All of you like to sh!t on "colonialists" but still never learn. Countries like mine, Egypt, are filled with people who haven't learned any form of democracy or that secularism is the only right way. Your leniency with religion and it's clerics being tied to your states and constitutions made it possible for dictators to have a play power up for grabs. Countries filled with people who like populous rhetoric being spoken to their ears with some charismatic fascist in a suit. Today's situation is caused by Iran's islamic revolution and how Khomeini made anger and outrage a characteristic of a muslim. People liked Nasser the dictator and the same people also liked Khomeini the dictator, different sects in religion and also different ideologies but both sprouted rage in people. CIA might be the worst organisation on earth but people of the middle east bow to whoever is in power and the countries are a dictator's utopia.
The world would be different - and perhaps better - if the US had not made so many political errors after the end of WW2. From the anti-democratic decision in Iran over the Vietnam War and several other things. They simply often have no feeling of what's going on. It has to do with their mediocre education in foreign history and cultures.
Funny how the US calls Israel the only democracy in the region; when the only true democracy in the region was not allowed to exist. Most Americans today do not realize that at one time Iran idolized the US. I was 18 years old fresh out from under my momma’s shirt in the US Air Force when they took American citizens hostage in Iran and I asked why? I did not find out until I was in my 50’s. Read the book all the Shaw’s Men.
this same playbook By the US is going down right now in Venezuela.
Stop spreading lies, don't relay on paper that we can not confirm it's legitimacy.you don't have the whole pictures.
*changed iran
My mother was a secretary at the Iranian embassy. When those events happened she was confused about the facts as everyone else was. This is a great example of how subversive and greedy the United States government is. We just can't seem to vote these horrible people out. We currently have a similar situation where we are being manipulated into killing each other by members of our government. These people will be successful this fall. It is another avoidable tradgity.
Why would the governments want to prevent this kind of things? It's called divide and conquer!
I don't really know what government think other than saving their own fat skin. For me its does not really matter whether it is the US or the Iranian government. They all have their own fair share of shady business behind the scene and their main interest is always maintaining their own power over their own people.
Imagine the middle east without this coup.
I already knew this story, but the detail you provided about the western interference was excellent. No wonder so many of hate the loony western ruling class toxic slime.
Hey Dr A, thanks for that video. I have great empathy for Iran, but am a little confused about how I should think about Iran in light of the criticisms about what some say is its religious authoritarianism. Could you sum it up in a couple of sentences or maybe make a video about it. Thank Stephen. PS, I am a great fan of professor Marandi's and have learnt much about Iran from him.
Wow this is a fantastic video!
Those british border drawers shouldn't even be given a crayon. Also don't forget the supposedly civilized french.

Iranians have every reason to despise the US.
Thanks for sharing The truth emerges God knows The whole world knows now Free Humanity!
Britain was behind it but America helped.
Who did the revloution in iran? Not the people, USA admit it cost 15 million dollers.
Yes! The best example of American hypocrisy.
Perfidious Albion handed its legacy to the USA
British colonialism has destroyed India and China, too. Before the arriaval of the British pirats India and China had half the world's economy. They plunged into poverty because of the British. Today they are returning to he top and the British isles heve become irrelavant. The British love to sing "rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves", but in reality they have become the barking puppies of the USA.
Politics are criminal
The more one learns about him the more Churchill seems to be like a little hitler with a similar degree of racism and bigotry, a lesser degree of ambition yet a higher degree of ruthlessness and allegiance to corporate interests.

Iranian oil should be for the Iranian people
I like how you throw in the speculation, what if the coup hadn't occurred, and 1978 revolution, hostage crisis, Carter's election loss ... so not only the local effect of a more democratic and less militant middle East, but a four year delay to the onset of Reaganomics. Interesting. A bit like the historic crossroads of 2019, where (arguably) stirrings from the Israel lobby saw Jeremy Corbyn in the UK plummet from rock star popularity to terrible election loss, triggering the Democrats in the US to make sure as hell that the similarly surging (but also unpopular with Israel) Bernie Sanders didn't actually get their presidential nomination.
Cancer needs cure, pleaae God hurry up 😢
Ya know, while I'm sympathetic to Mossadeq's position, ya gotta admit that a May Day revolt against Britain looked communist... Probly woulda been better for Mossadeq to have chosen a different day than May 1 for nationalizing the oil company, ya think? Or maybe he was actually a communist--the world was very different in those days, before the true horrors of communism were well known to the world. Hell, it's even making a comeback these days, because young folks don't like reading books and such.
wbu horrors of democracy in iraq libya and now gaza ad west bank done by so called democeatic govts
Victoria Nuland , Mike Pompeo and Anthony Blinken cross the isle to create coups like this . Venezuela 🇻🇪 to Bolivia 🇧🇴 to Ukraine 🇺🇦.
This makes me think of the assassination of King Faisal… He enacted an oil embargo then his nephew kills him because he allegedly was frustrated with him allowing television 😂.. Ok Merica’ ok bad teeth 🦷 Britain 😂
Yea, this tracks. Sounds about Merica’.
The blowback to the CIA coup was the 1979 Islamic revolution
After all this stupid fools who knows nothing about history u today call Iranians regime terrorist
Morris Chang rocks !
Similarities with iran and the shah and the Egyptian coup that had Morsi arrested and shah al sissi become the new pharaoh.😎
Nothing new under the Sun 🌞
CIA is a true evil organisation. Nazi servants from western Germany were sent to US and CIA was founded. So, it’s pretty much a Nazi organisation that still tries to ruin the world
The USA can't help itself from molesting other countries.
Thank you for this video, if not for history US have always told us that Iran is dangerous state not knowing the the western imperialist turn it to what it looks just because of it's greed for oil that was never it's own.
Same happened in Bangladesh and same they are trying to do in India
Mossadegh was a lefty, a leader and a patriot of democratic Iran. So the CIA and the Brits destroyed him, with a hubris and anti-democratic bent that continued for decades. Were leaders of the CIA part of the plot to conduct, with top members of the US military, a coup against President John Kennedy? The CIA certainly lied to and hid people and lots of documents from every commission that looked in to the coup, and is still ignoring disclosure laws and concealing documents today. God only knows how many documents the CIA has destroyed. What happened to the many witnesses who were called to testify but died mysteriously before they could? And other witnesses - a lot - who also died soon and mysteriously? I wrote a book, “American Socialism,” and it argues, among many other things that the CIA should be abolished, as its existence has proved to be a danger to democracy here and abroad. Its contribution to the history of torture is well known. I can only say to Iranian democrats that the public here operates under a veil of secrecy from the illegal and immoral acts of the CIA to this day. When the brave US senator, Senator Feinstein, looked into CIA torture for years on behalf of the Senate Intelligence Committee, the Committee’s computers were hacked by the CIA!
Different times different nations SAME Authors behind the Scene
What nationals are most of them in these positions
Great video. I read all the shahs men. And this is a spot on summary.
I'm from Iran and living in it right now. Yes CIA coup was bad what Brits did was terrible, but the majority of our problems are cultural. Things wouldn't be very different without this coup happening. Our people are very superstitious, close-minded and stubborn. Aversive to change and possibilities... deeply traditional and hierarchical. They cannot have diplomatic relationships with the rest of the world. They are very racist... I live among them and sadly I know them too well. Doesn't matter if they are pro regime or against. Which other country holds 50 years old grudges? I gave up on Iran because of its people.
lol you area bootlicker .! a country has culture whether it is in middle east or europe , loojk at usa there is a identity crisis going ,lgbt, geder reverse .
