Hi Cassie, I'm a bit late- for this reaction- do you mind telling me whether your guitar is acoustic or electric? I'm self-taught and have been playing almost 40 years now- I'm sure there's a way to appease your mom while allowing you to take a shot at the guitar. It is one of the greatest joys in my life, and you're so young- it might just grab you (like it did me) and not let go, and if that happens, it might really become a source of fun and expression and release. Listening to music is great, but MAKING music is.... well, there's nothing like it, at least for me. *EDIT* - I saw in the video, you don't have a guitar. OK, if noise is really a problem for your mom, my advice is to get a cheap, used electric guitar. If you decide you want to do it, just reply and I can give you a few ideas, but we might keep the guitar below $100. Then get a GOOD set of headphones, like beats or something, or if those are too much, just make sure to get full ear headphones, not buds. Then get a Lekato wireless guitar transmitter/receiver. look on ebay, like $20. The Lekato will plug in to your electric guitar and then transmit the sound to your headphones. Fully electric guitars (not like Ren's in this video, which is an acoustic guitar that can be plugged in) are VERY quiet unless you plug them into an amplifier. No amplifier, no noise- except through your headphones. Like I said, hit me up in a reply if / when you want to talk about electric guitars that are cheap but plenty good. To be in a band you need to play an instrument (I'm including voice as an instrument here). The ONLY thing between you and starting a band is time spent studying music and practicing your chosen instrument. It's literally that easy, it's literally that hard. "Talent" = exposure + practice. Exposure to lots of different ideas and methods (for music that would mean different genres and studying them, learning scales, etc. - it's all online for free if you look around), and time spent practicing putting those ideas and methods to work. If you want it bad enough, you CAN make it happen. It's just that most people don't want to commit that hard. (Which is totally valid, it's just a choice.)

In my opinion Ren Gill is the most important incomparable unique independent artist of the first half of the 21st Century If his health allows he will make great art and he is the tide that lifts all ships hopefully you will be one of them

Known Dayseeker since around 2013 they've come a long way, incredible band!

Loved the reaction :) If you're interested in doing any Xmas stuff closer to the date, "Winter without you live take" by XG (hip-hop) or Lyric Noel's "Carol of the Bells" (metal) are both great.

You should definitely check out Dayseeker- Sleeptalk it was their first song that got them big and one of my all time favorites! Love the channel btw!
