I’ve never flown the premium, so I don’t know what the experience is like. The economy seat is completely fine for a long haul flight. I assume premium must be better than the economy experience. I’d imagine it’s a bigger seat with a better meal, and I think you get an amenity kit in premium.

We were sat in row 22. The view was decent from the seat. But I’d say sit a bit further back to get the best view.

It was standard Economy. You get screens on all TUI long haul flights both in Economy and Premium.

Yes. I went to the cockpit after arrival in Cancun and I asked the pilot about TUIA being the first 787 in TUIs fleet. He went on to say that it had completed the most hours of all worldwide 787s. It makes sense considering the amount of hours TUI gets out of its fleet!

Thanks Sam. I can’t believe it either, such a well established company. But I guess that they just fell behind the times. I’ve seen that DC now flies in Canada for Transat. This summer I’m off to Turkey with Jet2 and my return flight is on an ex Thomas Cook A321.

Nice, what month are you going? I think thsi virus is going to rock the travel industrty really badly. I have heard all the Jet2 A321's are currently on hold, so who knows what you might end up on. Last summer, I flew with TUI from Birmingham-Menorca in August. We got a leased A321 from Olympus Airways with their really friendly Greek Crew and a couple of cabin crew from TUI onboard to. The aircraft was ex Monarch and still had the Monarch seats inside! Did you see the Olympus A321's around last summer?

Hi Again. We were originally meant to fly outbound on an A330, but they’ve been returned to their lessor due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve checked this morning and it’s still a 757 out and an A321 in. Hopefully we are still able to travel. Also I seen the Olympus A321 at Manchester last year, it looked nice in its hybrid livery.

Hi Lilly. Thanks for taking time to write such a detailed comment. We also found the staggered seating config to be a bit annoying. Especially considering on the outbound flight my dad was basically sat on his own amongst a wedding party. My dad personally hated this flight, he wasn’t pleased about members of the wedding party leaning on his seat etc. Maybe next time the four of us will split into two on one side of the plane. In terms of the noises of the plane, I already knew what to expect as I’d watched tones of videos prior 😂.

That wouldn't have been the flaps coming down at such an early stage in the descent. Flaps can't be used above 20,000 feet at all, and rarely much above 5,000 feet. Also, the descent on the 787 is usually even more shallow than the 737 as it is much more aerodynamically smooth. Maybe there was a specific reason on your flight but it is rare. If you've any other questions about the 787 then please ask me, I've been flying them about 18 months now

Hashmal Dawn thank you so much! When the flaps came down we were probably nearly landing as I didn’t even know when we were about to hit the ground so I wouldn’t trust myself to know that either haha.

i know it’s a bit late😭 but how was your holiday to mexico, im going this summer and i’m going on the extra leg room seats on the dreamliner👍🏻

The Dreamliner is a very comfortable aircraft. If I can remember my ears didn’t really hurt on the flight. Because of the planes design with its mood lighting and lower cabin altitude you should feel more refreshed. Enjoy the Dominican!

Well I have to be honest, being young I haven’t flown many airlines. But out of the small amount I’ve flown, I’d say TUI. I’ve recently come back from a flight with Thomas Cook, and while that was good, I feel that TUI was marginally better.

Apparently they're ok unless there's some kind of problem, then you're on your own. I'm sure you'll be fine though. Also I'm sure you know, but don't forget to print your boarding passes for both outbound and inbound. Apparently they charge £40 each if you don't. That's really awful! Have a great holiday!

Ryanair are the pits if theres any problems there NO customer service n they are good at leaving customers high n dry I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole

Hi Sam. Going to the cockpit was a fantastic experience, deficiently consider going next time you fly. I do see your point in wanting to get off the plane though. I completely agree that the food on the return flight was poor in comparison to the the outbound. Thanks.

I found out that the food on the Return flights is loaded in Cancun. (TUI flies it’s inbound meals on its outbound flights on all other routes) that’s why the meal on the return leg from CUN is so bad.

Made up I found this video cause I had no idea what to expect on a dreamliner, I'm going to Mexico in November on a dreamliner and was just a little anxious about it. So thank you!

Hi. I told the crew member when boarding the plane that it was my first time flying on the Dreamliner, she told me to wait till everyone had disembarked in Cancun and then come to the cockpit.

Awesome! I'm flying on the 787 on Monday to Cancun and I'm a bit of a plane geek so will try that! Cheers!

TUI Cabin Crew here. Just ask one of the crew after landing when you are disembarking. We will never say no 🙂

Hi Henry. The turbulence was a little rough on the flight, I’d say around 6 or 7. Nothing too uncomfortable though. Don’t worry about turbulence, planes are designed to cope with it.

TUI are definatly by far the best I did TUI Manchester to Cancun we went premier class worth every penny fabulous. We flew out on Miles Of Smiles and returned on Neil 787/800 seats row 7 AB

I think you never flew with Singapore or Qatar airline. If you did, then they would be first class and TUI would be second class, far form being the "best" airline. In fact most asian airlines would be better then TUI.
