I don’t really like the fact that the creator stated that Tony was gay because shipping child characters has always been kind of uncomfortable to me because it sexualizes children. Also the game doesn’t even directly state that he’s gay with the main argument being “W0w l0ok t0nY w0rRieS aB0ut hIs BeSt FrIeNd Is’Nt hE sO GaYY?! I think Jeff & Tony’s friendship is more close to a “close friends” or a “childhood friend” type friendship and I think this kind of tone better fits the game😊

My thought of how they could retcon & tie X to the trilogy: The Klaus experiment happens at the same time as the ship leaving earth and they basically fly ahead of the universe ending/splitting event.

Been playing through X on Cemu and my biggest hope is that they make it so you don’t have to find people in NLA to add them back into your party or at the very least they let you mark them so you don’t have to remember where everyone is

I'll still cope and say that they're trying to use DE to fit X into the larger Xenoblade verse officially, I don't see why they wouldn't at this point. Doesn't matter to me how they do it: alternate parallel world, Klaus's experiment, I'll take whatever

I havent bought the re-releases for Switch since i played them on the Wii, WiiU, 3DS...so is it worth buying and playing again on the Switch? I did enjoy X but i definitely didnt finish it, cause u know life.

They tried to erase X from history

I do kind of hope this is the last DE for awhile, least maybe in 5 years we'll get a Trilogy collection, all prettied up and using the currently updating engine they're cooking up. 1 and X were kind of weird cause it felt like 2 is the look and presentation they settled on as THE "Xenoblade" look, which 1 suffered from being on Wii and X was just stuck on the flop that is Wii U hell. Think the only reason a Xeno 2 DE would be justified is that Torna onward, they managed to figure out how to convert mouth flaps to English, and I'd kill getting the old cast back with proper recording time and Al Weaver getting the redemption arc he deserves.

Gonna be real, there is NO WAY they are gonna be able to jam X into the main trilogy. There is no mention of any alien invasion in the main trilogy that would've caused the world to be blown up, and they'd have to retcon A LOT with both the main trilogy and X to be able to connect them. These are clearly two separate universes, and trying to force a connection in on them (with the exception of maybe Telethia the Endbringer being a Telethia that came through the fog rift from Future Connected) would just ruin both series.

Honestly I see a lot of folks saying that the Black Knight is Malos, I don't hear David Menkin at the end but when I look at the evidence, It's jus crazy enough for me to believe

The only problem with the definitive edition of x is that it is based of the censored NA/EU release so thats quite disappointing

In terms of lore, I think what they’ll do is that X will be revealed to be an alternate universe created by the conduit when Klaus did the experiment, and that the aliens at war were originally the humans who got forcibly sent to that new universe. That’s just my guess though. Anyway, I can’t wait for the game!

It's funny because starting from X's Og release in 2015, Monolith has maintained a two year gap in between releases. 2 came out in 2017, paired with torna in 2018. Xc1DE/FC came out 2 years later in 2020. Then 2 years after that xc3 came out in 2022, with FR in 2023 And now XDE is coming in 2025. Assuming that XDE doesn't get a surprise DLC in 2026, I think it's safe to assume the next new entry is likely to release in 2027. As for XDE, I think we can assume two possible options. One, the game's new content will tie the game back to the mainline numbered series, or Two, the game will set itself up as a proper spin off series, only loosely related, and in that case I think we can expect a proper sequel to X at some point. If they connect X to the numbered trilogy, I think x won't get a sequel and instead its story threads will just be incorporated into Xc4. I think option two is a bit more likely, as Monolith's wording about Xc3 has suggested now that they're done with the main trilogy, they might be interested in going back to X and pushing in that direction for a bit. The reason I had up until been skeptical of X getting a remaster was because it felt clear to me that XcX was most likely conceived of as a direct sequel to Xc1 very, VERY early in it's development and that idea got scrapped when development really got going, hence why Aionios world bares a large amount of visual similarity to Mira, the presence of nopon and Telethia, and why a lot of the ideas like the usage of an massive computerized Ark and copies of living people are shared between the two games. I think a lot of X's original ideas got incorporated into 3 after being scrapped during x's development. So My thought is now Monolith intends to take X in some new directions while reinventing some of X's scrapped concepts. I sort of hope the new story content is incorporated organically into X's mai story, instead of being bolted on as a new campaign like in Fc's case. That worked because it was epilogue to an already compete story, where as X is an incomplete story, and it would be weird for the DE to end the same way and then the player just has to awkwardly select a separate campaign to get any closure. (Also, damn do those character models look good.I always liked X's art-style and it looks like they've preserved it while giving the characters some needed updating and facial range.)
