AN HOUR ON THE TARMAC! I Thomas Cook Airlines I Airbus A321 I Manchester Rhodes

Hello Everyone, Welcome Back to Peter Melia Travel
This time, I take you onboard Thomas Cook's Airbus A321. The aircraft used on all of their Short Haul Flights, departing the UK.
Our Journey begins at Manchester Airport. Check in took around 10 minutes. Security was a complete disaster, so many disorganised passengers. We then had a nice meal at Giraffe, before heading to the gate for our flight. We boarded to find that we'd be stuck on the tarmac for an hour. However, the crew made this up by letting us into the cockpit for a tour and chat with the Captain. Just after 7pm we made way to the runway and departed. The flight was very uneventful. Nice relaxing flight. We landed at Rhodes Diagoras a few minutes before 1am. It took around 30 minutes to disembark, and we then queued for around 40 minutes on the tarmac for customs. The baggage reclaim took equally as long. We then made our way to the coach. We arrived at our hotel, Avra Beach Resort in Ixia around 4am.
Overall, apart from some annoyances, we enjoyed our flight with Thomas Cook.

Great video. I still cannot belive they have gone. They were just the best, loved their A321's and their great crew. G-TCDC now flies for Air Transat as C-GTCY over in Canada...

Thanks Sam. I can’t believe it either, such a well established company. But I guess that they just fell behind the times. I’ve seen that DC now flies in Canada for Transat. This summer I’m off to Turkey with Jet2 and my return flight is on an ex Thomas Cook A321.

Nice, what month are you going? I think thsi virus is going to rock the travel industrty really badly. I have heard all the Jet2 A321's are currently on hold, so who knows what you might end up on. Last summer, I flew with TUI from Birmingham-Menorca in August. We got a leased A321 from Olympus Airways with their really friendly Greek Crew and a couple of cabin crew from TUI onboard to. The aircraft was ex Monarch and still had the Monarch seats inside! Did you see the Olympus A321's around last summer?

Hi Again. We were originally meant to fly outbound on an A330, but they’ve been returned to their lessor due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve checked this morning and it’s still a 757 out and an A321 in. Hopefully we are still able to travel. Also I seen the Olympus A321 at Manchester last year, it looked nice in its hybrid livery.
