No offense, but this isn't disrespect. All they were doing was saying the obvious, that he wasn't the favorite and didn't have any experience. They do this with all players at that stage, if they even talk about them at all. On top of that, he lost this match, so not sure what the point is.

Federer lacked the warrior spirit that characterized Djokovic and Nadal. That was a difference maker in the biggest matches and the biggest moments. His style was also so heavy on technique and more complex than Nole and Rafa, it was more prone to breaking down under the ultimate pressure of those most significant matches. At the end of the day, it’s a sport not an exhibition. When you have a poor record against your chief competitors when it counts most, you’re not the GOAT.

Roger faced a bunch of inconcistent noobs injury prone players between 2003-2007 period..Safin-Baghdatis-Hewitt-Roddick-Nalbadian-Davydenko-Gonzalez-Blakde LOL even Medvedev the noob has achieved far more than all these noobs combined!..Including a 19 year old Djokovic and 20 year old Nadal both too young and not mature enoupgh to really challenge ROger in that time..From 2008 onwards Roger stopped winning simply becasue competition got toupgher and tougher and he only got 1 garand slam win against Novak after 2009 ! He only beat Novak in WImbledon 2012 since then he never beat Novak in slams ever again! Roger was pure disapointement really when competition got tougher

It’s still hard to accept that it’s over. I hope Fed plays some exos again one day and we see him on court properly again.

It's amazing to see his movement before his back problems started in 2008-2015....

His net play was good but I would rank other players next game as better or more natural including Pete Sampras, McEnroe and even Tim Henman (at least when Tiger Tim beat Fed at Wimbledon) 🇬🇧🧐🎾

Federer is nowhere near the best volleyer in history. This is as laughably wrong as claiming Alcaraz has the best backhand in history because he's consistent and hits amazing winners with it. Edberg, McEnroe, Pete, Henman, Rafter, Becker, were all significantly better volleyers.

I used to think no way Federer was a better volleyer than Edberg or Mac but taking into consideration the fact that the ball has so much more spin and speed compared to 30 or 40 years ago, I might change my mind. I try to imagine if Edberg or Mac was playing in Federer’s error, they would not have so much success at the net with the passing shots coming in with so much spin, speed, and precision. And no way Nadal is better at the net when he only comes in for the kill shot.

Djokovic and Nadal made peak Federer cry multiple times, like literally in tears. I find Djokovic better both in physical and mental form.

Federer has a great transition game and is a better volleyer than Novak, Rafa and many other's..
