    Damn dude, you did again. You mentioned in an earlier post in answer to a question from someone that you were thinking about starting a membership for $1.99 so people could have access to the STL of your models. I would gladly pay that for this model alone. I have some experience with Tinkercad and could try to do this on my own, but not sure I have the expertise to pull it off at this point. I will say watching your channel is giving me a lot more confidence to try some more difficult models than I'm use too doing though. I really need to start experimenting with more difficult things and just go for it.

    Okay I'm going to try this later but with a different method here's a couple suggestions first you don't want to take a positive and rotate it because that's going to create a zigzag around your perimeter what you need to do is take that original positive create a negative and you rotate the negative and then you use a negative to cut a solid this way you're basically increasing the poly count but in the correct direction Second no that's never going to work You're duplicating 720 objects and then merging them Plus whatever complication is built into the sketch tool yeah I think your cat's not going to handle that it's going to puke it's freaking guts out how about we just try doubling tinkercad's existing resolution of 64 polys and try to go to 90 why did I pick 90 because it divides by 4 360 / 90 is 4 which means we need a 4° rotation or you can go 120 with a 3° rotation that will give us almost double the current resolution so let's try that First you make your shape just one half make it 10 mm tall then you cover it up with a block also 10 mm tall and you cut your shape from the block you then stand the block up and you rotate it 3° if there isn't an overlap just make your block taller before you're rotate it until there's an overlap it's okay if the parts overlap now to figure out how many tinkercad will chew on before it pukes its guts up So let's start with 10 3° rotation 10 duplications see if it lets you group that Don't forget to check for glitching if there is no glitching try 20 if there is no glitching try 30 but do remember to keep the number evenly divisible into 120 you'll figure out why in a moment won't you get close to the maximum step back a little bit export the file this is what I call simplification it doesn't matter if you group 10 and then rotate that 10 you're still grouping 360 rotations because you're doing a 1° rotation so that's 720 parts you're trying to combine take your cat is going to vomit all over you every time you try that Now reimport the part you just exported now rotate that part the number of times necessary to get a 360 use a master ring to allow you to get a proper rotation Group it export it re import it Now put that inside of a box and cut it export it bring it into your slicer separate connected parts delete all the garbage until you have just the cutout that you made using your tool now re-import that into tinkercad there you go now you should have a 120 poly count perimeter or almost double the current limit of 64 I'm actually going to go try that right now this might be a way of making some pretty smooth nose cones for 4-in larger rockets

  • @modifiedz0695

    Could have duplicated the head of the hammer into a hole and grouped it to the rock so it could have been printed in 2 pieces. Then either glued the hammer into the rock or keep it as 2 pieces. But awesome tutorial. Do you share these STLs?

    • @TinkercadWorld-ho8ht
      @TinkercadWorld-ho8ht 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah! Great idea. I actually thought about doing that but I thought it would print fine at that angle so went with the all at once approach. I don't have my STL's listed anywhere yet but I might in the future. Maybe someday I'll do channel membership and make them available tol members or something. 🤔 Mostly I like to encourage people to try and make their own version but I do realize that not everyone has the time or want, to do so. :)

    • @TinkercadWorld-ho8ht
      @TinkercadWorld-ho8ht 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think it's about perfect when comparing it to photos online. In the thumbnail it looks really long because of the angle. In most the photos on Google the handles are about 2 1/2 times the width of the hammer head. And that's what I did.

    You need to use the magnet tool. You can select an object, click on the magnet tool next to the mirror tool and then the object will have a greenish workplane around it. you can click and drag by the dot that appears and drag it over other objects and it will pace the object perpendicular to that face. Easier way of aligning an object to a face.

      Also, when a piece is symmetrical, you don't need to make the whole thing trying to get the symmetry right, do one half, extrude it into a shape, then duplicate it, mirror it, put them back to back, and merge them together.

      @@LeonardoG1981 yup exactly! I did that on the second shape I made in the video! 👍, it was much easier! Lol

    You were correct to do half and mirror and group so that you have symmetry. Rotate and duplicate about 10 times, export, delete, import and rotate and duplicate more. Lots of triangles and vertices makes a 'big' file. My test file was 30Mb and I cannot import it to a new project now because it is too big. However, some slicers/microsoft3D app may be able to rebuild the image and simply it. P.S. Internet speed has nothing to do with it, it is the program running online and servers that dedicate processing power to grouping

      Awesome!! Yup you and a few other commenters definitely nailed it! I might do a follow up video so we can show it in action to everyone and see if it works out as it should for me! 👍

    Could drop a drip of clear UV resin ito the eyes. That would make them pop even more. Outstanding modeling and painting.

    I think you need to group like 5 duplicates. Export then import again. Then repeat

      Yup! I think you're exactly right! A few other people are saying that as well. You guys are smart 🤓

    "im not printing it again" haha it be like that sometimes

    You could create a quarter of the piece, group it and make one print, giving you a half, group that and then copy a half or mirror image the half.

      Yeah!!! That's what some others are saying as well. Make a small part of it then export it and then import it back in, then finish it.
