To upgrade your scooter you would need to replace the controller. depending on what motor you have running a higher amp draw controller might be too much for the motor. I buy used scooter and replace the motor and controller so as to match. 1500 watt motor with this 1500 watt controller kit with a 60 volt battery is a big improvement.

When I charge through the BMS the middle cell was lower then the other 2 by quite a bit. I have been charging through the balancing wire I add ever since.

The relay in the video is 30amps but you can buy whatever you need. It would take a lot of LED's to get over 30amps.

yes, a conversion is motor, controller, and throttle. it's sometimes nice to get a display and/or speed switch if the controller has that option.

I have tried a lot of different spot welders and most didn't work or last long. Yes shipping can definitely be a problem. I buy mostly used batteries from batteyhuckup.com I've had good luck with the batteries out of medical equipment because they only get used when the power goes out (not many cycles). The box came from aliexpress, they sell a lot of different sizes but this one was only $5.

It's mostly figuring out the math. A 50watt panel should give you close to 4 amps in full sun light. I have 3x250watt panels on my trailer connected to 2 large deep cycle batteries. I can run all the 12 volt charges from that without too much drain.

@@ElectricOHV Thank you so much! I've just starting learning about batteries as I inherited four 12V deep cells (wet) as part of a solar power system. The system works well but I a way to have a couple of 12V backup batteries that are not part of the system, just in case I lose power and need a way to charge my phone, etc. Or as way to charge something without having to run back to the power shed.

It's my everyday commuter, doing great. I only drive a few miles at a time thou. I'm going to change out the battery soon and post a new video with the performance difference.

@@lanceam24 Yes, the very first battery I built has work so well I haven't needed to change it out yet. That's over a year! They have stayed well matched to. Only charging to 4.1 volts and don't go down below 3.6. With that said I only work a few mile from my house so maybe 20 miles between charges. You can never have too much battery, build the biggest thing you can fit.

I use a dermal to lightly sand the corrosion so the spot welder can hold better.

I was worried about those cells being bad so I took the pack apart and found the cells still have the same capacity as the rest. So far so good.

@@ElectricOHV yeah, the couple of bad ones seemed to test ok, so maybe there just wasn't a good nickel plating on the contacts or something.

It all comes down to run time and amp draw. 2.2 ah is pretty low. My 5ah batteries go for 15 minutes at 20 amps. Your 2.2ah batteries would go for 15 minutes at 8.8 amps.

If you have the fardrive controller there's a setting to switch direction. You need to let it run through its sinking modem it turns for a few seconds in each direction and then when you switch it off and back on it will run in the opposite direction.

Yes the motor was running backwards, some of the videos I watched said all you need to do to change 2 of the phase wires. Turns out you need to change the motor direction in the software. So I changed them back after the video was filmed.

I get my batteries from rcbattery.com there prices have gone up a little but still good. You you can wire them together, but balancing is important for longjevity. lately I have been building packs out of 18650 cells from batteryhookup.com

There is no identifier on the wire loom, so can't really tell if it's the right one. I think it's kind of generic thou, I needed to modify a few things.

It all depends on how heavy you're on the throttle. If you average 10 amps you will go for 30 minutes. If you go full throttle the hole time you will only get about 15 minutes. I do use 8 together some times to make 10 amp hours so I can go for over an hour.

Yes, I have bought several packs from Rcbattery.com over the past couple of years and never paid more then $20 a pack. If you don't over charge or over discharge them they last quit a while. Also don't store them fully charged for very long. If I'm going for a long ride I use 8 packs ganged together.
