@@hs-vr9pp I think it’s a well known issue that some dealers are aware of, if they’re a halfway decent dealer. I think there is an TSB regarding it, they replace the switch and also put an inline resistor at some leg of the circuit

I’ll try and do some updates and stuff, been pretty busy lately with life and things but I’ll definitely start doing some videos again soon, once I figure out a spot to do them at etc.

yea I think that drain plug can accept that type of valve so you can easily just drain it and never really need to open it up etc.

Yea I’m going to have to do an updated video of the truck I’ve changed some things around that better suite our needs. That supercharger is definitely going to be pretty awesome! The more stuff I see coming out about the new tacos the happier I am I picked the Frontier.

I would say the Diode Dynamics are brighter and definitely offer more useable light you would perceive. That said Vividlumen is definitely a very good light for the price range. Diode Dynamics does have a 20% sale going on right now you can take advantage of.

Yea initially I was on the fence about the blue but after owning it for a while it has worn off on me. I think it is a pretty unique color compared to most trucks now days.

Also have you had that happen again since you did that ?

@@seansurber1545 Hey so I bent the prongs in a way where it made more contact with the housing so outwards. Since doing it no, I have not had the issue come back up and that was quite some time ago and many thousands of miles.

@@D41Mallcrawler sweet ok I wanted make sure before I mess with it. I just bought mine a month ago and this just happened today gave me the rainbow of lights from check engine to abs to system fault. It seems to be pretty common when I researched it and I was relieved to see a simple fix. Thank you brother for helping out !

@@JeffSh00ts I did take it out and clean it with compressed air and bent the prongs like he said and haven’t had any issues for about 3 months now So seems like a good fix 👍

Appreciate it! To be completely honest you could if you wanted to, I’m not too sure if it would affect the structural integrity or not. I have not noticed too much crud accumulating above the skids either honestly.

with the install of the cold air intake? I will be completely honest with you I only noticed a very small change in mpgs and it felt as if the truck was straining less if that makes sense. I have a lot of extra weight with tires and gear etc on my truck, so it may give you a noticeable difference if you don't heave the truck fully loaded up etc. I also have the tune for it, I have definitely noticed a change in performance pairing the exhaust, CAI and tune. With all the weight on the truck it feels a bit more peppy than factory when it rolled off the lot before all the mods.

Yea end of the day everything is fixable no matter how bad something is. Just need to take a few breaths sometimes and relax.

​@D41Mallcrawler The girlfriend was sitting next to me while watching your video and when I said "and a can do attitude..." she chuckled and said "you.know I've learned so much about working on Nissans." "Like what?", I asked. And she turned, laughed and said "That when it comes to working on Nissans, nothing goes as planned." 😂 12mm bolt came out without an issue. When I opened everything realized that Z1 hadn't included one of the new shock bolts I ordered. No biggie. After fighting the shocks to get back in line for an hour, tightening everything up and just about to start typing this message...FedEx pulls up with a Z1 package with the missing bolt...oh well, at least I have backups. 😉

Yea, everything has its shortcomings. In terms of clearance for the new Frontier, the shock mounts do sit pretty damn low.

I had them set it up the same way they did for the CBI Frontier. We went back and forth about how much weight I estimate I’ve added to the truck etc. they tuned the suspension with the low and high speed accordingly and used their 600# spring. with all that said I have roughly 3” of lift up front and ~ 2” and out back with the parabolic leaf springs. It rides super nice for all the added weight I run.

@@EastCoastCouture I have the older Condor Og. I don't have anything particularly bad to say about it honestly. I have had it on the truck for nearly three years straight and I have only had a few small issues that Roofnest did address I believe with the new V2 Condor. I will suggest though looking into an EXPED air mattress from the likes of REI, it will make an absolute world of difference in terms of comfort. I figured I just paid all the money for it, might as well splurge on a good air mattress, also buy good pillows as well. The first few times we used it it wasn't anything to write home about, I haven't had a chance to sleep in it with the EXPED but I have set it up in the house and it's wild.

also there are some other good tents out there as well depending on what you plan on doing. If you are going to run a full size rack that allows for a wedge tent or a larger tent etc. When you do the Mid height and Low Profile racks you limit yourself on what you can use.

Thanks and yea it looks like it belongs on the truck. I’d definitely recommend a pre cleaner if you plan on driving in dusty environments, honestly probably even beneficial living up in the northeast where the salt and chemicals are kicked up into the air during the winter

Haha nah man, it’s not you. It’s the shape of the instrument panel, I have the same area on the bottom of it that’s not really in sight unless you’re looking for it. It’s right at the black plastic trim, if that’s what you’re talking about. To answer the question about the gray haze, that goes away after a few days once it dries out. If I was to guess it’s because that’s plastic and not the same material as the head unit. Thanks for watching!

yes, that is the most time consuming part of the install. It may be different from person to person, I have relatively large hands so it was tough fitting my hands up inside the fender well once the intake piping was in. You have nice silicone gaskets and sleeves that all are connected with band clamps so you won't have to worry about any water getting in there. Now granted I wouldn't suggest doing any insanely deep water crossings and end up getting water intrusion into the cab haha, I mainly bought this for dusty conditions and I plan on putting a Pre Cleaner on it.

Thanks appreciate it, it was definitely an experience. Drilling into the roof for my roof rack was nothing compared to having to tell myself, ok cut a giant hole in your fender.

I mean it’s not too hard to unscrew three small screws haha. It does have the ability to install a petcock valve under it and allow you to just empty it that way, definitely would be cool to have the dipstick though. Either way it does what the product was designed for so it’s a win in my book.

or maybe it's just a Frontier lol, if I wanted a Tacoma I would've bought a Tacoma not a Frontier.

I’ve never driven a Tacoma but that seems to be the going trend from other people who went from a Taco to Frontier. I think the 9 Speed Transmission plays a big part in the acceleration difference.

@@D41Mallcrawler yup only thing I would Hate about the frontier is the waterpump is inside the engine driving by the timing chain I want to find a 22-24 base shortcab frontier

I will be doing an auxiliary battery setup in the next few weeks I believe and I will have this running a float charge to the spare battery that will be powering my fridge.

yea likewise, time well tell. I have ran them in all my other vehicles up until this one and installed this a little bit late. In past vehicles it did definitely do its job, I don't see it being any different here. Just gotta check it like every week I would say for the first month of use to get a pretty good idea of how fast it will need to be drained out.

@@midlifecrisis7888 commons sense would point to it doing something. That oil will be recirculating through the PCV system and over time that would in turn cause build up overtime. I could be completely retarded though.

I would love to see Z1 Off-Road make them, they have been pretty awesome about designing and getting products to the market that the community wants. The tolerances on these trucks are the only downfall I feel like honestly, the rest of the minor issues or inconveniences can easily be overlooked. The tolerance thing is a huge pain having to make certain things work for your specific truck i.e elongating bolt holes etc.

@@D41Mallcrawler True. I have been excited to see companies like Z1 and Victory 4x4 really running with the Frontier platform. I feel like Z1 definitely has the edge to come up with something, although given it not overly complicated, it does leave room for a shop like Hefty to come up with something. But really, it boils down to their willingness to take the risk, because Nissan (while a great platform) has a small but dedicated fan base.

If you plan on running the OE R180 front differential, you can source Infiniti QX80 axles as these have the correct extended length (Rockauto P/N - NI8433). Otherwise, you can find an M205 front differential from the Titan. The M205 is significantly stronger than the R180 and will directly bolt into the Frontier / Xterra. If the M205 is being used, Titan front axles are appropriate for use and you'll want to make sure you have the same gearing for the front and rear diffs.
