Just so you're aware, the reading on the generator is apparent power (VA) not real power in Watts. Google " power triangle" to learn the difference.

Lol! You may want to read the EU7000IS's operator's manual. That generator' running watts is only 5500 (5.5KVA)for constant loading. Electrical devices can cause surges when they start, and Honda is mindful of that so they call it a "7,000" because it can output 7,000 (7.0KVA)watts intermittently to allow for short time surges.

With this generator, if you connect only using the L14-30 to your home, can you go up to 7000 watts for maximum and 5500 watts for continuous ? As you were using the hair dryer in the other connectors , I was wondering if we can reach the maximum using only the L14-30 connector Thanks for the review

" They Say" on a old school tank 4500 watt water heater, if you take one of the wires off the breaker and land it on the neutral bar it lowers the wattage to about 1150 watts@120v, but it takes 4 times as long to heat. I just had a random thought about a 30 amp 3 way snap switch. That is what "they say" so it would seem if you had a 120v generator with only 2000-3000 watts you could still have hot water if you managed your power properly and only ran it on the day when you do not have many lights on. btw my 10 yo eu2000i honda had its fuel pump go bad just recently. consult with a licensed election for all matters involving electricity

Can you overload it via the 240V outlet? Some inverter generators limit the current on the outlet.

Can it also run 220 v. Well pump 1/2 HP....elect water tank .o??

I do believe that Honda generators are underrated for the power they will put out

We use these for telecom backup. Chain them to a unmovable object, fill with fuel, start it up and leave it. Snow or rain, it just runs.

What length and guage cord are you using? I just purchased this item but need a house hook-up with cord.

The thing is though, it's only rated at what, 5500 continuous running wats? How long would it run at say 7,000 watts before tripping since that's over it's rated continuous duty level? Just curious b/c I am thinking about upgrading to one of these but not sure it's quite big enough for my needs.

What is your opinion on getting a water cooled generator and when power is out using the hot coolant to run through the radiators for heating and hot water?

I have a backup generator for my brand new Honda inverter eu7000is because I dont want to put gas in it, and your trying to overload it, your a devil 👺. LOL 🤣😂😅😭

But without your air condition units it's not your whole house..... And your clothes dryer..... I use a 3500 to power my house after hurricane..... I can run some lights, a few fans, tv/router, refrigerator, freezer,.... And two window unit ACs. The two window units keep the house about 80 in hot weather but dehumidified. They cool the living room and master bedroom. It's livable in the peak of day it'll get down to 65 at night. Oh and it only uses 7 gal/ 24 hrs with the AC is running. We get by with microwave, toaster oven, and single electric burner that we put on counter. Just have to stop ACs to use the microwave, toaster oven, burner . Fuel consumption matters when power out 2 weeks. LED bulbs have saved a LOT I've been looking at the EU 7000 because I can add another window unit AC during day, and be able to run the microwave , etc without cutting the ACs off. Could also run the clothes dryer with ACS off. It will consume more fuel but it will be less trouble.

I would like to see two 120V Hondas paralleled with one EU7000is (one on each separate 120V leg). Can you try this?

How about turning on an ac/Inverter 18,000btu would It move it together with freezer and refrigerator? Have to check on does numbers.

How'd you plug in house house power to a generator? I see how u plug a dryer in or any aplliance but not a breaker box.

7200 watts will probably trip it offline, just might run a little longer at 7.2 kw...nice inverter. But when you see the overload light come on a timer starts and it's just a matter of time.

This is quite impressive. People in 50Hz countries (eg British Commonwealth countries) should not that the engine governors in non-inverter generators are set to run at 20% lower speed (3000 RPM, 60Hz countries eg USA run at 3600 RPM) and thus they won't meet their model number/designation power output. Hondas have enjoyed a good reputation, but Chinese near-clones have been better for at least 10 years, and they are a lot cheaper. With inverter generators, electrical rotation is independent of engine RPM and there is no problem.

In the fire dept., Honda equipment NEVER failed us.

For a 5000 dollar generator should be 9500 to 10k watts

There's a reason that this is the most expensive portable generator. wish i could justify buying one of them but we so rarely have power outages does anyone else even MAKE a fuel injected generator???

can i use this for desktop computer (500W, 240V, 4A, or above) with no problem? if there's problem, what solution/s? using a AVR or something? ..

This generator isnt even rated for 7000, its actually a 5000 continues IIRC, So pretty amazing it actually can sustain those loads

RPM goes up with the load, I like inverter generators.
