Is The New Corgi Club Batmobile Worth The Hype ?
If you are going to re issue a classic toy like the corgi 1966 batmobile, then it better be good ! the corgi collector club got there first dibs at this challenge, but how did they do ? Well in this video i unbox there attempt at the re-issue of the epic and now classic 1966 batmobile, a toy that corgi knocked out of the park in terms of scaled miniature engineering and toyetic quality ! the reissue will never live up to the original but is it any good ? let me know what you think.....

As an 18 year old, I watched the whole A-team quite a few years ago. You'd be surprised but many Gen z know of, or have heard of the A-team. I'm a massive model vehicle collector and I do have two 1:64 scale greenlight A-team vans (one clean and one weathered), and I'd like to get my hands on a 1:24 scale greenlight one (only if I can get a good deal on eBay). Greenlight really do some detailed models even at a 1:64 scale. I personally would never spend almost £600 on a model like this (unless I became extremely wealthy), but it's such a nice model I'm sure it will be quite popular with extreme model enthusiasts.
Love Betty boop ❤❤😍😍😊😊
Fantastic re-issue which reminds me of my childhood...original was from my Aunt for Christmas c. 1968? Still remember the blade cutter and the flame which moved as the car was rolled along!! Also who can forget the rocket launcher?! Note the detail of the painted figures is really good as well. Corgi have done a brilliant job on the tooling for this reproduction version. It was a must-have for my collection, following the James Bond DB5 release. Recommended. Total nostalgia!!!
Vintage corgi toys is ART but corgi model club is a toys for children's.
What corgi model club? Is not corgi model club.
I paid for corgi model club but in the future need more supervision for cuality products and services for sale. The new corgi model club is a very bad choice for me is toys for children and not for adults collectable.
My opinion vintage corgi toys is the best and corgi model club is a very bad cuality for business and paint and crafts jobs are a bad choice for sale, need more supervision for cuality corgi toys. I love vintage corgi toys.
Great video ordered mine ,in the original box i think the little badge was iron on if i recall my mum ironing it onto my shirt .
Mine arrived today and am very impressed. Not much different at all in a side by side against an original. As mentioned in the video, the wheel barely makes a 'ping' like the og.I thought it was faulty but it fires missiles ok.The walls of the missile tubes are thicker, which must be why the missiles are skinnier than I remember. My originals have gold coloured plating on the chain cutter & button, exhaust & rocket wheel, whereas his new one is all bare metal.Could be based on early versions which perhaps weren't plated??? Embossed Batman underneath isn't quite so well defined but could just be due be thicker paint as the new one weighs a couple of grams more. The screen is crystal clear and the figures, mine at least, are painted/printed with more care than they were in the sixties. If you bide your time, forty quid will get you a decent early Batmobile on ebay with a good screen and both figures but the tyres will be hard and cracked and the suspension will be spongy or broken, paint chips and no missiles.Repro boxes aren't cheap either.
Mine came at last today, sadly not the one I ordered and Corgi advertised in the pre-order at the time months ago, this version now has the tow hook on the back and comes with no artwork display base 😞. But managed to get this version in your video off Ebay for £85.
Bring back corgi juniors man from uncle piranha
Bad details about the new corgi batmobile corgi model club, need more supervision for made in China.
The original is art but the new corgi batmobile is a toy.
hi, if i subscribe, can i please get an action figure, thank you,.......marius(punk rules).
I just orderd one! I have an original my Grandmother purchased for me in 1978! It is in pristine condition as I always kept it in the box. I will do a side by side comparison video as soon as it arrives right here on my 1966 Batman Costume Channel and More! Thanks for the info! Great vid! Cheers!
Looking back none of my toys as a kid stayed in the box. Even now my "collectibles" get opened. My Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc, and my action figures as well.
good post , however TOO much schill...
Cool review. Really must drop in when we visit again as drive past your shop every time we arrive but never seem to get down south to visit. hopefully next time.
Is that still available? I had the original back in 1967 and fondly recall the many hours of joy it provided. I was 11 and all my schoolmates HAD to have it.
My old one had a trailer hitch to pull the Batboat. I don't notice one on this model.
It doesn't have the red pinstripes! Even though the box shows them on the front of the car.
I owned one when I was a kid and also bought and sold a restored one which I sold for Three hundred about seven years ago. It was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid.
Corgi collectors club are releasing in May 2025 ~ Corgi 266, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. They say: This Chitty isn't the recent model which has been available direct from Corgi but a modified version which makes it more authentic to the November 1968 original. It includes a beautiful facsimile of the 60s-era box, something we've been working hard on replicating ~ including the cloud insert that Chitty sits on!
I have an original. I DO know that the original molds were destroyed so what ever this is, its just reverse engineered, not original
Buck Rogers Starfighter needs to be next. Sans that silly bar at the front!
Had the original. And the bond car... Also had a tiny matchbox bat mobile
Yes,there was a phone in the van
No tow hook?
i think that tow hook was only on the BM in specials sets; like the BM with Batboat (which i have) and Batcopter.
I just ordered one b
"The New Avengers," was the series which starred the characters "Purdey" & "Gambit" alongside "Steed." The series before that was just "The Avengers" which starred the character "Emma Peel." P.s What a wonderful shop you have.
Don't forgot Honor Blackmon was BEFORE Emma.
Your quite right. That was when the programme was in black & white. I think Patrick Macnee was still developing the "Steed" character back then because I felt he came across has being a bit creepy in those early episodes.
Mmmmm I know they are trying to stay faithful to the original but with todays computer painting equipment....they could have done the pinstripes....( and saved me some work lol) but yeah just think...man from uncle fab 1 green hornet.....green avengers for john steed....the list goes on
Was a favourite of mine.. the edition that came with the bat boat…released around 1976…came with a little Batman and robin…a friend had it , would always ask to play with it..he had the helicopter as well
I grew up on the original Batman TV...... car looks great! but the rims not a good choice. If you want a real treat check out the movie...... Batman ( 1966 ) Batman and Robin face off against an allstar list of enemies all at the same time !
I remember having one of them back in the 70's.
It’s lacking all the red stripes of the tv version . Which is a shame .
Where can I order a Trick or Treat studios good guy now? Its not up on the trick or treat site.
I have the original one. But after a incident I had to repaint it thus I made it more tv accurate. But, this might be worth getting. Thanks for showing it.
I had some of these figures back then they are one of my favourite happy memories 😊
It would have been good to have compared it to an original side by side. I am waiting for the monkeemobile to come out
Where’s the boat?
Corgi Model Club have a box set of a Ford Granada and silver Capri from the ‘70’s, which is obviously a reference to The Professionals but is not branded as such 😯 I'm guessing they couldn't get the licence.
Love everything Corgi. First Corgi piece my dad bought for me was The Man From UNCLE car ( still have it, no clue what happened to the ring that came with it). Wish car was in mint condition ( I think I was six when I got it). Good memories!😊
I live in canada. And cannot get my hands on both models. Corgi doesnt let anyone outside uk or usa to buy these models. If anyone has one to sell.
I had this as a child in the 70's and I remember it had a connected red light that you could fit onto the roof 🤩🤩
When was this released please and is it still available 🤔🤔
This is really cool and thinking of buying 😍😍 Wow… Cool Toy Shop 🤩🤩🤩 Gonna sub to your awesome channel Dude… just discovered you ❤️❤️ Maybe if this is a success, then they’ll also release the Bat Copter & Bat Boat 😍😍
I loved my one from back in the day. I actually base my friends on which Batmobile they prefer. if not this one , they're not a match for me..
Got the original batmobile and batboay going on a family holiday to Cornwall. Cost 19s 6p which is about 97p now. Swapped it for a load of husky cars.
I still have my original of this (gold) DB5 with the passenger included. I used to have the Batmobile and the Saint's Volvo but I don't have them now, not sure why, I wish I did.
A re-issue of the Batboat would be pretty cool as a companion piece. Like the Batmobile, there were subtle differences throughout the production run and you need to have deep pockets for boxed originals of both in good condition. Nice video Mark. Speak soon ( like the case you put Indy in by the way😊) Nige
I had one of the original " Batmobiles" for christmas many years ago. It was a complete surprise. It vanished when my brother moved out. A coincidence I'm sure. Along with my half of the shared scalextric and my train set. Never mind.
