$200 amps don’t always mean they’re bad. As long as it’s outputting what they claim, there’s no reason it shouldn’t move that JL sub as much as a $1000 amp. The Hifonics Brutus amp I bought it high school has lasted well over a decade. Granted I was pushing two Rockford P2’s, so it was running about 70% of what it was rated for.

JL audio was only good back in the 90s

A EVL skar would sound better than that on a taraamps 1200

I have a factory alternator and a 5k amp but I have a 40ah LTO bank and it's pretty hard for me to run out of power. I have to play a sinewave for minutes straight at full tilt (clamping 3.5k power after box rise) before I start to see the lower end of 12v. Simply saying "the alternator should be first" is not only wrong, it's wrong. Which one you do first depends on what music you play, and how you use your system.

Every hobby has to have its entry level cheaper items or else hobby’s wouldn’t exist. I think kicker knows this and that’s why they sell at Walmart etc. if you got kicker and it sounds amazing good for you.

OK 2 12s 2500rmscea, Ds18 8k1, 1000$ in ofc cable, ultra cap, optimas. Should ve at 5000watt@2ohm. Continuously going into distortion warming. Do you A-upgrade the 400$ jvc head unit, B-chase wiring. (Frame ground blocks , seperate for mains, cap,and amp, and obviously mechman goes to its own frame block). And yes 100= throwing a 200$ amp on a W6 is insanity 🙄 😂

An honest car audio retailer will educate the customer. Explain to him let's upgrade your electrical before you sell him an expensive subwoofer. Build him a foundation so he can upgrade later and realize you sold him a $700 turd.

How many can you run before you have power issues?

So for my first build I want to do two 8" 2 ohm 250rms 500max. Will a 500 watt amp power both? Or am I supposed to get a 1000 watt amp to divide between both¿ 🤔

Hahahahaha....i had a 13.5 w7 on a 4k tarantula. 350$ amp in 2012. Ran it for hours on end in a custom box amd it out performed my buddy who had a jl 1000/1 amp. Cost is nothing if you know what youre looking for.
