Ren's dad gave him a guitar when Ren was 10 years old, he said he carried it everywhere. He's self taught from watching artists like Jimi Hendrix on TH-cam and slowing down the videos.
And pick that guitar up. Ren is actually self-taught by watching videos of Jimi Hendrix over and over again in slow motion until he became proficient.

Congratulations on 1,000. I assure you, some of Ren's videos will leave you in tears and some will leave you furious with society, but this one can be somewhat traumatizing. Maybe do a fun one like "Back on 74/Message in a Bottle", "Power", or "What You Want" (there are more fun options than just those 3, but I have things to do). I'll vote for Wednesday/Ren's Day.

The two you’ve seen so far are absolute masterpieces. Some people don’t get it cuz they are expecting or looking for a “normal” song that you’d play in your car or dance to. Hi Ren and The Tales are performance pieces… which are absolutely a lost art. (Hence “BardCore”)
Ren CAN DO IT ALL. He has a beautiful singing voice, he can perform reggae, he’s a phenomenal rapper. He plays many instruments (learned on TH-cam so YOU CAN TOO😊). He has silly songs, sad songs, brutal songs… and absolutely has songs you can jam to in your car or on a dance floor.
He truly is a once in a generation ARTIST. Can’t wait for you to dive deeper! ☮️♥️

The genesis of this story is Ren heard a news story of a young kid stabbing a prostitute. At the end the the newsperson said "it's such a shame". Then Ren's imagination did the rest creating a story of how that incident came to be. A real world where generational violence is unfortunately all too common.
After this you need a "pick me up" song. Check out Back on 74/Message in a Bottle live retake.

Don't fret, this is a perfectly acceptable reaction to this piece of music/art. Captivating, engaging, you absolutely looked captivated and engaged, and I really appreciate your attitude in supposing that you needed to go back to the songs again.
Rens World, it's not always nice, or clean but it's important, now have a palette cleanser and go check out some of his lighter stuff, I suggest something like 'What you want' or 'Back on '74'
Good luck with you channel by the way. If I may I'll make a suggestion, if you pause, skip back a few seconds so that you don't lose the flow, so to speak.
PS, if you don't start guitar now you'll really regret it later. go to a second hand store and buy any acoustic you can afford.

The tales is one of the few videos where the subtitles can keep up with Ren and are fairly accurate. So, I recommend watching it again with the subtitles on to help with becoming accustomed to his accent.

This is a tough one, but the social commentary needs to be talked about and addressed. We are still failing domestic violence victims, and the children caught in the middle or left behind.
Btw you can get a wired guitar with headphones so you will be very quiet while learning or playing.

I started off with hi Ren just over a year ago. I can't get enough of him and I'm old 58. Listen to him every day. Ren is a modern day Shakespeare. He is very talented and he can sing any genre. I bet he can even sing the phone book and make it a classic

Since discovering Ren, I picked up an old ukulele I never learned to play. I brought out an old recorder, bought a kalimba....all of which are useless because I don't have a musical cell in my body. But I keep wanting to try. Sigh. Let him inspire you. Let him inspire you in whatever you do well and maybe you'll find that it's music.

@@justcassietv yeah I have never had an artist wake the creative in me like Ren has. If you want a glimpse of his piano skills I can recommend Mackay. It’s a piano piece with no lyrics that he composed for an old friend of his who passed way too young.

Ren is unfortunately very sick as his Lyme disease has returned, so hopefully he will recover and return to us healthy next year. Ren doesn't only do Bardcore - he does a lot of rap and he can sing like an angel. A lot of his stuff has a deep message but as you have probably read from other comments already, some of his stuff is light and fun. It is cruel for us as a community to ask for this reaction so soon but I think it helps us understand a bit more about you as a reactor to decide if we want to back you fully. Thank you for getting through to the end of this one. None of his other trilogies so far are this brutal in their confrontation.

Ren does come from a musical background although due to various reasons he didnt learn anything musical from his parents. His mother is a vocal coach and writer and his father specialises in playing medieval music on the Lyre and story telling and you can hear that wandering minstrel style a lot with Ren. Its in his genes. His father, Martin Gill, has a TH-cam channel

I bought a guitar (first one) at 30 years old….. I never was even close to Ren’s level but so nice to just be able to accompany yourself singing ❤
You can do it and I suggest you start with just learning a few chords as you can start playing and singing along in literally a couple of weeks…. The start is really hard and hurts quite a bit until you develop some callouses….
I wish I would have started years earlier. Just get a decent acoustic guitar for $200 or less and ask for help picking one up with a low action so that you’re not making it any harder on yourself. I always have been a singer and played piano growing up but guitar is just so much better for singing with as you can play anywhere and can start writing songs fairly quickly if that’s an interest you have.❤

This is what Ren sometimes does to our emotions. You are not the first one to be lost for words at the end of this trilogy and it is not the only song with the potential to leave someone speechless. Jenny had her mom traits and screech had his dad traits also in screech tale when Ren make phone call she busy because she with Patrick that why he never answer the door also in Violet tale at start he does the rewind sound on guitar to show going back in time then later does it forward to the present time

You should 100% absolutely learn! There are soooooo many resources these days. You don’t need a teacher or paid lessons anymore. Ren, for example, taught himself by watching TH-cam videos! And look how great he is! (Frankly, the two videos you’ve seen haven’t even really shown his true guitar skills yet!) All from watching TH-cam videos! YOU GOT THIS! Playing guitar is so much fun. I bet you’ll be great at it. ☮️♥️

I get ya. Honestly the 1st time I listened to these I didn't really like them, The story was incredible and I knew is was a work of genius but it took a 2nd and 3rd listen for me to really feel it.
No worries on your set up. but Keep going, and I like many Renegades don't really check out too many other artists or content. Just no one else out there that hit me the way Ren does.
I feel this is the same with many Renegades. Although we do check out Chinchilla, Dirt Miller, and some of the other artists that Ren has featured or recommended.

Another great reaction... you should buy a guitar. Ren learned to play initially from watching TH-cam videos. His musical style many refer to as Bardcore. Much like Violets tale begins and sounds like a medieval tune. You started with the 2 best intro's to Ren there are. From here you have no clue how much of a ride you are in for. Love Music 1-4, Money Game 1-3, Webby and Ren (Baggage), Ren and Chinchilla (How to be Me), there is rapping Ren (Hunger), singing Ren and Ren and the Big Push...
