LOL I don't like the album cover either...but the album and your review rocks!
@@russwaehler1 yeah I’m not a fan of digital art style, album is definitely solid but surprisingly I haven’t been going back to it much, and thanks 🤘🏻
Shovel headed kill machine is the best album 😂
lol I don’t know about that , but ok lol 🤘🏻
Great picks, there's only Khemmis I'm unfamiliar with. Not the easiest list to compile, so many great bands, had a shortlist of 20 and i narrowed it down to these bands... 1. Exodus 2. Y&T 3. Slayer 4. Aerosmith 5. Dio 6. Metallica 7. Manowar 8. Megadeth 9. Death 10.Testament HM's, Grand Funk, Van Halen, Montrose, Kiss
great picks, somehow I overlooked the Dio solo band , definitely would have been contender for my list , were so many incredible bands, hard to leave so many off 🤘🏻
1. Metallica 2. Blue Oyster Cult 3. Queensryche ('83-'94/'13-'22) 4. Van Halen ('78-'84) 5. Pantera ('88-'00) 6. Danzig 7. Megadeth 8. Dio 9. Savatage 10. KISS ('74-'83) 11. Overkill 12. Riot Honorable mentions: * The Jimi Hendrix Experience * Alice Cooper * Montrose * ZZ Top * Y&T * Virgin Steele * Alcatrazz * Dokken * Metal Church * Ratt * Armored Saint * Cirith Ungol * Fates Warning * Anthrax * Samhain * Jag Panzer * Slayer * Crimson Glory * Joe Satriani * Guns N' Roses * Hellion * King's X * Impellitteri * Chastain * Soundgarden * Faith No More * Dream Theater * Alice in Chains * Prong * Iced Earth * Mr. Bungle * White Zombie * Tool * Type O Negative * Symphony X * Mastodon * Michael Romeo
@@kevinbrown1893 wow what a list , great picks , I forgot about Dio solo band somehow dang would definitely be strong contender for my main list too, Mastodon was another band that barely didn’t make my list 🤘🏻
Awesome top 10 list of U.S. bands! Death Angel, Slayer, Exodus, Havok, Khemmis, Metallica, Death, etc. All great bands you chose!
@@tainted_lord87 thanks , was hard to narrow down to only 10, so many great bands had to leave off the list 🤘🏻
Dude the singer looks like an Indian you!
Solid collection! Good to see Mastodon, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Opeth and Overkill.
Blood In Blood Out is one of my favorite Exodus albums in their catalog. This band definitely deserves to be more recognizable like Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Exodus to me are a perfectly rated band with some memorable albums throughout their existence. Pretty solid ranking for sure!
@@seditionthroughscorns love that album, the best of their later period material imo and agreed they are deserving to be in same conversation as Metallica , Megadeth slayer etc 🤘🏻
Good ranking Jeremy. Exodus has been my no.1 thrash band since Bonded was released back in 85 and was the third thrash album I owned after the first two Metallica albums. No.1 for me is an easy choice as are the bottom two. The rest are all classics in my opinion. 1. Bonded By Blood 2. Tempo Of The Damned 3. Pleasures Of The Flesh 4. Blood In, Blood Out 5. Shovel Headed Kill Machine 6. Exibit B - The Human Condition 7. Persona Non Grata 8. Exhibit A - The Atrocity Exhibition 9. Fabulous Disaster 10.Force Of Habit 11.Impact Is Imminent
@@petegreenfield3645 thanks Pete , great ranking as well, yeah love Exodus , love the intensity, Gary Holts riffs are insane, Bonded by Blood clear number one for sure and looks like we same opinion in two weakest , solid catalog over all. I unfortunately didn’t discover them till a little later , in the late 90s based on my age , but was hooked right away 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown An honorable mention too to the live album with Baloff, Another Lesson In Violence, best live thrash album ever I reckon.
Great choices!
@@Blackmetal-death-thrash thanks 🤘🏻
I am one of the ones who thinks Fabulous Disaster is overrated. My top three would be : Pleasures of the Flesh, Bonded By Blood, and Fabulous Disaster.
@@vovindequasahi great picks 🤘🏻
Exodus should belong to the Thrash Trio instead of Anthrax. Kirk Hammett came from this band. It shouldn't be the three to begin with, It should be Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, and Exodus. My favorite album from Exodus is Pleasures of the Flesh. That is when they had the perfect balance of musicality and heaviness, imo. The Rob Dukes stuff is just too heavy and monotone imo... It gets tiresome to listen to. It has that same cadence as Slayer God Hates Us All, where it just never lets up and it gets boring. I miss the interplays with Holt and Hunolt, the instrumentals and the dynamics of Pleasures... To me that was the best they ever did. Tempo of the Damned is awesome too. And of course the Bonded By Blood demonic evil shit!
@@vovindequasahi great take on it my friend , for me personally my big 4 of thrash has always been Metallica , Slayer, Testament and Exodus , unpopular opinion but I’ve never been a massive Megadeth guy, a few of their albums are iconic. I can see that with Pleasures of the flesh it is definitely a well balanced album 🤘🏻
@@metalmusicmeltdown I agree 100% with you bro!
Excellent Exodus ranking!
@@tainted_lord87 thanks 🤘🏻
Awesome diverse metal collection! Nice to see All That Remains, Accept, AC/DC, Between the Buried and Me, Alestorm, Wintersun and Primordial.
Thanks , I like most sub genres of metal and rock , only ones I could never really get into were straight Black metal and Nu Metal. Otherwise, like to change it up and listen to different styles 🤘🏻
Bloodbath. The Fathomless Mastery Hate Eternal.. Upon desolate sands Aeon ..Aeons black
I don’t know if I’ve heard the Hate Eternal album , I’ll have to check it out 🤘🏻
Is Ian Gillan still alive?
lol yes
Great!! Good to know. Thank you
Janis!
Killer collection brother
Thanks man 🤘🏻
the album doesn't have a bad song on it , Simon is a beast on the guitar , great fit for them !
The sound is amazing a cross between possessed and pestilence. Fantastic I need more hopefully all the albums are like this
@@jamesmikelskasjr.64 all their albums are great highly recommend 🤘🏻
L take. Tarja is the best. Also, it's funny you call them a band when it's just a Tuomas solo project. You'll be disappointed to his recent interview as to he expressly treats his band members and their contribution replace than the music itself. It's just a matter of timne before Floor left Nightwish.
Some good picks there Jeremy! I'm not a huge Death Metal fan by any means, but i do love Death, they never made a bad album. I did jam that latest Horrendous record, i thought that was a really good, inventive, progressive Death Metal album. Some newer underground bands make my list, mostly playing technical/progressive Death Metal which is how I like it! 1. Death - Spiritual Healing 2. Cryptic Shift - Visitations From Encladus 3. Dawn Of Decline - Steel For Flesh 4. Sovereign - Altered Realities 5, Horrendous - Ontological Mysterium 6. Blasteroid - Crypts Of Mind 7. Hellwitch - Annihilation Intercention 8. Death - Symbolic 9. Death - Individual Thought Patterns 10.Incult - The Burnt Offering 11.After The Abduction - Cracked And Bled 12.Death - Human 13. Death - Scream Bloody Gore 14. Possessed - Beyond The Gates 15. Immolation - Acts Of God 16. Memoriam - Rise To Power 17. Death - Leprosy 18. Possessed - Seven Churches 19. Cattle Decapitation - Terrasite 20. Entombed - Left Hand Path
Yeah I’m the same , death metal has any my go to sub genre but I do enjoy a lot of the original first wave of bands , I’m very selective on newer death metal bands but a few really impress me , like the Horrendous album , it blew my mind . Agreed Death probably have the strongest catalog across all of metal imo. Great picks, there’s a few bands on your list I’ve not heard of, will check them out , cheers Pete 🤘🏻
I like it.
Just listened through the entire album twice in a row. Killer!
@@bobjonkman2021 yeah man , it’s a killer album I was blown away. Will definitely be on my year end list very high 🤘🏻
Great review. Purple is one of the few bands where the songs get better every time you play them.
@@thetruthhurts6652 thanks , and I agree the more I listen to this album the more I’m liking it , a solid release 🤘🏻
Wucan are great. Heretic Tongues was my top album of 2022.
Rock solid. Seems whenever purple's back is to the wall / enter a new member... They deliver the goods.
@@micolsen9824 agreed 🤘🏻
It is absolutely your prerogative to make it a Rock - Metal mix list but in my opinion Fleetwood Mac and Heart really don't fit here. I know Rock bands with female vocals are rarer and maybe that lead you to your decision to make a mixed list. For Rock bands I would also add Fairport Convention (they are more on the Folk side but nevertheless great band), X-Ray Spex, 4 Non Blondes. For the Metal part (since I don't know some of the bands on your list, or for some of them only by name.) I would go with The Gathering , Lacuna Coil and Girlschool . As an oldschool metalhead I would probably put Doro of Warlock in the first spot.
Yeah I decided just to do as one compete list , Doro is definitely Great the Queen of Metal 🤘🏻 I like your other picks as well , especially Girls School, I completely over looked them, great choice
Ann Wilson tops any list of mine by a country mile. Crazy On You blew me away when I first heard back in the day! Marta Gabriel from Crystal Viper is one of my faves of the modern era, great guitarist too.
There’s no denying the Ann’s greatness such an incredible voice and so much power , and nice deep cut Marta Gabriel is a great vocalist as well 🤘🏻
Yip
Interesting I should listen to it
Great list but there's one I'd like to add and that is 3 Inches Of Blood.
@@russdavies9686 thanks , and great pick , love 3 inches of blood great band 🤘🏻
After uploading this video I realized I completely overlooked a band that should have made my list. That band is Lucifer fronted by Johanna Sadonis. Their first 5 Albums are all home runs , if you like 70s occult hard rock style with great locals check Lucifer out. Some other quick Honourable mentions : Blues Pill, Crypta , Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy, The Agonist , Kittie.
1. Rush 2. Annihilator 3. April Wine 4. Exciter 5. Triumph 6. Razor 7. Anvil 8. Voivod
Great picks Kevin , I debated on Anvil but ended up going with another band , what’s your favourite Rush Album ?
For me it would go like this: #1: Blasphemy #2: Strapping Young Lad #3: Cryptopsy (flawless first two albums, everything else is terrible though) #4: Gorguts #5: Revenge #6: Slaughter (not the god-awful glam band of the same name) #7: Demonarchy #8: Witches Hammer #9: Death Worship #10: Spectral Wound
Great picks , it pained me to leave off Cryptopsy and Gorguts , Strapping young Lad is great too. Yes the good Slaughter lol love the Strapado album , 🤘🏻cheers
Great list. There's a ton of great music from Canada. I'd have to give mention to these three punk bands as well Sub-Humans Dayglo Abortions D.O.A.
Thanks, I’m normally not the biggest punk guy, but I’m always down to hear new bands, I’ll check them out 🤘🏻
Great picks, can't go wrong with Rush, Voivod, Triumph, Tea Party, Annihilator and all those newer thrash bands. Slave Agent are another great new thrash band, especially their debut. Some great hard rock bands in the 70's too worth a mention - Heart April Wine Bachman Turner Overdrive Anvil Helix to name just a few. Cheers.
Thanks, yeah was definitely a hand full of bands that instantly came to my mind. I don’t think I’ve hard Slave Agent will have to check it out . I considered Anvil, BTO, and Helix but ended up going either the of school thrash bands I had more history with. I always considered Heart and American band , cause I associate Ann Wilson but yeah I guess technically were formed in Canada , cheers Pete 🤘🏻
Night 1.. ok. Night 2 is better. The camera work. T hey drop that weird effect in for Roger's voice. This was the trial run sort of lol. I like it
Do some of Roger's solo work.. future management or man on fire
Feed your fantasy is good.
No sabes de lo que hablas a dimash le sobra calidez y pasión no tienes mi like 😊

Thanks for the shout out brother. ❤
@@MetalNeverDieswithMarkA no problem brother 🤘🏻
To think Perfect Strangers was a comeback album for DP 40 years ago!
i listened to Ballistic Sadistic a couple of nights ago, great album, one of their best after those classic first two albums. i saw Annihilator on the Never Neverland tour, Nottingham Rock City, so good. Great to see the Tea Party featured, loved their first two albums. The Edges Of Twilight was the best album of 95 and I was lucky enough to seem them play in a club venue on that tour. Some of the best musicians I ever saw. I used to cover Shadows On The Mountain Side on acoustic guitar back in the day when I gigged.
@@petegreenfield3645 yeah a lot of their later material is really solid , people usually only refer to their first two albums , their whole discography is pretty solid. I love the Tea Party such a unique sound , Tea Party is probably one of the bands I’ve seen most in my concert going career , if I had to guess saw them probably 15-20 times saw them all the time back in the day they played all the time. And very cool that would be a cool cover 🤘🏻
Great list. I'm definitely not an expert on thrash metal and it is not my favorite subgenre of metal, but I do loves me some good thrash which encompasses other styles. If I had a list I would definitely include '80s Metallica, Megadeth, Overkill, Annihilator, and Slayer. Nightmare Logic is a great pick, by the way. I'm old...school, so I usually prefer '80s style thrash that is laden with heavy and speed elements and with as little punk rock as possible. I would pick albums from the usual suspects: And Justice for All, Master of Puppets, Peace Sells, Rust in Peace, Alice In Hell, Never Neverland, Metal Curch (s/t), Taking Over, The Years of Decay, Horrorscope, Forbidden Evil, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss, Arise and a few others.
@@kevinbrown1893 thanks man , all your picks are all great , thrash was the easiest sub genre for me to start series with since it’s my favourite sub genre , 90% of my list I could pick right away , classic albums that have always been my favourites for many years. And yeah had to put nightmare logic is just too good. I’m trying to to decide what sub genre to do next , cheers 🤘🏻
Splendid list. I don't know Holy Grail so I'll be giving that a listen! I never really got into Dark Angel, I found their sound a bit muddy. Enjoyed watching them live though and Gene Hoglan killed it on the drums. All the rest are killer and would make at least my long list. Recently checked out the Power Trip album which was excellent, doesn't quite make my list though. i'll avoid duplicate bands otherwise half the Exodus catalogue would be on there lol...Quite a few newer bands make my list but they all slay so they deserve their place. 1. Exodus - Bonded By Blood 2. Slayer - Reign In Blood 3. Meliah Rage - Kill To Survive 4. Metallica - Ride The Lightning 5. Vektor - Black Future 6. Kreator - Phantom Antichrist 7. Bestial Invasion - Divine Comedy: Inferno 8. Sepultura - Beneath The Remains 9. Sodom - Genesis XiX 10.Demonztrator - Sinister Forces Of Hatred 11.Legion Of The Damned - The Poison Chalice 12.Angelus Apatrida - Hidden Evolution 13.Anarchy - The Spectrum Of Human Emotion (my current fave of 2024) 14.Extinctcide - Woods Of Fire 15.Traitor - Knee Deep In The Dead 16.Destruction - Infernal Overkill 17. Killdozer - Seeds Of Vengeance 18. Hexenhaus - Deja Voodoo 19. Coroner - No More Color 20.Overkill - The Grinding Wheel HM's Voivod - Killing Technology Angel Dust - Into The Dark Past Biowarfare - Wiping Out Human Race Prayers Of Sanity - Doctrine Of Misanthropy Kobold - Chaos Head Metal Church - Metal Church It could go on forever this list lol..
Great list Pete, definitely check out the Holy Grail album it’s great , your list is a good blend of new and old, I’d pained me leaving off a lot of the newer thrash bands , but I went with albums I had more history with . I’m assuming Exodus is your favourite thrash band lol I might do another list of top thrash metal albums of just new era bands separate from this all time list series 🤘🏻
Sick! List! You can’t go wrong with any of those albums. Power Trip deserves to be up there. They helped a lot of kids to get into thrash. Cheers Jer
Thanks man, and yeah they definitely exposed new generation to thrash for sure, such a beast of an album , cheers 🤘🏻
Sounds like "DEEP PURPLE"...a truly great band. Compare this to the shite they call music now
I’m going to check this out for sure
@@MetalNeverDieswithMarkA strongly recommend Dude, killer album, such a great local band that went completely under my radar 🤘🏻
