You summarized my issues with ALL the avengers movies in one sentence- in order to be entertained you need to not take them seriously. I would argue that it isn't just the new movies that suffer from this. Imagine if OG Star wars, Lord of the wings, game of thrones, Harry Potter, etc were only good if you don't take them seriously. That's what keeps marvel movies from ever reaching the upper echelon of entertainment in my opinion.

I agree with you, Dial of Destiny was crap. Crystal Skull was actually really good (except the monkeys swinging through the vines with Shia LeBouf)

You can also compare the Willoughby episode with the british sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart about a guy who is able to enter a portal between the 90s and the 40's

i started with the prequels and i didnt know they were prequels i loved them. when i started the original trilogy with luke and stuff i was like what is this garbage i thought luke was a whimpy stupid character and i also hated how they made anakin evil for no damn reason but either way i like the prequels better. then i deside to look on the internett and i see how many losers are hating on the prequels just because of jar jar binks. i dont get the hate i just thought the character was like a village idiot type character that was a part of the plot but i guess nerds love to judge. i mean all i wanna say is i loved the prequels and the original trash with luke was boring af and weird af i mean the dude did incest.

I think Deadpool and Wolverine was the actual starter to phase four after the tva which is the main thing being a major plot point in the movie , putting all the dots together but yeah it still doesn’t make sense about Spider-Man’s ending with the multiverse but I really hope everything will come together soon

Shang chi was bad imho

The first Iron Man movie is good. But the MCU assassinated Thor, Hulk, Jane Foster, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, The Krill, The Skrulls, Wasp, EVERY VILLAIN EVER. These movies have never been great. Kevin and Disney had never understood the characters they were adapting. EVER.

You summed it up perfectly at the end mate, about the passion, heart and understanding of a fictional universe made back in the day. And how now its just a consumer machine, cash grabs pumping out food for people to gobble down. Wheres the heart, wheres the humanity. Sums up people nowadays, this generation doesnt hold a candle to the previous one

It is a fact that movie making was at its best between the early 80s - the mid 00s. The original trilogy borders just outside and inside this time frame, hence the fact they’re good, and the sequels were made far outside it now that cinema has fallen off, rendering them merely decent, but the sequels are well in the best period for film and it shows. The acting, characters, the dialogue, the score, the plot, the settings, the designs, the lore, the effects, the humanity of the story, like most films made in that time, we’re absolutely top notch. But absolutely the most crucial element is that the characters are likeable, from good ones to bad ones theyre enjoyable. Pre mid/early 80s, characters and acting could be a bit too cheesy, they were likeable and fairly believable, but the humanity wasnt as refined as it came to be. And nowadays, characters and acting is an embarrassment, absolutely everything is a power pose to look visually sexy and cool, or a marvelesc comedy bit to show how ‘down to earth’ they are… not believable in the slightest, all the genuine humanity has been stripped and left us with vapid beings, which is a reflection of modern society tbh. The best modern characters are non human non dialogue characters like grogu or bb8 and d-o, or reoccurring ones like chewie, r2d2 and c3po, which goes to show how the human characters really dont feel human anymore. I really went on a tangent there, Point is, what makes a good film - mostly, likeable characters that show depth and sincerity in humanity, delivered with subtle quality acting, which the prequels have in abundance.

Prequel trilogy is really good

I've only seen 5 of Stanley Kubrick's movies so far. (I'm hoping to see more of his movies one day, especially Eyes Wide Shut.) I definitely think that 2001 is Stanley Kubrick's best movie, but I had such a hard time trying to watch it. Aside from the story with Hal and Dave, I didn't care all that much for the rest of the plot in the movie. Like you said, the visuals are beautiful. It made my fascination with cinematography and making symmetrical shots in photos or videos grow. But, aside from that, I didn't care about anything else about the movie. I nearly fell asleep so many times my first time watching it. It's one of the most boring movies that I have ever seen. As a work of art, it's a masterpiece. But as a movie, it's definitely not for me.

Bro, Spiderman no way home is literally the worst 😅😢 pure use of fanservice to bait you into it, storywise it could just end with a reasonable wish from a supposedly super-genius 😅😅 but for the sake of plot, he can switch back and forth between as dumb as rock and super capable. There is a reason why the prequel's are arguably better in terms of quality. The originals are generally seen highly/most revered, less about what they actually showed, but instead what ground work and the footprints that they left behind for all cinema to come. They created and changed much of what film is today, just like what the Matrix did for movies. The sequel series, or Ray's series is generally seen so poorly, because they simply got lazy. There is a considerably less amount of effort into the production, the training and the writing. They also tried to push a lot of agenda politics into different areas, with about the subtely of a hot shovel to the face. Don't get me wrong, plenty of good movies also come along with a message. However, the messages better movies depict never get in the way of the storytelling and the experience or the plot of the movie. Where as in the sequels, they went on side-quests just for the purpose of those agendas. This is more just a problem of the times, then anything else. It's a lot rarer to get directors with clear vision and passion for their projects and movies, then people simply being given a movie; then telling them to 'get it done.'

And then a Deadpool comes along 😅

What Kubrick showed in 1968, in 2001 a space odyssee, is what now called, a.i (. Artificial Intelligence) but i must be honest; a bit overrated!!😅

I honestly think it started with endgame. Movie was great till the end when they piss all over the logic they presented in the same Movie.

The Dr Strange sequel should have been a story about explaining the cost it takes to use magic. It’s not as simple as the risk of being possessed. Your body must go through shit in order to actually use it.

DrStrange2 would have been better if they didn’t include Chavez. She was simply a plot device throughout the film. Had she been replaced with the opposite of the Darkhold(I don’t remember the book’s title), Wanda wouldn’t have come off as irredeemable as she did.

I liked Multiverse of madness a lot and the doors it opened up to future things.

The only reason i watch and like MoM is because wanda is so cool and elizabeth olsen was great in this movie, but i hate it for ruining wanda and then killing her. At the end of Wandavision she tells Agatha that she will know where to find her if she needs her help, that would have been a very cool movie, but now wanda is dead, so even in the agatha show which I am exited about, there is no one to free agatha from Westview agnes, so it has to be in the past, and them she's never gonna show up again because she is stuck as agnes with no one to undo the spell

They just want to squeeze out every last dollar from the dregs of fandom and fanfare but a better business move long term probably would have been to take a significant multi year break after endgame and just let it breath and re-build up hype for passionate driven further projects in the future. They’re unwilling to take that risk though when there’s still money on the table

this was surprisingly a good year! after 2022 I kinda was disappointed in where movies were going but the summer and after was really promising we had lesser known films that were very successful and big blockbusters that weren't just all spectacle. It actually makes me excited to do my end of the year ranking for once

My sugestion , skip and forget Mission Impossible dead reckoning , it only make us broken hearts 💔💔💔😭😭😭😭 and upset 😡😡😡😡😡 , Rebecca Ferguson's Ilsa Faust character that we all loved and admired is being killed off like a chicken and becoming a corpse on the Venice bridge in that film !!
