Flosstube #22 I Think I Got the Best One
Welcome back to my little corner of the Flosstubery where I give a little update on my linen shop and show my cross stitch finishes, works in projects and starts. It's been a while, let's catch up! * My regular camera is not working, and so I'm unable to edit this video - I mistakenly said that Nicola was from Hobby House (?! what?!) and meant to say Hands Across the Sea. *

I loved seeing all your linens. I would buy some but as I am in Australia the shipping costs double the price. Pity I can't purchase from an Australian retailer such as A Stitch In Time in Hobart or Crewel Gobelin in Sydney.
I enjoyed your beautiful projects. I also liked seeing you compare your fabrics. I am going to Hobby House next week so I’ll be bringing a piece of linen I bought decades ago from The Scarlet Letter. It is a very dark green used on some samplers from the coast of MA, NH and ME. I have Nancy Nurse’s sampler that I want to stitch but would prefer a 36 count softer piece of linen. I’m hoping your green will be a good substitute.
Loved your fabric parade …it was really helpful especially your descriptions! I enjoy seeing your beautiful projects….many of the charts I would have passed on but now I need to get them and start! 😂 Thanks Jodi! ❤
Wow! Your stitching is immaculate! So beautiful and so much - I can’t imagine. Hope you will be at Stitch North in October. I’ve always wanted to meet you but have been to shy. Thank you for restarting your Flosstube videos as I’ve missed watching. Cheers.
I really like the rust fabric with the wedding dress floss on the MFE 2025 project. I started the PNWSS project on your Maple fabric. It is very nice to stitch on. Thank you for sharing your new colors.
Thorough enjoyed your floss tube and I will be ordering your fabric ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Could i get your conversation for elizabeth masterton and what linen count are you using? As well could i get your conversion for halloween at hollyberry farm?
Hi Marlene! For Elizabeth Masterton I used the called for Au ver a Soie Soie d'Algers silk on 40 count linen. For Halloween at HB Farm I'm using 100.3 silks and am not doing a straight color for color conversion (for instance the fence and border flowers call for the same color and I'm using Noir for the flowers and something else for the fence). If you send a DM on Instagram I can share the colors I'm using with a bit more detail - and I'll probably talk about it more in my next video too. : )
I was excited when I saw you had a video up!!! Love your linen colors. Great finishes. I’d love to learn the open hem stitch.
Absolutely love your fabric. First time catching your FlossTube. Beautiful stitching.
Hi Jodi !!! It’s wonderful to see your face and catch up with you!! ❤❤❤
So fun. Great to see your progress and I love the new colors. Stopped the video and placed my order in!
I was just thinking I need to get Halloween at Hollyberry Farm out. Haven’t worked on her in years 😅 It’s just such a big one but I love it so much
So nice to see a video from you again. I really enjoyed your overview of your linens. It will be so helpful when picking out colors. All of your stitching is beautiful. You choose fabulous designs to stitch. The Rosebush Sampler behind you kept calling to me throughout your video. If you have time, I’d love to know what floss and linen you used for that. Thanks, Jodi!
Hi Janet! I talk about the specifics of The Rosebush Sampler in FT video #20 starting at the 1:30 mark. I loved stitching that so much!
@@trixietricycle Thanks! I’ll refer back to that video.
Hey Jodi great to see you! Where did you get the new Soed Idee chart? My google skills are failing me because I can't find it and obviously need to buy it right away! 😂❤
Hi Emily! This was a free chart from Simone that she posted in the Homespun Needlework FB Group.
Thank you for explaining the linen and love your finishes and starts , they're gorgeous
So excited to see you again! Just ordered the new fabrics (yes, I paused you and placed my order).
I am so glad you shared all the info in how the linen and aida colors are made. The information from your research on the names of fabrics is interesting. So informative. Your work is amazing. I wish I could do linen and higher count. But I have to do aida or evenweave with smaller count. My eyes, even with magnifiers just dont do it. I will though try linen again sometime.
I'm so excited for the new fabric colors! Oh wow, your Halloween at HBF is gorgeous!! I was just thinking, "maybe I should restitch mine" when you said those nice things about mine, lol, so thank you for pulling me back from the ledge. How did you just quietly stitch an entire year's MFE SAL?! Absolutely gorgeous!! And now you're making me want to stitch next year's! Come back soon, Jodi!
Your projects are absolutely amazing and I love, love, love all of the colors of your linen! I will be purchasing some of the new colors in the future. Keep doing what you do, you are amazing!
Delightful posting...beautiful fabric and stitching...best wishes ❤
It was wonderful seeing you again. You are amazing!!!
Loved how you showed and described the differences in your beautiful linen-I’ve put my order in! 🙌🏾
Thanks for doing a video. I love all of your stitching pieces because they are different from others. Randomly, thanks for wearing your glasses so you can see everything clearly. Love the new linens had to immediately get some salt ash.
So nice to see you posted a video! Can’t imagine how you have time with your amazing linen company! Wanted to tell you I’ve been a huge fan of Cedar River linens from the start. I stitch in hand and the feel of your linens is spot on and by far my favorite. Also the colors are so rich and I love that they aren’t hugely mottled. Just love them!!❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my, your fabrics are so gorgeous!! I really enjoyed your video, and the projects you stitch are really in line with what I love also. I hope to be able to order a piece of your fabric line as they look so beautiful. I wish you great success in your Cedar River Linen business; I have only heard good things about it. I also love Modern Folk too. Blessings to you…………………………..
I was all over your new linens this morning - I have most of your other colorways and love them. Currently stitching Mary Jane Kerr on Tephra (per Brenda's suggestion) and it's lovely. Can't wait to see the new pieces in person. Thanks for all you do!
Well Jodi I am back and have ordered all of your new linen from you. I ordered 36 count this time. Can hardly wait to see it, when the box arrives I feel as if I am a little girl again. So excited!!!! I know other stitchers know how I feel!! Thank you sooo much for doing what you do. AMAZING!!!! I enjoyed your video too, gorgeous huge finishes. Until next time take care of yourself. Thank you again😘
I enjoyed hearing about all the fabric you are dying. So many Flosstubers rave about it. If you give a big pool of it to Brenda and Laura they may swim in it. 😂 They have given you so much praise. You have beautiful stitching and I think it's great you are showing a lot of it off with your own fabric. Happy sritching.
It's a treat to see you again! Totally enjoyed seeing all your stitching and loved the shop update too! Hope we see you again soon.
Hi Jodie, so nice to see you back. Glad to hear the shop is doing well, I'm going to have to have a look at your fabrics - the Maple Bar is speaking to me, I could see a Teresa Wentzler piece looking good on that. Also enjoyed seeing your WIPs and finishes, looks like a busy few months for you. Thank you for mentioning my channel, that was kind. Looking forward to your next update
It's wonderful to see you again! Your new fabrics are beautiful. It's going to be very hard to choose just one. I love seeing what you're working on. You inspired me to look at samplers in a very different way so I am actually stitching some. Your Baldaquin Birdies on Cedar River is gorgeous. And I have just added Ann Grimshaw to my wish list.
❤❤❤
I have order your wonderful linen and oh my goodness I love it so, so much!!! It is my favorite linen. I mainly stitch in hand on 40count. What a joy it is! The modeling is simply perfection. What a treat to get a special thank you from you, I feel so special! It’s almost time for another order.😘
Thank you ! I miss you so so much! I love all your new colors!!
Such a treat to see a video from you Jodi! Thanks for taking time to come back and share with us. Your fabrics are so gorgeous and I’m so happy to see your business growing. I have my first ever Cedar River linens coming from the Attic soon, I hope! I’m happy to see that you are finding a little time to stitch for your own pleasure amid giving us all fabulous fabrics. Take care, lovely.
The 2025 birdie beautiful ❤❤
Oh my Goodness!!🎉
❤❤❤❤
So enjoyed this video - good to see you back! Love the colours of the fabrics - particularly the red and green! I spent 10 years in my quilt shop - going 7 days/week - at least three of those 16 hr days... when I decided I wanted out I just did it! Had 8 months home before beginning 16 summers in a mountain fire lookout! I can tell you I sewed - with machine, by hand and now after 20 odd year hiatus, back to cross stitch.... I retired 4 years ago and am now home and able to garden again... my transition took a minute and a half! It looks to me like you will pull through quite nicely!
Your work is stunning, all so elegant! Can't wait to try your linen!
Hey Jodi! It’s SO good to see you on FlossTube again! The new linen colours are stunning. Your stitching is always so inspiring to me and your videos are a joy to watch. Miss you! Can’t wait until we can chat in person again. Melissa 💜💜
First time I’ve seen your floss tube. I loved it. Your stitching is perfect. Love everything you’re doing/done. I also love all your fabrics. I did order from you and it’s gorgeous. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you for your explanations on your fabric. Very helpful.
First, your hair twist is masterful and beautiful. Second, I love the gradations of color shading in your linens. Exquisite. Third, I know you haven’t made a video in a while but your stitching output is amazing! You attribute it to your stand but i think you must be a naturally speedy stitcher. I loved every single wip and finish. So much inspiration in this video! Don’t stay away so long. ps, loved meeting you at Summer School 🩵🩷💚
Good to see you again. Ann Grin Shaw is gorgeous. Love the open hem stitch on your stitching, so pretty. Great projects. Love your linen colors. Marilyn
What a fabulous video! Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful ❤❤❤
Great to see you again. Elizabeth is STUNNING!!! Absolutely incredible ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤
I LOVE your new colors. And I miss your face
