Is Journey Overrated?
HEY! welcome to the first episode in this new series. This first one is about a game I really didn't like for a long time, Journey.
The idea behind this series is to revisit games I never got on with, in a shorter formant, as my main reviews grow longer my goal is too keep these more focused and more about my experience rather than a review.
LAZY WIKI POST
Journey is a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 game by thatgamecompany, that is distributed over PSN and was released on March 13, 2012. The player plays as a robed person journeying towards a distant mountain through a sandy desert. The game has a multiplayer component, in which players can interact on their journey and assist each other. As of May 29th 2012, it has become the fastest-selling PSN game ever.
Music in order of appearance:
Rayman 2 the great escape
Journey
Abzu
Flower
Thanks to @fuzzykey for giving me some Sonic Adventure footage
Hope you enjoyed this little video! see you again soon.

Hey Everyone. Hope you all enjoy this BGAE video! Took me far to long to get out due to sickness. But I really like the pacing with this one. It's a shame too, this game had really smooth controls. I forget if this game came out before the Wii game did, either way based on the Wii tenchu game with a story, Z would take place after it.
@@strawhat9023 I've never actually touched the Wii Tenchu, it might be the only one I've never played so I really need to look into it
That was my very first 360 game, my father bought me one for the summer of 08, a lot of naruto and gta 4 was played haha
this game is so dumb but so much fun at the same time can't explain exactly why , i still play it a few times
@@Harutjun honestly I go back every year to play it again. It's so bad but I love it
@goobula :) it's weird right, because it's pretty unique game maybe that's why not many games have good stealth
@@Harutjun it's crazy unique! Who doesn't want a ninja game where you make your own ninja? I'm not sure another game like that exists. Stealth has always been a hard sell in the gaming industry sadly. And it's a shame that Z feels like such wasted potential. Another 6 months in the oven and it could have been a hidden gem. Now it's just an entertaining oddity.
@@goobula yup it's tenchu and metal gear solid for me, no other franchises can do stealth properly like these games do.
No. Goob sucks
@@thespider817 😭
it is not overrated
@@GamerKidsClub I came to that conclusion in the video.
@@goobula yeah I know I was agreeing
@@GamerKidsClub ahhhh gotcha gotcha. Was worried I didn't get my point across in the video 😂
I think this is a really strong idea for a series. Time and experience can really change your view on a game (for better or worse). This is a great game to start with. I really love how you break down how this game was a mass marketed art piece at a time where those weren’t a normal thing to see in the gaming space. At least on console. I don’t think Journey is really “overrated”, but rather an appropriately rated stepping stone.
Pubg ?
good guess, buts its elder scrolls 4 oblivion
I’m currently replaying Naruto rise of the ninja and broken bond to relive my childhood memories. Would anyone be down to play online for the achievements? My gamertag is TRETS1998. Feel free to add me
True water fan 💦
@Goobula Fantastic vid man, I love seeing new players get into this series. Don't feel bad about that last bit, Nineball is human +'d the fuck out frankly and him on top of that platforming section is killer. From my understanding project phantasms is a somewhat underwhelming expansion but does introduce a shitload of arena missions. Master of Arena though is the Definative AC1 experience. MOA has my highest recommendation, you should be able to import your save to each of the expansions as well. Though if you want h+ in each you need to import a h+ file. It carries over funds/parts unlocked too.
Goob might be the most impressive art critic ever. Only a true critic could distinguish the lake in Psychonauts off of swirls in the clouds alone. Absolute legend.
Tim Schafer told me off on twitter once for making a Psychnaughts 2 joke. Something about it never coming out. I am not burdened with memoriesing his style in life long shame
One of my first 360 games. It was great. Reminded me of Uzumaki Chronicles. Then I saw storm on ps3 and got mad at the better graphics 😂
From 2007 to 2013 truly was the best time to be a kid and teen since games like this and multiple other great anime games and just games in general came out and gave us dope gameplay and mechanics that some games copy or don't use anymore
B GAE 👁👄👁
the is so untreated keep going
Man it's always nice to see someone talk about this game, I love this one so much and play through it fairly often at least once a year.
It's nice that they added optional Outfits & secrets to a already well paced game like this. A clear indication that the Sequel (Hallowed be the Monkey) Is right around the corner. Behind Skull & Bones
I love that one of your anime coverups is IShowSpeed fighting a wizard gnome 😂
@@storageroomb746 I feel like it mirrors what's going on in the anime 😂 Honestly that's the only part that got copyright struck and blocked in the UK and some other countries.
@@goobula classic TH-cam sillyness.
u said his name right then said it wrong right after..
I actually appreciate the fact that they used actual clips from the show and not just still images like the recent Naruto games do. Plus using the anime ost is a nice touch. I wonder why other anime games don't do that.
Because the companies these days don’t give af anymore, the games these days have no passion unlike the all the older games
I’m neutral with Naruto: Rise of the Ninjas
This game was good but broken bond was even better
@@strawberrysherbet96 yeah Im really looking forward to playing broken bond
The human plus project is accessible if you go deeply into debt. You get your pilot name replaced by a serial number and other characters start calling you "it". Also, you get additional powers, like the ability to fire certain mounted guns while flying.
@@snakelady647 that's really Cool. I need to replay it just to try that out.
Still the best Naruto game
Broken bond better trust me
@@Hazzymane56 yeah I remember it being much better
Rush storytelling, clunky gameplay, but AMAZING exploration!!! IN MY OPINION! Decades later and this is still the BEST Naruto game to explore Konoha! Storm 1 doesn't even touch THIS good of exploration! It just sucks it's exclusive to the Xbox.
@@AubreyTheKing I 100% agree with you
3:47 In the manga, he did actually beat Hiruzen with sexy jutsu while snooping around the office. I guess that jutsu is too much for the professor.
@@good__person that's awesome it's addressed in the manga. I have been meaning to read it for a while.
In the anime Naruto beat Hiruzen with the sexy jutsu before he even put his headband on for the first time lol, I forget the manga
How do you get so many views! How do you promote your content?
@@chefbreezus honestly I have no idea why this video is doing so well. I don't really promote my content anywhere. I share it once on Twitter and with a few friends. But I think I just got lucky with this one.
It's crazy that the game had models for Kakashi, Sssuke and Sakura but they didn't fill out the game by allowing you to fight as them.
@@visoredgruntR34 so you can fight as them! In a very poorly out together VS mode. I didn't bother mentioning it in the video as it's very bare bones.
Naruto was able to pull so many pranks of the village. Not even the Abby could find him
I loved the HOMM2 music ❤️❤️❤️
So can you not play this on the series X?
You cannot. Only a 360.
It was good.
Not everyone is meant to walk the path of the Shinobi. Shizoku JaHachi Kage
Never realized they had an "open world" Naruto game. There is so many open world games I'd love from so many series (Pokemon, Naruto, One Piece, etc) I like the fighting but I also want to immerse myself in the world.
Pokemon is based on an open world video game lol, it came before the anime
great video keep up the review
@@716_ハディくん thank you!
I absolutely LOVED Rise of a Ninja and Broken Bond.
I'm really looking forward to replaying a broken bond. I did enjoy rise a lot! It's very charming.
here before this amazing channel blows up
You're too kind 😂
I wish I had a 360 I was always a gen behind (if not 2) and I wanted this game so bad when I was younger it's insane
It is really surprising to me that this is a ubisoft game. I had no idea. I definitely think the Storm series has pushed this game into serious obscurity.
There is one game I can think of that ends in a QTE. It is God Of War Ragnarok.
This and the sequel were ignored it's really weird. You'd think being the only open world Naruto game they would be remembered more foundly
I love the tank controls, played the remaster with them
Honestly they add so much to a game. The different control scheme is so much more engaging
Welcome to the TR community, Raider. Couple things: Peru not Nepal Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Tomb Raider HD Collection are completely different releases. You’re playing the former not the latter. Your memory is serving you right, just piecing together moments from different games. Also, way to diss Greece, the most highly regarded level in the entire franchise 🤣😅 Fun fact, I like the game because of my memory of my mom playing it too! She still loves to watch me play today ❤️
im happy to be part of the community! TR really is a banger. Yeah watching the video back and hearing me say Peru is making me cringe a little but I have a good reason! I recently played TR Legend and started TR anniversary. My brain defaulted to saying Peru because of legend and I messed up the shotgun placement due to anniversary as you get the shotgun after beating Larson. Also why I called it the HD collection and not Remastered. I think I played too much TR in a short period and mixed everything up. I need to play Greece again, I really didn't vibe with it the first time around.
0:54 Tomb Raider Chronicles
I played them as a kid on original release, and recently played remaster. Ooof did NOT remember how crude the cut scenes looked!
The thing is, the original cutscenes weren't that bad before. Somehow the files were just downgraded. I remember when I bought the Steam version and they looked awful and I didn't know why. They were grainy (much more than in the 'classic' mode of the Remaster) and I had to look for someone that upscaled them to look better. But in the original playstation disc, the cutscenes are good (better than this 'remaster' version's), but apparently they don't translate well on 4k tvs and all that and quality was lost over time. This isn't nostalgia talking, because I kept my original PS1 and played this game for years after and when I saw these ported versions I was surprised by how bad they look.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary feels like the exact opposite with an enjoyable Greece and a tedious Egypt.
I started anniversary! Haven't played much yet but looking forward to seeing the differences.
Your mum has excellent taste and her opinion is spot on 👏
@2:12 The caves in Peru, not Nepal.
my mistake, unsure why I said Nepal 😂
This game was my childhood, I could never pass the boss in the first Amazon area however fast forward to adulthood I re-purchased the game and finally finished it and I was not disappointed 💜
It's really difficult! I never beat the forest stage as a kid either. Was great to revisit and play properly
6:50 you find the shotgun first in the T rex level. There are also an achievement for it.
Ahhh I missed that! I actually skipped most of Peru in this playthrough as I started playing it on the PC just before the game was announced. Didn't want to play the same section again
Did the skateboarding 90s kid influence Fat Man in MGS2?
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if kojoma was inspired by tomb raider it's huge
I only played MGS2 Master Collection a few weeks before TR1 Remaster and thought the same. Seemed to be an appealing concept back then.
