The Trio comes in handy. Clean tones are fun to use. I think that a strat product is challenging to produce fat clean tones. My Amp 1 by Thomas Blug is great!!

Very nice playing!
Thanks very much for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas out there
you have deffinetly got the tone and the gruve steve iv hurd your other music excellent what were the events that inspired you if you dont mind.good work
Maybe 4 things: 1.I found the backtrack on TH-cam that sounded good. 2. I plugged in and felt that I could tweak my Halo to create a wall of sound. 3. It was 8:00am in the morning so I was having my coffee.... Thus the "Cup of Joe". 4. Joe Scarbough
That's my uncle right there! 😎 Your killin it Steve!!
Dude, thanks so much. Wicked tone using my Halo Delay pedal Thanks!!!
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas
Hi Steve, very nice original composition and guitar playing! Love your new found tone. 👍🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Hey, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you Mike. I love what the Halo Delay gives me. It does inspire me. I am such a lover of reverb and delay. I recently got a TC Electronics Chorus to round out my sound. About 7 months ago, I went from my old Digitech 2120 rack mounted effects unit to straight pedals. It took months for my ear to adjust and also a long time to set the pedals up correctly. I had a pro-player come over about 3 months ago and he helped my adjust my tone settings. That helped. Thanks for watching. Steve
@@stevewhitton8671 It does take some time to adjust to new gear. Sounding good my friend. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. 🎄
Very nice Steve, are you having that "454" rebuilt in your boat this "off season"...
Hey I need some advice......... How can I reach you???
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Steve, great playing on this classic tune! 👍🏻take 1👏🏻take 2 🙌🏻 take 3
Did you see Gram Parsons Nudie suit? Btw. Love your Trio + videos😊
No, we missed that. I just Googled it. Nice Suit for sure. Thanks for the comments
This is YT at it's finest. You are one cool dude, Steve. Great video!
Hey, thanks for the compliment and watching the video
Wow great video and I love your song 12 CENTS IN MY SHOE!!!
Thanks for the comment. I took the name of that song from 2 guys that Laurie and I met in Nashville. 12 cents in my shoe. Cool video
We’ve boat camped many times there as well as lake Powell. My family are all grown and some are gone seeing this video bring Such great memories, thanks.
Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply. Yes boating provides some really fond memories. Look for our Lake Powel trips
Great job man, I have the trio plus, and I know how much work you put into it 👍🏼 so again Great 👍🏼 job 1:56
Thank you for watching and your comments. Let me know if I can ever help with a specific lesson
I’ll be shielding and adding an S-1 switch to my 70th Anniversary Player Strat (personally customized, to a hard tailed, 100% 1954 Fender specs). Thanks for the sound check.
Thank you for the comment and watching.
Great video Steve. Absolutely beautiful weather. Enjoyed your music and your song, Brings back great memories.
Hello...... Thanks for watching and commenting. We had a blast
Realy like the music Great job.. boat is Beautful, We have had several last was a Sea Ray 8 beam 24' cuddy .. 4 Cyl dog lol.... that lake is one of the most beautful places you could be iv only see pictures off .. thank you for shairing ..
LOL - My 1st boat was a 20" Regal with an under-powered sick cylinder engine. But, they are all fun. Thank you for watching
Absolutely beautiful boat!, surprised it's not a "454" verses "350" but remains awesome and very well kept....the tune, "how long" is a true claasic....Cali. is a beautiful state...
Good eye...... Actually, the engine is a 454 but it has a carb cover saying something different. I put that on because when I was opening the engine cover, water would drip down to the distributor. My mechanic gave me that other cover. So, it is a 330hp Merc
I like the mess kit Steve. Good job. With the fuel setup. You should be able to display mpg to find best speed for best economy. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it's right there at 3k. BTW 2960 rpm is an F#. I figure you can relate. Nice video. Thanks.
Even though the engine is old, I do run it now for economy. Thank God the Arizona gas prices are reasonable. Thanks for watching!
I found the F# at RPM 2959
Great to see you're both back! Another great video. One of these days I'm going to see the two of you out there on the lake or canyon and we'll have a Bloody Mary!
Yes, it would be great to meet up. We like bloody Marys. Thanks for watching
Thanks Steve for going thru song construction like you did. I just purchased a Trio and started to mess with it yesterday quickly realizing it's going to take some time to master. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon your tutorial here, I feel like you've provided a great overview and explanation of how to attack creating a song with it. And nice job with the song, it sounds pretty darn good! Thanks!!
Thanks for your kind words. Start with 1 chord vamps. Do it for 4 measures. Then do a 1 chord vamp over 8 measures. See if you notice any difference with a drum roll
Ditto everything your last comment posted!...I had no idea Nashville was such a magnificent place...the famous musicians, the history of music, the preservation of the memorabilia and equipment is phenomenal...I especially enjoyed the immense Glen Cambell display...great job Steve in sharing the city with us!
Wow i stayed till the end so many great Musicians carved out this thing we call music with their talent and painstaking endurance of trial and era it's a ruff life for some and for some not so good of an outcome in the end. They made sacrifices for this thing we call music !! pioneers in their days still making this thing we all love so much .. music will get to your heart and bite at the seat of your pants. It will move your soll music will make you cry and make you chuckle. it makes you think and wonder in your mind what they were thinking.. i've never been to Nashvill but i hope to get there thank you so much for this steve i have allways wanted to see Nashville
i just got the treo+ but im watching you to figure out how to use it lmao thank you so much are you using power speekers or guitar amp.. this is great Steve thank you
Let me know if I can help you.
Start with a 1 chord vamp
Custom Shop has lost their goddamn minds
So glad you thanked Keith Gregory at Rumble Seat - He has been a friend and trusted adviser to me since we met back at Gruhn's on Lower Broadway. He has an almost clairvoyant sense of what kind of guitars would appeal to me... Amazing shop curated by Elliot Michael and staffed by the coolest guys around - Great tour.
and here is the rest of the story.......... After saying hello as I walked in, I was the store for appox 30 minutes gazing and looking at guitars. I have played since 1962, however I am no expert. So, after 30 minutes, Keith asks me if he could show me around. So, I said "of course". So he virtually showed me every guitar with a story behind it. I had no idea what I was looking at prior to his personal tour. I was so appreciative of his personal time. After 4 days of a blast in Nashville, Rumble Seat was one of the high-lights. I emailed Keith immediately when I got home to say thanks........ And, I got an immediate response. Thanks for watching!!
...tasty
Yes he is!!
A lot of the stuff is grossly overpriced, given the current state of the vintage market.
Thank you for watching. You got to admit, it is a beautiful store with so much eye candy
@ Agree 👍 🎸
Thanks for the tour.
Hey Sean, Laurie and I spend 4 wonderful days in Nashville. What a kick
Thanks for the tour.
My pleasure.. I doubt if we will make it back there again, but I'd like to.
Thanks Matt! Hahaha Love you brother😅🎉
Great guitar player! And... that girl must not get out much... 🤣 Love you Carlee!
Great job thanks
Thank you for watching, listening and learning
At 15:42 mark. We used to day camp in the area against dam where the tree/bushes are. It provide much needed shade when it was 115. It was perfect for wakeboarding and skiing since not alot of people would be in that area. The dam part was always blocked off as far as i can remember going there since the 90s. Last trip was 2007 when my father sold the boat. Thanks for the members. I need to get back up there some day!!
Hey WakeCool, thanks for watching. We will be putting out our next Lake Mohave Oct 2024 trip out in about 2 weeks. Stay tuned!
Wow Jeeepers Steve, excellent playing skills this is the second video of your iv watched .. good explanation of how to use this ausom tool thank you again Steve
Thank you Mel. I appreciate you watching. I have quite a FEW tutorials. Let me know if you have any specific questions
this is great . i watch a few of tim's freebeeeee. he's way over my head most of the time .. but this is the best lesson on this Digitech i would like to get one this could help me out a lot... the hole comp sounds like Rodney Crowell ...Realy a nice pice of music thank you for shairing
I think that this machine would help your playing. Let me know when you get it ... I will help you out. How many years have you been playing guitar??
I really like the tone and halo delay. I also really liked the passes right about the 2 minute mark. Nice work!
Hi Steve, cool cover my friend! 👍🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Hi Mike......... Thanks I was just trying to follow the chord changes and trying to make music
@@stevewhitton8671 Got it. I should have said cool "Little Wing" jam! 👍🏻
That Tom Anderson sounds so great! I am so impressed with your playing...
Thanks Mary......... I cannot stop playing it
Great playing on my favorite guitar! 👏👏👏
Thanks........ I love my new Tom Anderson Classic Abalone Burst
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for posting.
Hi Sean, Thanks for watching!
Nice! you did justice to this lake and Mohave as well. How was Powell with water levels? I need one of those navigational GPS units..
Thanks for watching. We went to Lake Mohave last weekend (Oct 2024). I will get that video up in the next few days. We did not make it to Powell this year, however, we are planning to go in July of 2025. Yes, the small Garmin GPS that I have is fun and very useful. I also purchased a fuel flow meter in it to keep track of our fuel.
Thrill is gone 🎹🤞🏻
Stormy Monday (Allman Bros. Version) is "Not" a Blues Song! Without Diminished Chords, it is simply "Country Rock!
Hi Steve. Very nice. Do you turn the Trio Plus directly into the Amp or to Mix?
Direct..... I have an Amp 1 by Thomas Blug. The record out of the unit is amazing. It goes direct into the input of the Trio +. Thanks for watching
Maybe I misunderstood you... I plug the output of both the loop and the drums/bass into a mixer so that I have 2 separate channels with separate EQ's
Steve, what did your Sleek Craft cost you in 1988?
Hi , it cost $32,000 with trailer and a 330 hp with a carb
How fun! My family and I were going to Lake Mojave from 1966-1972 and watching this video made me really miss those times.
Wow, that is a long time ago. We have owned our boat since 1988. We are nearing the last few years of boat camping. We set off 2 weeks ago to go to Mohave, and our tow vehicle broke down when leaving our house. We will try again in October (maybe)
@@stevewhitton8671 Oh no, good luck next time! I still own the 1966 Steven boat we used to take to the lake. I take it out from time to time. We used to have a 34' houseboat in the Katherine's Landing Marina but it ended up sinking during a bad wind storm.
th-cam.com/video/1Q1oHzd6N50/w-d-xo.html
Here is a video from the last time I was at Lake Mohave.
@@friedfilm Sorry about you houseboat. As you know, these lakes are dangerous during storms. We have been in storms at Lake Powell and Lake Mead. In 2023, I thought we were going to loose our 26' boat in rough water. Oh, our tow vehicle breakdown was a software update to the transmission. So, it was a cheap fix.
How much gas did you use for this trip? We are going to attempt something like this next year but on tritoon. Thanks
That is a great question. I have it in a record somewhere. I know that we burn about 8 to 10 gallons per hour and we have an 80 gallon capacity. With this trip in 2023, we were in Rock Creek because it is more remote. But not a lot of good boat camping. So, to get gas, we had to go back in to Antelope Canyon Marina. That sucks because it is so rough with chop. Back in the day when Dangling Rope marina was open, you could buzz in there with no problem. Keep in mind that it is probably a 20 mile round trip to get gas. In 2022, we travelled to the Rincon (about 70 miles from Wahweap. We did not travel with extra gas. When we go next year, we will. As you know Dangling Rope is no longer there. We boated up to the Rincon which took us 6 hours with stops and lunch. The Rincon was approximately 25 to 30 miles away. So, we went in for gas every other day. The concern is how much gas you burn just to get gas. When we were at the Rincon it was probably a 30 to 45 mile round trip for gas. So, you have to plan for your excursions or water sports accordingly. Check out our 2022 Video of Lake Powell. It is pretty amazing
I looked it up. According to our Garmin 207 gallons used for the week. Total miles travelled on the lake: 387. My wife said we spent about $1,500.00 in gas. Dock prices were over $7.00
Beautifully played Steve. Great tone and it is such an emotional melody. Mikey likey!!
Thanks Chopper -- I love playing this
