Are you planning on looking for jobs directly from India or are you planning to pursue a degree first from the UK?

I don't think so. But it can also depend from one university to another.

Please bear in mind that conversion programmes are not usually enough to gather relevant and necessary skills in research. A lot of times people do another master's degree to gather more skills and experience. However, this is not the case with everyone because your prior work experience (especially in research) also helps in gaining admission in PhD programmes. I hope this helps.
