    I have just purchased one of these yesterday. Hardley any imbalance and so smooth running. Sometimes I think the stones will never stop when I switch off. For my purposes, it's a vast improvement over an old B&Q 150W grinder that has just parted company from its plastic base. I now want a Polisher and another grinder with polishing mops will be cheaper than a dedicated polisher, using the same motor but badged differently. I am a fan of Titan.

    Such a useful video; thanks. I find to get even better results, fit the best compressionless brake housing: Yokozuna Reaction, which is even stiffer than Jagwire (on the latter, as you know, is Kevlar, whereas on the former, it's a series of thin steel rods in a circle).

    I have a similar camera ezivis S5 with 32gb microsd card. If you take the card out when the camera is off and put it in a card reader, you can take the video files from the card and transfer them to your phone. The camera actually compresses the video as it films and saves as 2 separate files, raw uncompressed MP4, and compressed MP4. It does this instantaneous on the fly as it is recording with absolutely 100% no loss in performance. It is worthy.

    I can confirm this, ive got 2 sets of bike with spyres and jagwire compressionless. The one with the latest sora r3000 is a lot stronger with the one using tiagra 4600, it's a huge difference, with the sora's i can skid the rear wheel with minimal effort and lever travel from.the hoods, while i can only do this with the 4600 when on the drops

  • @davidcooper8241

    Thanks, this is helpful. My summary of setup advice; 1. Attach the caliper to the fork / frame without cable attached. Leave it loose enough to adjust position. 2. Clamp the brake pads to the disc by winding in each pad adjusted an equal amount. 3. Tighten the caliper to the fork / frame. 4. Unscrew the pad adjusters 1 click on each side. Check if the wheel now spins freely. 5. If not, loosen further. Aim is to loosen minimum amount that doesn't rub. 6. Attach cable, check brake. If needed, adjust barrel adjuster on the caliper. Don't make further adjustments to the pad adjusters at this stage.

    Wondering if the vibration caused by imbalances in the stones is cancelled by moving the stones about the shaft relative to each other rather than rotating the clamping plates on the wheels. I cannot see that rotating the plates on the wheels would make any significant difference to a vibration problem caused by grinding wheel imbalances

    I have just bought a CS4000 which is more or less the same as this one. before use grease the sprocket at the tip of the bar. There are two holes in the bar itself for sprocket bearing lubrication, you will need a chainsaw grease gun in able to do this, place the pointed tip into one of the holes at the tip of the bar and pump the grease gun until grease in visible around the chain at the tip of the bar.

    Thank you for posting this video TOB. It was very useful for me to see someone else doing and commenting on what I also did yesterday. Without personal experience posts like this, we are simply at the mercy of company advertising and/or sponsored posts. However, I would like to add a couple of 'balancing' comments as I personally did not get the negative experiences that you did. I'm no expert on grinders but every fast-spinning thing I own would move more than that if not FIXED DOWN. Thankfully mine doesn't move similarly but your video seems similar to Jeremy Clarkson flooring a sports car and trying to say that torque-steer is a terrible problem when the solution of just holding the steering wheel is not normal. Simple fixings to a stable workbench might be sufficient to resist some limited balancing problems? We assume every product is tested (and balanced) before sale but this might often be a small percentage of products. I would also guess that there would always be some imbalance unless the grinding wheels are of equal size and grit density. Could it be worth swapping the wheels to see if the imbalance movements on an unfixed grinder reverse equally? Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about this because I bought one just BEFORE seeing your video. I'm very glad that I purchased this model but I wonder if this would have added enough negative thoughts to have made me look elsewhere if I 'd watched this video before choosing the right grinder for me...? Obviously, we will always need to research any additional guidance for 'balancing' procedures that are not readily detailed in the manufacturer's standard instructions. Oh, and yeah - the inability to adjust the tool rest shelf angle seems weird. However, additional 'props' can be used on these flat to set particular angles.

    If you think the button to open the dust door is fiddly, just wait until you have sucked up the dirt from your car or motorhome and you need to get the dust out of the filter, which is lodged behind the wire grill. I have yet to work out how to remove wire grill from HEPA filter, as the top appears only to be fixed to the base of the grill by the paper filter, which when twisting distorts the filter. The filter so say can be washed, but id want to remove all traces of large dust from the outside before trying. If you work out how to remove wire grill from internal HEPA filter, please let me know. I think the vacuum will work well otherwise.

    I’m researching these brakes to replace my single piston Tektro mira calipers that came on my gravel bike & have a question: I’ve seen that I need to also purchase 160mm adapters so they will work on my rotor size. This seems very strange to me since rotor size 160mm seems to be the standard disc brake size in the industry. If I understand right, these brakes come out of the box to fit 140mm size rotors?

    • @myscreen2urs
      @myscreen2urs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The minimum rotor size on a rear wheel is 140mm whereas it's 160mm on the front without using a size adapter. So you have to add a size when fitting for a rear disc
