    It's much easier to use PVC pipes, paint them terra cotta color, then cut the longways AND THEN CUT THEM TJE LENGTH OF A REGULAR SPANISH TILE. TGEN APPLY TO ROOF. I SAW A ROOF DONE like this but don't know how they were applied to the roof. Sorry! But can't be too hard.

    Hello, I’m new to diorama building. I’ve been back in modelling for a few years so have been collecting a tonne of what my wife calls rubbish 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been watching a lot of TH-cam and gotten a fairly good idea what I want to do. It’ll mostly be 1/35th WWII German armour I do with a few 1/32nd aircraft. The diorama’s will be mostly bombed out buildings r old Russian present dwelling’s. I’ve been getting a few silicone moulds but found they are quite expensive… I live on invalidity pension so my money isn’t a lot. Anyway I got a silicon mould kit off of eBay last week and want to make my own moulds for bricks, cobbles and stone blocks for walls etc. i also wanted to do a few slate roof tiles and the normal roof tiles but have no idea how to make them. Do I need a release agent that I put on the parts to be moulded ie when I make my own mould ??? And then when I’m casting said bricks etc do I need to put any release agent in the mould before adding the plaster ??? What do you recommend please 🙏🙏🙏 as I said I’m new to this side of the hobby but I’d like to build a few decent buildings that I can then place my tanks on and weather them all accordingly 🤓🤓🤓 any help or advice you can give me I’d be extremely grateful for 🙏😊👍 I’d also just like to say your how to videos are great. Simple, cheap none branded paints and easy to follow instructions. Some I’ve watched are, for me, way over the top and blind me with science and BIG words I don’t understand. You’d are to the point, no messing about and quite refreshing if I may say so 😊😊😊 I hope to see more of your work soon as you really do have a wonderful gift and a great eye for details. Like your roof tile jig and how to maximise the real look, I found that very interesting. Yes it’s a tedious job but I myself find those kind of jobs calming like building individual track links or sanding all the wheels on tanks, to me that’s not boring at all especially if it adds so much more detail to your build 🤓🤓🤓 Anyway I hope you can answer my questions 🤞🤞🤞 take care, and looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful work. Kindest regards, Kenny.

    I would like to try and create D&D terrain in a more realistic fashion using your techniques. What kind of stonework type and paint scheme do you think would be most ubiquitous and hence should be my main choice for walls/floors/houses?

    That style of building would work very well for 'African Bush Wars' themed as well, just swap for a corrigated metal roof.

    Fantastic technique! But having a hard time finding the exact type of board you're using from a US supplier. After testing on my various scraps, none of my "XPS" ( a loose catch-all description ) seems to behave in such a way that I can replicate your technique. Any insight on how I can obtain that material you work with?

      @ojsmodels2368 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      sorry to hear you can't get the results you seek. other than ordering the exact type of board I use from the UK, I can't think of a better suggestion. I realise that's not ideal. I buy it on ebay UK, it's underfloor heating xps sheet.

    • @ojsmodels2368
      @ojsmodels2368 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately not. The clay I use is reactivated by water. I suppose the polymer clay might survive the rain once baked. At the moment I have none of these mould in stock and wont for a while. But If it's something you still might want to try you can follow my Fb page for updates. Thanks.

    I have made plaster rock formations for a castle I made but I'm a little leery to apply the plaster rock formations because they seems so fragile and I fear if it's bumped they will crack or chip. Is there a way to harden plaster to preserve the plaster?

    • @oliverjolly8953
      @oliverjolly8953 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder what plaster you used? I don't know how to harden the plaster you've already used which sounds to fragile for its intended purpose. I'm sorry. It's frustrating to craft something and then fear using it. I make my rocks from foam, then use them to make silicone moulds and then cast the rocks in herculite plaster. It's pretty hard stuff.

    • @chrismojica9404
      @chrismojica9404 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's volcanic rock. I found it amongst railway ballast. Pumice, I think it is called. But tin foil works just as well, if not better. The volcanic rock can dent a bit too deeply for this method.
