I'm planning to do some "getting started" tutorials soon, and slide is one of the first on my list. It's easy -- I picked it up about 2 years ago. You're a much better player than me, so you would have no problems. In the mean time, check out Ry Cooder and Justin Johnson, I learned by watching them!
