Love your Boston video series! I've run it several times and I still find good tips and suggestions. One tip I like is a small, throw-away sports bottle (with spout) to drink my favorite electrolyte mix during the first couple of miles. It's so crowded at the start that I skip the first few fluid stations. If I toss bottle around mile 2-3 then the fluids at mile 4 or 5 are perfect (first is at 2 mi as you mentioned). That sort of jump starts my fluids (esp if warm) without the need for endless port-a-potty lines pre-race from drinking pre-race.
Very nice video. A very useful check. But only two gels at the start line seems to be on the low side, though of course nutrition is highly individual. But many runners take a gel a few minutes before start, and would likely use another three before getting to mile 12. I am planning to consume 7, and to have 5 of those on me (one pre-race, 3 for the course pre-fuel station, 1 backup in case I drop one).
This helped me pack! Thank you!
Awesome! Glad to hear! Thanks for commenting, and hope you have a great race!
Been prepping for days and properly packing my bag tonight!!!
So exciting! Hope you have an amazing time!

Back up is a good idea. I dropped one in my last half marathon and had to turn back to get it. That was painful. 😂
