Good operation how do find the kuhn baler?is it 23 knives
It’s our contractors baler but yes I think it does have that many knives. Makes a good bale and chops well but the plastic wrapping mechanism isn’t the best and has broken a few times and a couple of bearings have gone on it. I think he is planning on changing back to a mchale next year
Why dont u try a fusion, deff speed things up
Is someone running the wrapper or is it remote control?
It’s on auto load so as you put the next bale into the loading arm it automatically lifts and wraps it, so only touching the remote when you run out of wrap
How many bales a acre did you yield
how weight kg 1 bale ?
I think i passed one of the fields when you were doing baling
Hi what model is the jcb loader
It’s a 409
@@sandersfarmvids looking at something similar are you happy with it
@@JamesOBrien2253 I don’t particularly like it myself as it’s a bit noisy and uncomfortable to drive off concrete. Nice size, reliable and easy to use though
Hi. Where is your McHale baler?
Top machine on a un Schaffer 8090T, 6000hrs très pratique
Is there a reason you don't use a combi-baler?
Wrapping at the stack is the best way to do it. Bales are carted , wrapped and in the stack within around 45 mins from coming out the baler. Moving them after they’re wrapped is asking for trouble
No no deff use a fusion only problem wud be crow damage in field but you guys look smart and sharp on the handlers ud be grand
Cant mute fast enough
Salam hormat. Hallo, saya dari indonesia. Saya adalah anak dari seorang petani dan saya lulusan sekolah peternakan. Adakah lowongan pekerjaan di perusahaan anda? Mungkin anda bisa membantu saya? Saya sangat membutuhkan pekerjaan.. Terima kasih..
Not at the moment sorry.
Great video some nice kit there 👌
You dont have conditioner and why? With thick crop like this it could be useful. How are you happy with kuhn baler.
If we were clamp we would use conditioners but we have found to make better quality bales a Tedder gets it that bit drier
Kuhn baler makes a great bale compared to mchale and wrapping system works well
That is the most wrapped bales Ive seen in one stack !! Is it for 1 herd ?
Yes just for 1 herd! That stacks not even full yet. Usually make around 5k bales
You've done 1 or 2 bales then 😮good job team 👏 👍
Hello sanders farm, great video ,good to see the system at work again, looked like some nice silage was made 👌 👍 😎🏴
Wasn’t too bad, could have done with it doing a week earlier!
great mover
I get the arguments for pit silage but this is great to watch. Something different for a change 😊.
Should get a fusion 3
@aubreygreen7179 would never wrap in the field
Can you show a photo of what rye silage looks like? At what stage was the grain mown, or was there already grain? Did the press have their knives on? Great videos, best regards.
Hi. Can’t put photos on TH-cam! We mowed it when the grain was at a cheesy stage so it was digestible without crimping it. We did put the knives in but the straw was still quite long. We should have lifted the mower and left the bottom 10 inches of stalk. We put it out with a mchale strawchopper which chops it up a bit more. We have fed it to our young stock and dry cows who love it.
Nice video slo Mo of tedding looked great 👌
Malone does a good spread
@@sandersfarmvidsye looks a fair bit of kit
Beautiful video, thank you guys!
Świetna produkcja. Ogladam wszystkie Twoje filmy. Pozdrawiam
Lovely stuff. What kind of output are you getting with that width and speed??
wow, was it worth it ?
It’s what we do every year and it works for us
Ive never seen straw wrapper before would it heat during d winter and not be good for bedding. It would take pressure off me if i wrap my straw during d spring as calving space and to have 2 extra pins to rear calves in would make my life a lot handier during calving season
We usually wrap a few hundred a year due to lack of space. As long as it’s good dry straw they don’t heat up.
@@sandersfarmvids oh great to know would only 1 layer be enough which is 8 rounds on my wrapper we always put 2 on the silage which is 16 rounds. At least knowing this i can start pulling out half of the straw in January and be ready for end of February to use it. Thanks very much for video this will make my spring a lot easier.
I saw ur video on wholecrop tonight i also asked u a question on d comments about the grain thanks
@@soloheadlad I would put 2 if you want it to stay perfectly dry. 1 will do a job but a bit of spoilage from rain getting in will probably happen
I thought when doing wholecrop silage the grain would need to be rolled or have some sort of mill as the grain would pass threw the animal and they would not get all the value from the feed if not rolled. I hope im wrong as ive planned to do wholecrop but ive no concrete slab but i do have my own baler and wrapper
You have to harvest the crop when the grain is like a soft cheese. Too milky it won’t have as much nutrition, too hard it will pass through cow. If it’s gone too hard you may as well combine it
Nice job ,that's a handy plough doin goid job ,not ploughing deep👌👌👌🏴
Well done with good gear and a great team any job no bother
Great video really enjoyed good editing your content is amazing
Thanks very much!
@@sandersfarmvids Charlie platts is my uncle so I do videos on the farm too
@FredsFarmingVideos that’s great. Charlie is a legend!
do what you think is best for your farm. If you do silage you need to pay a contractor or buy it yourself which is expensive. Plus you have the equipment for baling so why not use it.
Ever think of getting a combo baler? Fusion and kuhn ones seem to do the best jobs
No, wrapping at the stack is far better!
Nice video! Wouldn't it be better to chop it? 🤔
Yes it would but currently don’t have a clamp and didn’t want to make one for what was a bit of an experiment
Different feeding system and very different climate. Canada, near Montreal. Dairy herd in a tie stall type barn. We run a steel spike through the centre of the bale and lift them with an electric winch that runs on an overhead track. They unroll like a roll of paper towels. I aim for 30 percent moisture or less. Too wet and I have a block of ice to deal with
Definitely be a different climate! My dad has always wanted to farm in Canada
What is the percentage humidity of your bales? I have trouble with my wrapped bales freezing solid if i do them too wet
Probably 50% DM. Never had bales freeze. I think a bale shear would cut frozen bales
Good to see a vid off sanders farm again👌😎,looked a dam good crop ,ideal for beef cattle and young stock, until the next one🫡🫡
Great video, would be good to see more of your dairy operation 👍🏻. Will you just feed a few wholecrop bales alongside the grass silage?
Ideally we would just put the in between the silage ones but the silage bales are so good I don’t think they’ll eat them. I think we will save them for youngstock and dry cows
The massey got retired from the wrapper
It was busy on the scraper!
Looked a great crop. You may be aware of baldys farm, if not have a look at a couple of his videos of about a month ago and what he grew and baled. Although he's a suckler herd not dairy. Just a thought to consider along with what you've got. You must get chatting as i know you've a lot of knowledge to pass on. Keep well.
Yes I saw that video. In baled form I think it’s more of a beef feed to be honest. If we grow it again we will put it in a clamp I think. We may put it out with a mchale straw chopper for the youngstock
Do the bales stand up to being moved as well as they do when tied with net?
Better if anything. Just need long tines as if you only have short ones the bale can split in half.
@@sandersfarmvids thank you, I am looking at changing our baler so that we can tie with film
How long did it take to do from mow to stack
Usually we mow, Ted it, leave it a day then pick up mid morning the day after that
Thanks how many bales did you get
3200
Wo that is alot
What pressure do you run the Mchale at George and do you put all the knives in or a half set ?
Team work makes the dream work. Well organised operation.
Thanks
It's alot off work and hard ship we done that are self to but went back to silage clamps but look like u got good few people helping ya so I have to ask why the bales and not a silage clamp cuz we both kno there's alot off money does go's into the bales 😂😂
Bales are easier to feed out, and a lot of our fields are not that suitable for chopping and to build a clamp would cost a fortune
I would also make bales instead of an silage pit. I dont know about your country, but in my country you can sell those plastic. You can buy a press and press all the wrap you cut later when used in to a bale and sell it to factories for recycling. Maybe you get 25% of your investment back at the end of the year.
Where we live the government take the plastic and burn it cleanly in an incinerator to make electric
@@sandersfarmvids In Turkiye we can sell it for 0,50 cent American dollar per KG to recycling compagnies. When you have 2000 KG plastic waste at the end of the year is 1000 American dollar.....At least something than nothing :)) You do good job. Bless you and your loved ones.
Better baler mchale or kuhn? Ever had krone baler?
Kuhn is a far superior baler. Has a better intake and makes a far heavier, well chopped bale ant the plastic holds it together better than netwrap
@@sandersfarmvids how many knives you use? 25?
@@tinnie1835 I think it has 23
What baler do you have with the film binding? How do you like it. Great video 👌
Kuhn fb3135. Amazing baler. Far better than mchale bales. It broke down halfway through due to a bearing so had to switch balers
Awesome video one of the best silage baling operations seen for long time i bet you boys don't get much waste well wrapped and stacked ace.
no wonder of Erath dying it cause of you just build a clamp is better for the earth because of you like yes it impressive but come on you will make your money back so fast
