Hi Gordy. You mean the auto-gyro, aka Little Nellie? That was the first coin in both the £5 and silver (£2) ranges, covering the 1960s. I've done videos on them, and the silver coin was only my second upload way back in November last year. Cheers.

Hi, there are now three coins with the King's profile.... the Queen Elizabeth Memorial (mintage 9.6 million), the Coronation (n/k) and the hard to find Atlantic Salmon (also n/k and rumoured to be quite low!). Cheers.

The 1985 version of the 1 pound coin has the Welsh leek design and there were just over 228 million issued, and is no longer in circulation, so certainly one to keep. The 2013 2 pound coin has 4 different reverses.... the cogs & gears, known as "Technologies", 2 different designs for the London Underground and 1 celebrating 350 years of the Guinea. All four of these are still in circulation. Cheers.

Hi. You have the version for the year 2000? That year the coin has the Welsh Dragon on the reverse. Most of the old reverse designs were used for different years. Cheers.

Hi, great question. Sadly yes... if opened they're ruined. The bars are sold in a sealed plastic casing with the card inlay showing it's from the Royal Mint, its weight etc. The plastic could be opened, but then the bar is left open to the elements. I could put it into a capsule, but then the inlay card would be useless. Some people do open them, I prefer not to (for now anyway). Cheers.

Hi. I did mention in the video that there are many varieties (even more when you go back to QV), but the main one mentioned was the 1926 modified. The idea behind this series of videos is to introduce new collectors to what is generally out there. If I included varieties as well, the video could be a lot longer, but there wasn't enough to look through to find them. I've gone through these before for my own collection, including varieties (there weren't any) other than H & KN mints. Cheers.

Some junk shops, antique shops and alike are canny... they know one or two might be worth 50p or more (god quality Q Vics), so I try to go for multiple purchases and knock the overall cost down. Cheers.

Spot on! They "sweat" and can become "sticky"... all to do with the reaction between the metal composition and the plastic. The coins displayed in my videos are in books for ease, as trying to show 20+ coins, all in capsules, would be a nightmare. Cheers.

Hiya. I've just checked my old almanac (dating back to 1967) and it says proofs were issued for 1937, then 1950... nothing in between. I think it's a coin that just hasn't travelled far since leaving the mint. Every raves about the 1933 Penny, but rarely mentions the 1952. If offered, I'll take either 🤣Cheers.

There are several ways to sell coins, no matter where you are in the world. 1 - local collectors (maybe through a Facebook group?). 2 - Coin dealers in your area, but you won't get a good price as they have to make a profit too. 3 - Ebay. Option 3 may be the best and restrict buyers to SA or your local area. Good luck. Cheers.

Silver is cheap enough to get coins like this but the downside is the silver price market rarely goes mad, unlike gold. I just like shiny things 🤣Cheers.

@@John-FourteenSix Hi John. The price varies during the day, based on the going rate for silver, but this particular coin was £31.86 +VAT on 8 May. I've just looked and it's currently £33.40 +VAT on the RM site. I've paid as little as £27.70 for the Britannia & Liberty coin back in February.

Hi Philip. Yes, the coin was a rarity to the working masses. It's still fairly rare today as most haven't got the money to pay for the gold/coin market value (even more so for a full Sovereign!). Cheers

A lot of people seem to think people in the old days got a halfsovereign a day. It's laughable, it was just over a week's pay for an average worker. A solder in the trenches only got 6 shillings a week, people have no idea. Workers heard about sovereigns, and may of seen one, but never able to own one, unless you had a really good job.

Hi. They appear every so often here in the UK on Ebay and sell for between £2-£5... depending on condition. If you are outside of the UK, you might get more on Ebay in your country as they would be harder to find. Good luck.

Those are the tough ones, and yes, they can be hard on the pocket too. I need a 1926 modified bust, then the next oldest needed is 1894. The 1860s, 70s and 80's are patchy. I ended up buying the 1950 penny for £13 and the 1951 for £22. A touch over the odds 2 years ago, but worth it as I haven't seen many since. When I do the George V video, I'll try to keep an eye out and see if there is a 1919KN amongst them. Cheers.

The animal is a Caribou. The 1968-1978 coin was slightly thicker at 1.61mm compared to the thinner 1979-1989, which was 1.58mm. Certainly one for the collection. Cheers.
