Upside Down Guitar Guy

เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 14 ก.ย. 2020
I like to play the guitar and make music in new/creative ways.
I play upside down, hence the name.
I'm also a guitarist/vocalist/songwriter in the alt-rock band, Stay For The Fireworks.
My favorite bands are Death Cab For Cutie, Weezer, and The Beatles.
The best comment I have ever gotten on a livestream was "Why is Mark Ruffalo playing the guitar?"

I got the chance to try out Kauer's guitars at NAMM and they sound as good as they look. I got to talk with Josh and play the Korona Supreme in an isolation booth and wow did it sound good. I bet the Two Rock I was playing through helped, too. 00:00 - Interview with Josh from Kauer 00:53 - I rock out on the flower guitar #nammshow www.kauerguitars.com/instruments

You look like DarkViperAU
Great work! I’ve recently done something similar. A great addition is a powered headphones splitter which allows each person to address their own volume. Volume depends on quality of each person‘s headphones not to mention different people’s ears. I’ve also taken it in step further and purchased wireless headphones transmitters so that we are not tethered to the mixer with a long cord. Best thing ever!
Just watch them over and over when the waiting becomes too much. As a female viewer I try to do my part.
Beato
Tony Sly would be proud.
It STINKS
Damn, that does sound sick. Just had a dude at a party show me open D and that really blew my mind. Less intimidating than I thought it would be!
That song rips. Creed is smoking hot, just ask Beato.
onto 1 year now
Like you, my living situation doesn’t allow a full on loud band situation. This is exactly the information I’ve been searching for. Thanks for the information and real world solution.
cool Punjabi band
Neat!! 🥰
Um...
I always saw these and thought it was just an entertaining gimmick, but you got me thinking this could actually be a record worthy technique some day. Great job!
I had the same reaction! This was my first time using it and I think I could use it for backing string chords or stabs in a recording
1) marvellous creativity 2) hats off to you man, playing the guitar upside down isn't as easy as it seems.. atleast for me it's hell. ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ 3) the guitar after 9 months 🤰🏻🤰🏻
Thank you! It gets easier lol. Why did you start playing upside down? I’m thinking about making a video about it
@@Upside_Down_Guitar_Guy it was an excercise that i invented-or atleast thought so...
That guitar has definitely undergone quite some violating.
Bahahahah
Just found this video, you are so talented! I hope all is well and you are still strumming on. Great cover of one of my favorite songs of all time :)
Thanks! I still love Death Cab

Hello🎉🎉😂😂👍👍👍
Intresting combo
the loudest instrument next to my drummer is my VOICE! Don't be too optimistic about this approach. It will be of course more quite but very far away from silent.
To make your monitoring easier. I'd look into Xvive U4 in ear monitors. It's a single transmitter that plugs into your mixers output. And is able to have multiple transmitters linked to it. It also is incredibly affordable.
Left handed guitar, strung right handed.... AND, played left handed, therefore, upside-down. Now, if you aren't self taught my friend, I'll go he. Awesome! Beautiful intro to a beautiful song.
You're exactly right!
For real.
This would be sooo perfect, if only it were headless
tabs?
Honestly incredible! I wish i could play like this!
I love everything about this band!
I know this video's been up for a while, but I just wanted to say thanks as I found this super helpful to start working my setup out. I now have a 12 channel Behringer mixer with 3 mics, 2 guitars (1 through Line 6 amp, 1 through Valeton GP200), 1 bass (through Spark Go), and an Alesis electric drum kit plgged in. I then run out to a single PA speaker if we want sound, or headphone out if we want silent. Also run a line out from the master to a little Tascam recorder if we want to record anything. Just one addition, I use a Lekato MS-1 wireless IEM system. It's cheap ($50 for a transmitter and receiver) and I have a single transmitter paired to 6 receivers, so everyone gets the same mix, but the headphones are wireless which is nice and avoids the need for the splitters. Really grateful you posted this video, it was a great help!
So glad this was helpful to you!
Do you plug your guitars straight into mixer's line inputs? I've heard that doing that would cause the guitar signal to sound very quiet and you'd also lose a lot of tone. Do you use DI boxes? Or does your mixer have a switch for line input/instrument input?
I didn't use any DI boxes, I just put the HX stomp and Helix outputs directly into the line inputs of the mixer. I think it worked well because Helix stuff is all made with the intention of going straight into a mixer or an FRFR speaker anyway.
YOU TOLD ME THE WATER MADE YOU FEEL SMARTER SO WHY DO I FEEL LIKE A FOOL
Instead of a headphone splitter, I'd suggest a headphone amplifier so you don't dilute your tone and it's easier to control volume for each member. Check out the ART HeadAmp6Pro 6
August is Falling was the voice of an entire generation. Who do you call to get someone nominated into the rock and roll hall of fame?
:(
FIRE WILL BURN!!!!!
It’s the Applebees of music. Stuffs garbage but then you see the southwest chicken egg rolls and cognitive dissonance sets in.
how do you actually set it up on the stomp? not talking about the app
I did it on the computer, but I think it'd be pretty similar on the stomp. Set up your left signal chain so that you include the harmonizer in the key you want.
Beato

mgk #2 is on the way
wait a second his profiles background ITS WEEZER ITS ALL WEEZER HIS ENTIRE CHANNEL WAS FOR WEEZER
=w=
Wow.. amazing.
I'm waiting for Medicate and a little stinkers on all the songs FFDP has covered.
Loved the video. Just finding out about vocal harmonizers, seems like a super powerful tool creatively and also to explore music theory in a very practical way -through one's voice. Stoked to find out the Stomp does this, keeps on impressing me with its potential after years
Nice review! I saw Paul's video too. Your video sounds beautiful too.
playing this normally is hard enough bro 😂😭 what a legend
Beautiful
Been doing this for years except I use a cheap focusrite scarlett audio interface and reaper. And for the drums I use GGD matt halpern P4 kit which sounds absolutely phenomenal and better than anything found in the e kit and you just need to know how to set up the midi. You have alot more control using reaper and can actually record yourselves. Also another way to make it even quieter is to lift up the kit off the floor with a small platform or atleast laying down a thick carpet and the major issues are doors, windows, and adjoining walls.
Brilliant! I bought GGD Modern and Massive but couldn’t figure out how to use it for the life of me.
@@Upside_Down_Guitar_Guy Theres a video on youtube somewhere were he shows you how to set up your ekit to trigger the GGD drum sounds. It mightve been the dude from GGD or maybe a random. If I can find it on my saved list ill post it as the basic premise works for all that type of stuff
I think his guitar is upside down
If you remember the early 90s, band Four Horsemen, song "Rockin is Ma Business". Quite probably the definition of this subgenre. If not watch this: <th-cam.com/video/M9GCA0cEKIk/w-d-xo.html>. "Dead Man Trail" nails this perfectly.
How many channel for the interface?
The mixer has 4 channels and my interface has 2
