CN Silver Creek Sub
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 มิ.ย. 2019
The CN Silver Creek Sub is our proto freelanced Canadian National subdivision. Canadian pacific makes an appearance with running rights to interchange at Beaverton and service Irving Oil past Wellington.
Currently we are rebuilding parts of the layout we aren’t happy with as well as installing CTC.
Full Canadian CTC properly displaying CROR (Canadian Railway Operating Rules) signal indications has proved to be much more difficult and expensive than we could have ever imagined, but we are almost there, custom cantilever signal bridges are currently under development and we hope to be the full CTC in a few months!!
We appreciate your support, cheers and happy modeling!

Great video.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting idea to have a "Day in the life of a car".
I like that!
"Day in the life" wasn't popular? I thought that was the best videos ever!
I did too! But they didn’t have nearly as many views or comments as the layout updates, but that was a while ago, I will bring some new videos in the series in early next year
This scene here is wonderful 👍 🚦
Thank you!! It’s just starting to come to life, I’m excited to get to the good stuff here in the new year
Gorgeous layout! It brings back memories of the 1970s when most auto racks were free of the hideous graffiti which covers most of them and other freight cars. These days, only brand new or freshly shopped cars have no tagging on them!
Eventually they will be tagged up lol, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, but it is nice seeing them all clean
Slam those signals!! Cool! Earl
Thanks Earl!
I love watching these videos mainly to see the signals aspect. W video🔥
Thanks man!! It never gets old
Can I come over and play too, it's so nice !!!
Thank you!! Someday we will have an open house or free run, still a ways away still but someday
Who do you recommend for decals?
Generally i use microscale decals for the standard builds but if I need something custom made I got to circus city decals, Matt is amazing, it is pricey but he works closely with you and you get exactly what you need and they are the best quality
@@SilverCreekSub Ok. Thanks!! I was just curious because I’m looking into renumbering an engine and I needed some suggestions
@@TitanMidMichiganRailfan no problem
Looking sharp!!! Nice job! 👍👍
Thank you!! 😁
On 9563 do you know if the rdc antennas where hand made or bought?
Those were hand made, but you can buy them from macrail
@@SilverCreekSubok. Thank you.
Any chance you could do a video on how you program your esu decoders? The settings volume level and what sound features, compressors etc you use. Your locos sound absolutely fantastic and I would love to have mine do the same! Keep making videos!
I sure can! I will put it on the list of videos I need to make lol, it might be a while but I sure can
0:34 looks like one of those locomotives blew a turbo! lol!
lol just blowing the carbon out 🤣
Your “follow a car” question at 24:46. That would be cool. Here in Halifax (Dartmouth) we see certain patterns of cars where I might only see the last of first feet of a journey but wonder if certain cars work in closed loops (we used to get a certain GT autorack that I started believing lived like this).
Oh for sure! Some cars belong to giant “pools” so they get used where ever that pool gets pulled from, others belong to a single customer that they have leased for their service, always lots of moving parts to the car cycles
@@SilverCreekSub I love this stuff. Your comment only expands the interest here. It’s fascinating that in a system as diverse as this patterns emerge. On your layout, do you model both pool traffic and say something that might be more randomized?
More day in the life videos please! They are great!
Will do!! Thanks for letting me know, we will get back at them
I always enjoy updates these updates and the different ways you show the layout coming to life. Always, thanks for inviting us in. Definitely, please more of the Day In The Life videos when you can.
Thanks, I really appreciate you watching!
My favorite videos from the channel are the "day in the life of". Please make more of them. Love the progress on the layout as well.
I’m so glad to hear that! I love those videos, I will definitely make more of them! I’m glad so many of you commented about it, I wasn’t quite sure if I should continue, but I definitely will! Thanks for watching! Cheers
I second this comment ! Great series
@@CSXGP38 I’m really happy everyone loves them so much!! I will make some more first thing in the new year! Cheers!
excellent stuff, wade !!! please go with "a day in the life of" asap as it is a really nice feature to watch over am coffee or pm molsons !!! will be running many trains this saturday, all day, then hnc with home made chicken wings ( semi-hot and sweet) and molsons and/or carlsbergs to chase 'em down !!! big, bad, bruins in town saturday, so leafs better be ready !!! it will be a full day of fun !!! my latest switching consist here in wny is 2 athearn sd 40-2w's and a walthers "souped-up" gp-9... certainly not the rapido gp-9 equivalent, but she runs nicely with the "dubbyas" and is actually a pretty good puller all by herself !!! blessings to you and your crew, wade !!! denny
Thanks Denny!! I will get back at the day in the life of series in the new year, I’ll take some time to try and think how I can make them a bit better in the mean time but we will keep at it! Have fun running trains and eating wings!!!! Cheers!! Wade
@@SilverCreekSub 10-4 wade !!! BURP !!!

Can I ask what you used for the DPU light (and does it work?) on the CN 8006 SD70M-2? I am aiming to do a similar install on an IC SD70...
I actually bought it like that a long time ago, and yes they do work, the guy said he built it out of an old rail flyer parts so it’s just a one off scratch build, I can’t give you much direction in that department
I always like The Day in The Life series! Your idea of following along with a freight car sounds like it would be fun and educational as well. Cheers!
Thanks Gary! I appreciate the response! I’m the new year I’ll start making those videos again! Should be fun
Would love to see a good operations video. And I really love the Day in the life of series. Keep up the great work.
I’m glad to hear it!! Will do!
Cool
😁
That was cool.
I’m glad you liked it!
I really like the day in the life videos. Definitely should keep them going.
I agree! I love the day in the life series.
Great share on how each train has a destination. And starting point and finishing point. Always have a fantastic time there with a great group of modellers. Think I’d like to see a train built from start to its finishing point. Pick one or two jobs and show how they get there. Great share and video 😎🚂
Thanks Mike!
Most anything done involving trains is appreciated!
Noted!! 😁
I'd like to see a layout tour and then enjoy your layout and expertise!
I could definitely do that!!
It's great to see a good operation video. It has been a long time comming after all the rebuilds😂 Day inthe life and real time following videos would always be fun! Where's the container train😮😢....OH THERE IT IS😂😂❤❤❤❤ Cheers 🍻 Earl
Glad you enjoyed it Earl!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I would enjoy some more of the "Day in the life" series
I’m glad to hear it!! Thanks for the comment!
those signals really make the layout !!
Thanks Jim! I have to agree!
Love your videos. Ton of knowledge and real world experience. Definitely need to do more videos like this. Also do more day in the life videos as well.
Thank you very much! I’m glad you like them! And with all the comments I think it’s safe to say more need to come!! Thanks again!
That thing looks awesome!
Thank you! 😁
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
RCL?

What kind of sound decoder and speakers do you have in that thing!?
ESU V5 and scale sound system speakers in every unit I own 😁

Looks awesome, what model brand did you use for the 4709? Athearn, atlas?
That was an athearn genesis when it started.
Don't forget, I'm still looking forward to an explanation on your Resistor Wheelsets!
It’s coming lol, it will be in the new year, we are almost done getting caught up to where we need to be to start them in mass quantities, I’ll do a video when we start the assembly line.
Nice weathering
That was Rob at weather my trains!
@@SilverCreekSub I will look them up.
