@@derionmukhztalfa7668 oh wow, thanks for all the recommendations, I got a lot of homework to do, so many bands I’m not familiar with, Japan is a rich source of incredible bands I have yet to discover , thanks to you , I will lol cheers 🤘🏻
Lovebites???
So many great Japanese metal bands, I also recommend: Maximum The Hormone, Paledusk, Jiluka, Merging Moon and if you don't mind clean vocals and pop elements mixed in...Babymetal is taking the world by storm right now (they've done tours in 5 continents) with a wide variety of metal styles and collaborations as well.
@@technosworld2 cool I’ll check those bands out , always down to discover new bands , I could never get into Baby Metal, love the music and guitars , vocals maybe are just a little too poppy for me sometimes 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown no worries man
Never knew Flower Travelling Band were Japanese! You learn something new every day. I'll have to check out that album, I do like me a bit of the old proto-metal. Never heard of Church Of Misery but they sound fun. My own Japanese collection consists of 3 Loudness albums and one album by Vow Wow - Helter Skelter. The title track is a cover of the Beatles tune. They were quite popular for a while in the 80s. One band and album I can recommend is Significant Point. Into The Storm, heavy/speed metal not unlike early Loudness.
@@petegreenfield3645 yeah the Sitori album from Flower Travelling Band is heavy especially the first track Church of Misery is a great band , heavy Doomy riffs, thick sound , incredible. I need to get more albums form Loudness , Anthem and church of Misery for my collection 🤘🏻 I’ll definitely check out that band Significant Point
Nemophila 🔥❤️ New album coming( first one as a 4 piece band) coming in a month 👍👍
@@bocatampere very cool , will look forward to checking it out 🤘🏻
@ They have been very active in social media recently. New tour starts in February and in May 6th they have concert where they perform their every song 😅 45-50songs 😲 They said it will be something like 4 hours set 😅 And..after Saki left last spring, there were some questions how they gonna manage without but it seems that they are even better now, tighter unit. Their liveshows are crazy metalfests now. In last ones Mayu was stagediving etc..
No Devin Townsend or Strapping Young Lad? FAIL.
lol I do like both , just didn’t quite make my list , just personal preference
HE DOES NOT MISS🔥🔥🔥
Loved most of the list . Enjoyed the Vid , thanks CAMCURSE
I know Canadians were awake to Damaged/Do Not Spit in the early 90s. An Australian band but the debut was very influential in the underground.
First of all, congrats on your first 2025 video. I will give some Japanese metal a listen one day because this scene is new for me. Which band do you recommend to begin with?
@@ShayShechter thanks man, any from the list are great , depends what type of metal you like in general , if you like thrash check out Outrage or FastKill, doom metal Church of misery , more traditional metal X Japan , anthem or Loudness 🤘🏻
I don’t know many Japan bands unfortunately. I’m going to check out outrage though. Cheers
Some great bands out of the east for sure , I think you’ll dig Outrage 🤘🏻
Out of those bands in that list; Loudness and X Japan were the ones I recognized. Awesome list of underrated Japanese bands, Jeremy.
@@tainted_lord87 thanks man, highly recommend checking them out , some really great bands in the East 🤘🏻

@@petegreenfield3645 great picks Pete, love you had a lot of newer stuff on this list , many I would agree are essential to any metalheads collection 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown i think you would get along with my No.16 pick, best described as Vektor meets Opeth!
@@petegreenfield3645 damn really? I’m sold lol usually any band I’m not familiar with that you post in comments I wrote down and check out , have been all bangers 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown It's their second full album, their debut EP sounds more like Testament so they're progressing with each release.
7:20, master of reality, piece of nostalgy, and an excellent review!
Another intriguing and varied list there Jeremy. Terminal Redux is one of my favourite albums of all time, got to see them live in Manchester a couple of years ago in a small club venue. They actually have 3 full albums with Outer Isolation the follow up to Black Future. 7th Son is one of my favourite Maiden albums, love The Clairvoyant in particular. It's probably an age thing but never got or liked Nu Metal. I knew a guy whose favourite band was Linkin Park but I never understood the appeal. in fairness though I feel the same about most metal bands that emerged in that era I'll have a look at my rankings lists I'm sure I can find another 20 classics so I'll post it in a bit!
@@petegreenfield3645 yeah Vektor is a great technical thrash band , I need to pick up their 3 albums on cd still , never got to see them live yet. The first 7 maiden albums are all masterpieces imo , 7th son was their last GREAT album. Over all I don’t like Nu Metal , but for some reason liked Linkin Park , it was mostly Chester vocals 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown They were huge over here for a while. My friend and I went to Download in 2014 when Linkin Park headlined. but the timings clashed with the second stage headliners so we never saw em!
It's starting at 4:06 here that I lose it every time
@@trudehunnicutt8214 incredible performance by two legends 🤘🏻
@metalmusicmeltdown yeah, I saw Queen several times beginning in 1975so I have been in the rabbit hole for 50 years and not even trying to find a way out.
So did a CD Haul yesterday. Here's a list of what I got Lita Ford - Stiletto Lamb of God - Wrath Therion - Symphony Masses (Ho Drakon, Ho Megas) Haematemesis - Unpleasant Experiments Cattle Decapitation - Terrasite Necrot - The Labyrinth Fleshcrawl - Into the Catacombs of Flesh Grave - Into the Grave (incl Tremendous Pain 7" EP + Demos) Skeletal Remains - The Entombment of Chaos
@@christopherbarker1048 very nice, great pick ups , nice variety, collection coming along nicely dude 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown I know last year my CD collection sat at 128. I have it written down but said list is at me aunt's place. I'll have to get her to bring it next time I see her.
@@christopherbarker1048 I didn’t realize you had a channel and posted some videos with your collection I’ll sub and check out your collection. 🤘🏻
So far, a great list of essential metal albums to have. Good to see Iron Maiden, Annihilator, Cannibal Corpse and Forbidden.
@@tainted_lord87 thanks Tony , I’m sure the series will stop eventually lol 🤘🏻
I have listened to nicks and heart forever. Fleetwood Mac I prob listen to most days. But both hold a special place in my heart cause they were the last two things I did with dad before he passed. Saw them both a week and half apart.
Also is Amy Lee rock cause if she is she is pure power
I don’t have a problem with this list although nicks is my all time fav and is 1 or 2 on most lists I’ve seen but I can’t argue Ann Wilson’s range
@@mikemiller4726 there’s no denying Stevie Nicks talent she’s great 🤘🏻
Not bad for a 9 year old. Take a fifties classic song by Screaming Jay Hawkins, arrange the music and then sing like a 40 year old jazz singer. This girl is a gift to us all. Welcome to Angelina's world.
The Possesed gatefold illustration is absolutely insanely good. The first real metal band to have a gatefold.
@@Azazagoth agreed the gatefold is so good 🤘🏻
Destruction for sure. Very underrate thrash metal band all time. Can't wait for them to tour back in the USA. Can't wait for the new anthrax album, been a long time since the last album.
Destruction is definitely one of my most anticipated for sure , love all their albums they never disappoint 🤘🏻
Noice I might get a CD Haul this coming weekend. How many I'll get is to be determined.
@@christopherbarker1048 very cool 🤘🏻
Great pick ups, Jeremy! I'm glad you got the latest Suicidal Angels, Holy Moses and High on Fire.
Thanks, yeah I’m so far behind on getting new releases on physical format , glad ie as able to pick up a few for a good price 🤘🏻
Suicidal Angels have no bad albums, I'd like to own them all too! Only discovered them myself last few years. Was gutted when they cancelled their UK tour, had tickets!
@@petegreenfield3645 I don’t know how I’ve missed them all these years , definitely a band I want to get their pekoe discography over time , great thrash 🤘🏻
Really hoping the long awaited new Coroner album comes out this year. Love Coroner, hoping for UK dates!
@@petegreenfield3645 I didn’t know they were working on a new album , that would be a great release 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown Touring Canada in the new year i believe!
@@petegreenfield3645 yeah looks like they have a date in March , nice small 400 capacity venue I might have to go, I’ve never got to se them live yet 🤘🏻
I love that Suicidal Angels album. Their discography is hard to find and cost a lot unfortunately. Cheers and Merry Christmas brother.
@@MetalNeverDieswithMarkA yeah incredible band , I don’t know how they went under my radar for so many years, I’ll definitely try to get all their albums over time , they have the newest album on Amazon for even less then I got it for it only $11.90 right now but yeah all their older albums look to be $20 plus each , Merry Christmas 🎄 🤘🏻
@ I got years of aggression on Amazon for a good price.
@@MetalNeverDieswithMarkA yeah. If patient can get some really good deals for sure
Doro! This is a sick cover! BTW, doro sang the song "we are the metalheads," which became associated with Wacken
@@ShayShechter agreed cool album cover , I’ve been needing to add some Doro to my collection for years , the Queen of Metal 🤘🏻
A quick addition : just found out Chemicide has a new album due to be released on 02/28/2025 , incredible trash band out of Costa Rica 🤘🏻
A year of thrash would be sick!! Death metal has been ruling the last two years on my opinion
I don’t check out nearly as much death metal as you do lol last year I would say was definitely a death metal year, this year idk a tonne of insane thrash came out , I need to check out more death metal albums each year , dude that debut Eternal album you reviewed this year was incredible , pretty much was my number 11 for the year 🤘🏻
Let's hope that the albums will bring good in 2025
I’m think they definitely, 2025 is already lining up to be another great year for metal with incredible bands with confirmed dates 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown you're right
Hopefully Sacrifice, Obscura, Dream Theater, The Halo Effect, and Hirax will bring the good in 2025.
@@tainted_lord87 I thing they will all deliver some great albums next year, can’t wait 🤘🏻

I miss Mayhemic, Vltimas and The Crown. Also that crypt sermon album was really great.
Quite good list except shit like Dream Theater and Mastadon.
@@jonaskazlauskas9084 I love both those albums , I’m not as big of a Dream Theatre fan but I love most of Mastodons Catalog , it all personal preference 🤘🏻
Stellar picks Jeremy, the only albums I’m not familiar with are the Mastadon and Autopsy records. The Whiplash album is very underrated, they never bettered that.
