The road is extremely difficult with steep slopes. Therefore, it is necessary to have a good driver. Because of the dangerous nature of this road, it can be said that this is called the Devil's Stairs. Another problem that occurs when traveling in a vehicle is not being able to give way if a vehicle comes from the opposite direction. There are few places where two vehicles can switch on this road. While trekking can savor the arduous flavor of the journey and the breathtaking views, the end of the journey can be quite tiring. Therefore, the most suitable for this trip is to go with trail type motorcycles.
At the beginning of the trip, the most attractive place of this trip is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, the Bambarakanda waterfall. After passing the Bambarakanda waterfall, there is a concrete road. But this part of the road is very short. Then you will find a slippery road paved only with granite. After passing this section, you will find a naturally located platform. The view from there is indescribable. After that, the difficult parts of the road begin. It is not easy to walk on the Guru Road from here, let alone a vehicle.
After traveling further you can see plantation houses. Poor plantation workers live in these. After passing the estate houses and the temple, the road reaches its final stage. Various side roads are encountered on this journey. The right way is not specified, so there is a possibility of going wrong.
