Shoutouts to the people who actually put "Video Essay" in the title of their video, thus warping what were once fun, nerdy, deep dives into a pretentious homework assignment in a vain attempt to look "intellectual".

I remember back in the day I criticized Mauler a lot and people didn't understand what I was saying. I said that, "As a person who struggles with brevity, brevity is king and Mauler has no idea how to be brief". I got a lot of smack talk for it but I meant what I said, because no matter how bad The Last Jedi was, it shouldn't take FIVE TIMES THE MOVIE'S RUN TIME IN ORDER TO EXPLAIN WHY. People call that rant "legendary", I call it a "complete waste of time". I mean really, on what planet should it ever take more than a few minutes to say "The script is bad", show a few examples and then move on to the next issue with the film as opposed to just... Covering the movie, piece by piece, constantly stopping and saying the same things... It is in such a loose, disorganized, drawn out fashion that the viewer basically has to take notes or do a supercut of it just to get the substance out of it. It's a rough draft that goes on for 10 times longer than it needs to. If you couldn't explain what was wrong in that film within an hour, you failed the task and you have simply created a piece of media JUST AS FLAWED as the target of your criticism.
