Demidov should have been the pick IMO. Pulling for Artie now that he’s here, but it would have been easier (and less expensive) to sign a solid right handed D man in free agency within the next few years than to find a young highly skilled potential dynamic duo option with Bedard. You can’t teach a guy to have the creativity/skill of a guy like Demidov. Those skillsets only come around every once in a while and I have a feeling we just passed up on one of the better future goal scorers/playmakers in the NHL for a guy that may not even be a #1 or 2 defensemen for the Hawks. The Hawks need goal scorers and right now I’m not sold on any of the forwards in our farm being able to have a major impact in the NHL outside of maybe Nazar. Moore isn’t even in the top 5 players on his team (Minnesota) at the college level from a point production standpoint and who else do we really have in the pipeline to score with Bedard? (maybe kantserov? but that’s a big leap). Hoping this all comes together in the next couple years but right now it seems the organization is going to have major issues with goal production for some time.

I know this happened a while ago but.... Rule 6.12 (a) 4 "A player has both skates over the blue-line, but the puck is still on the blue-line. Potential OFF-SIDE, but not until the puck completely crosses the blue-line." So since the puck did cross the line it became delayed offside, Sherwood tagged the blue line before continuing playing the puck so play became legal.

Because the face off was won by the blackhawks that’s why.. read the rule book

The puck clearly left the zone therefore its offside.

That’s not offsides. Hawks fans are just whiny

It’s the right call. Sherwood got onside before playing the puck in the offensive zone. You can be upset about how the rules work but this goal is fair as well as all the goals that will be scored this way. As close of a play as it was it’s an even better heads up play by Sherwood to get himself onside. We’ve seen it before and we’ll see it again

It’s TECHNICALLY the right call, but still horseshit. I guarantee if the linesman saw that puck go out in real time, he wouldn’t have the wherewithal to say “well, actually he tagged up before touching the puck again” Would’ve been blown dead without a second thought

The linesmen are human beings. Should they show up at your job and point out all of your mistakes?

I was there. It was clear as day when it happened live. It was even more clear on replay, and was the clearest when they slowed that replay down. So with that said, I wasn’t surprised when the refs ref’d it up. Awful!

Yes, they are improved by the addition of free agent vets but we still have a long way to go before reaching (1) the playoffs and (2) contending for the Cup [and (3) actually winning the Cup]. I expect it'll be a fun ride! #GoBlackhawks

See I'm surprised he said that because (0:18), what games was he watching? Levshunov's main flaw is his decision making is very weird, he will sometimes make plays that makes no sense, like racing a winger to the puck at the offensive blueline, where it proceeds to get chipped past him for 2 on 1. Levshunov can be a #1 defencemen, that set combination of tools: size, strength and skating, it is hard to come by. There is a reason why NHL gm's like to pick this type of player (Reinbacher and Seider are 2 recent big D risers with smooth skating and raw tools in their draft). For me, it just seems like an unnecessary risk when there are defencemen I like more next year. To be fair, the offensive crop is great but you could have had an almost guaranteed dynamic duo.

Korch and Levshunov will be a dangerous top D pair for the Hawks

Good to know who to blame if he's a bust and Demidov becomes a star.
