING! IS IT DELIBERATE?
😂
Thank you for making a video about this. i have been struggling with my 08 YZ 250f for some time now with a bad bog of idle, replaced ALL the seals/gaskets/orings/accelerator pump in the whole carb except the mid body since almost no one talked about that, everyone just yelled that it was the accelerator pump which already was replaced. After having the carb apart for the 5th time in a year(what a pain it is to remove on this bike), it finally runs correctly after replacing the mid body kit!
Not to bag on your method of madness But... the Use of an Impact screw driver on Carb Slide seems Strange to say the least. Hey U gotta Improvise right?
Great video. I've got the 2005 wr450 runs great but pops a lot on decel I'm at a 170 Main and 48 pilot should I go up on the pilot a few sizes? Thank you
or you can do buy the tool for lke 30 bucks lol
Hey man, I just rebuilt the carb on my 2004 yz250f. The bike was running at the end of last season but I decided to rebuild the carb this spring cuz I knew it needed to be done. Only reason it ran last season was because I had a family friend clean the carb and he recommended it be rebuilt. Anyways I’ve rebuilt the carb and now replaced the fuel petcock but I can’t seem to get the bike tuned right to idle well. Just wants to die on me unless I keep it alive with the throttle. I could really use some advice as this is the first bike I’ve ever had. Would rather not have to wait to get it into a shop and pay big bucks for what I truly believe is just a tuning issue. Please let me know what you think I’d really appreciate it!!!
Hey man thanks for the comment! Have you tried adjusting the idle screw and fuel screw? It could also be a valve lash issue if that hasn’t been done in a while.
Thanks so much for the tutorial, I'm fixing a yz250f on my channel, and I couldn't figure out how to do this. Also my name's clayton too 😅
excellent vid!
i butchered my carb trying to adjust the accelerator jet because someone before me put it in to where it shoots the stream facing the airbox. luckily i found one on ebay. great video man thanks for posting!
FANTASTIC how-to between this and the first vid on the tear down! I feel super confident now. I’m very mechanically inclined but carbs can still be intimidating. Especially slightly more complicated ones like these. What do you recommend for new vent line? Also, do the all balls rebuild kits include the 3 o-rings for the fuel inlet fitting where the fuel supply line hooks up? Thanks Also liked and subbed ;)
Hey Jason thanks for the comment! For the o-rings on the fuel inlet I would just order the OEM ones from a parts supplier as they aren’t to my knowledge in the kit. The vent line is any 1/8” line, but there are places online to get different colored vent line. Hope this helped
@@claytonmotos2816 yeah, dumb question on the vent line. Found it on Amazon 2 minutes after I commented. Was definitely curious on those o-rings for fuel fitting though. I want to replace mine. Since you had extra o-rings left over, I was wondering if those were perhaps for that fuel fitting. Thanks for the reply!
Those o-rings from the kit weren’t the right ones. The OEM part number is 3TJ-14564-40-00 and i remember having to order them separately. Hope this helps!
@@claytonmotos2816 that helps very much so. Thanks again and happy riding😁
This guy has some of the best illustrations on repairing that i have come across. Helped me out makes it simple ect
Thanks M8, much appreciated. Going to do this this week, never to late for an old dog to learn new tricks.
What fluid do you use in your Ultrasonic cleaner for carbs? And how long do you run it for?
Answer me this if anyone knows but these carbs look all the same on these 450 bike from one brand of bike to another. Are they all the same brand?
Great video! Did my first carb rebuild with it. Thank you for your time and energy.
Clayto buen canal lo recomiendo..
Great video, my mid-body o-rings were Silly Puddy due to sitting.
can i send you my carburetor?
Fantastic
Really tempted to do this
saved the day big guy
Great video brother
At 14.58 that little tube shooting out gas, is it replaceable, because mines broken, or is it part of the carb body.
Hey thanks for the comment. Yes the part has a part number however it is not purchasable through parts suppliers, I have tried. The only way I have found to replace a broken one is through buying a new carb throat. That particular jet is pressed into the throat and must be pressed out. Be very delicate!
@@claytonmotos2816 oh man, that sucks. Ok thanks for responding
Thanks for the video man I watch a couple and still had some parts left over and was like wtf.. you were very detailed so I got it all back together
All after market junk. Yamaha made Japan parts are expensive for a reason.
WHATS UP EVERYBODY ITS CLAYTONMOTOS...YER BOI
Really great info. Thanks for putting this together.
Great video buddy! Thanks for sharing!!!!
It would be very helpful if you actually showed the camera what parts you are dropping into the bottom of carb before u screw them in, so we can see which goes where. I am grateful for you making this video, had a guy come over that claimed he could rebuild my carb and took it all apart without me being present and failed. Now I'm trying to piece together what he took apart. 😮💨
