Pop-Up Pit - World's First Truly Portable Fire Pit.
These pits are brilliant , easy to set up and dismantle , pack away to a small , light package , keep you very warm and use very little wood compared to a traditional camp fire on the ground. I’ve had one for 4-5 years and never light a fire on the ground now .
Can the metal parts that engage with the fire be seasoned to have a patina?
Gay music
TOTAL PIECE of GARBAGE. Pit completely Rusted out after 1.5 years to the point it fell apart when I tried to move it.
Never seen aluminum rust before - usually its iron-based metals not alloys 😂😂
I’ve had one for a few years , no corrosion whatsoever , only issue I’ve had is the wire mesh has split twice and both occasions were my fault.
We love your fire pits! We have been using them in Grand Canyon and have several videos featuring them. I might just have to get the trailblazer for more light weight situations! Kudos!
i actually love this pit but two things. Don't mess with that heat shield. Small and the velcro tabs eventually come off. Go get those heat shield mats with more surface area. Second thing is i wish the inventors would round off the corners on the mesh and the 4 ember guards as they are sharp and it would just be nice to to get stabbed. Small details

The new Frontier Dutch Oven Grates are working well. Just finished an 11 day wilderness river rafting trip and used it when heavy winds were not an issue. You will need more bottom charcoal as the mesh screen sags below the grates after several uses and reduces the concentrated heat. I plan to go back to setting charcoal on a thin plate on top of the grates. I have a 1/4" aluminum plate with air holes that is placed on the grates to support charcoal the dutch ovens and better heat management. The plate packs neatly in the lid of my square Partner Steel Dutch Ovens. Have owned my Firepit for three years. Well designed product, even the carrying bag is roomy to carry the Frontier Grates, long tongs and my hatchet in one kit. Overall the Fireside Popup Pit, Dutch Oven grates and Fireside Outdoor customer service have been awesome! Sold my old rusty steel fire pan and have not looked back! The simplicity and effective airflow burns fires well, reduces smoke and when we break camp its almost all ash in the firepit, no large unburned wood to deal with. Having outdoor fires and cooking in the wilderness is a pleasure for all of us. Thank you
Where do you buy it in retail store?
Great video! Cannot wait to get ours and put out our video on it! Cheers
won't the velcro melt from the heat?
This is proof that everything has been invented. I've been thinking about a product like this but think it existed. I need one of these to feature on my channel. This would be a great way to have a fire on the beach. Let's connect.
I love this.
Can you burn wood that has pitch? Or will the pitch damage the mesh?
I have the 24X24 used it on a 2 day camping trip and I like it so far so much so that I'm getting the 12X12 Trailblazer it will be used on short backpacking trips and imagine it will have its durability put to the test..thanks
Bought this fire pit last year. Just now putting it together and currently unimpressed. The mesh is jus thiiiiis much too ‘short’ and having all sorts of problems trying to put that final piece on. If only products worked like the videos
Perhaps your fire mesh was made incorrectly, please contact us at helpdesk@firesideind.com and we will send you out a replacement.
Proactive Customer Service Suggestion: Mail 4 velcro dots to each affected customer with directions for application. Cost to you: <$1. Value to your brand: Immense.
I struggled with the heat shield yesterday after reading instructions. It said to wrap the velcro around twice, but there was NO way that worked. Also, wrapping the velcro once, it kept sliding down. NO velcro "dots" were included, and didn't know about them (was NOT mentioned in either instructions) until I saw the video! Drats. Now I gotta get some velcro dots! Super cool fire pit though!!
I apologize for the confusion on the heat shield, we recently made a change to the heat shield and the new shield is suppose to have Velcro straps long enough to be wrapped twice around each leg of the pop up pit, but our factory ended up making them the shorter length straps. If you have received one the heat shields with the shorter straps, you can use your own adhesive velcro dots found at any local craft store, be sure to place them below the set screws on each of the fire pit legs.
@@firesideoutdoor3440 thanks I did that and the firepit works great! Love it.
I’m going to buy one because it looks cool and I’ll use it all year ago !! I love grill all year !! Plus I loved having a fire pit !! I get all four seasons where I live !!
Just got mine. Any guide to put the heat shield on? It doesn't seem to want to stay in place. I attach one corner, move to the next corner and the one I attached falls off. The velcro is horrible and doesn't want to stick. I feel like it needs longer pieces or maybe double the width that it is so there is more contact area. I may have to modify mine to work, unless I'm really missing something here.

Where can i get the accessories (like the grill etc) for this pit in AUSTRALIA. Thankyou!
BCF will have everything back in stock towards the end of Dec 2020
Thanks for creating a new up-to-date video that does a very good job of showing everything. Tomorrow will be the 14th time we have used it since we purchased it in September.
Does the fire heat shield contain asbestos?
No asbestos used, instead it is an aluminum coated fiberglass
Mine just arrived in the uk can't wait to test this puppy out
Neat product. I have one suggestion. Why doesn't the Manufacturer apply the Velcro Dots for the Heat Shield so they are located in the correct location?
Where are you gonna throw the ashes? How well does it clean up?
Here is video that may answer your question. th-cam.com/video/yERg44t7xrQ/w-d-xo.html
Duuuuude!!! Just backed this on Kickstarter, I can't WAIT to get it in!!
Nice!
Cool.
Awesome... I love mine...
How long did it take for the fire to start going?
Just ordered this grill can’t wait to try it out. I know you said don’t use lighter fluid but can you use match lite coals?
I’d also like to know this?
He had match light charcoal so it's probably ok
Yes, any of the Matchlite charcoal briquettes are just fine to use.
How to dump the charcoal when it is still hot?
Hey Jason, we don't recommend dumping the charcoal when still hot but if it is a neccsity, you can use a square shovel to scoop and move the burning embers.
@@firesideoutdoor3440 and then where do you put the burning embers??
How do you safely feed the fire?
Hey Paul, the easiest way is the grab your logs on one end and carefully place them on the already burning coals.
Thank you for your interest in our Campfire Defender.
