    David R Lentz, Dublin, Ohio USA This resin kit of the Ford (1958?) N-900 Medium-Duty Conventional Cab Truck looks SO interesting! The lack of any assembly instructions I find deeply daunting. Ideally, I would like at least four, one as a single axle, the second as a double (with several spare parts left over!). The fourth I would place in a contemporary setting, making it look rather worn and world-weary (dents, faded paint, some rusting, etc.), though not to excess. Have you since finished your build of this kit? If so, have you made a video of it? Would you have made an after-the-fact assembly instructions that might facilitate our efforts in building the kit? On a personal note, I hope you are feeling well. I know firsthand what chronic illness and physical disabilities can mean to people.

    These Dodge cabs do not have a tilt hood. They have a conventional type hood and the front fenders swing out from the sides hinged at either side of the radiator.

    I saved my fifty cents allowance for weeks, until I saved the $5.00 plus shipping in 1969. Mailed the money to my cousin in Edina, MN who picked it up at the hobby shop and mailed it to me. But I recall the 40' Fruehauf van trailer kit I bought later had the coupon for the bunk kit. Cost a dollar

    Not horrific at all but definitely not for beginners, the seam in the cab and lack of parts numbers is the only real problem. Plus if you plan the edges of that cabinet, the interior won’t fit it’s already tight enough.

    I have watched this video several times and you give some nice info on frame stretching. Recently I subscribed to your channel and it's chocked full of good info. Currently I'm working on stretching a Peterbilt Revell kit 85-2627 Level 5. Out of the box it looks roughly to be 9-3/8 inch equivalent to roughly 234 inch wheel base. I'm looking to add 3 inches with the splice precisely between two cross members of which the carrier bearing being on the forward cross member of the two. I've got some Plastruct C-Channel on order but the exact height of rails isn't available from my supplier. So I ordered the next size smaller and next size bigger. I have some 1/2 I-beam Plastruct that I've been carving to size and will probably make extra cross members as well. The carrier bearing I will have to build from scratch unless you know of a source where I can order from on carrier bearings. In closing any advice would be appreciated. On a humorous side, If you want to make diesel fuel I know a guy that's old school and blends Marvel Mystery Oil with gasoline. Thanks!

    Thanks a ton for the review of this model kit as I was looking to purchase one to build! It's a real shame that everything tractor related seems to be 1/16 and pre-built. I understand the popularity in that of course, it would just be nice to have various model kit options and in 1/25 to match the trucks! Thanks again! Looking forward to picking up several of the classic Ertl kits.

    Thank you,good information, if you had any trucking experience you would understand the concept, build a peterbilt year ago with a 3408 engine,without any parts available I wanted to extend the frame,add custom exhaust stacks,20,30 yrs.later I don't know if they're available anymore,I think they were 1/16,1/8 scale,later came out with flat bed trailer...where can you fine? keep up the good work 👍☕️☕️✌️

    Ben, Great video! I agree with you Dave Natalie & Gary Wallace were some of the greats in the Model Truck building hobby! Taken away too soon. I knew Gary for about 40 years or so. Way before he started casting truck parts. He always had many ideas to make parts for everyone. Dave was the one that took Jim Etter's cab business and ran with the ball!!! Thanks for what you do!!!

    Glad to have found your channel and like so many other builders here I find your tips and tricks invaluable, But I just wanted to add a little real world truck knowledge to what you said about tanks not having seams you are correct about model tanks and the way that they are made the seam does not belong or are made with a horizontal seam but with that said I had a 1996 Ford LTL9000 Aeromax ordered it with 2 500 gal. fuel tanks one per side but we took the passenger side tank cut it in half welded in a divider then welded the tank back together and made 2 aprox. 250 gal. tanks out of the one and plumbed the back half of said tank for Hydraulic oil for a wet kit for the goose neck of my lowboy trailer. So I ended up with a vertical seam around my tank it was highly polished to a mirror but still you could see a seam I did it that way so I didn't have that unsightly plastic tank that Muncie supplied with their wet kits that was supposed to be mounted on the catwalk behind the sleeper. It was one of 3 Trucks that I showed at the MidAmerica Truck Shows in Louisville Ky. under working class so on a couple of my truck build I incorporated the same seam on them just because I always thought what we done was pretty cool on how to hide a Hyd. tank

    Yes, those 1/43 IXO trucks have been a solid source of $$ extraction from my wallet. Their WFL daycab has been a winner for me. Plan to convert it to single headlight CF, and CME fleet. I have been bugging them to come out with a 1974 VIT KW 925 which you know a certain TV show... Yeah, never liked those whacky Revell hard tires, even back then when I was a kid! Truck question i've been searching, what year did the modern open type car hauler trailer ( like Revell Germany kit) come out? Thanks for posting, always good to see and hear what's out there.

    • @lotso69
      @lotso69 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the Revell Peterbilt 359 first came out in 1982 so I’m gonna guess that the car carrier came out around 1985.
