The channel is here to try and help anybody build their own computer. All builds are bought by me and sold on at cost on Let Go or Facebook Market. All components reviewed are also purchased by me so there is no influence on the opinions offered, so hopefully the impartial advice I give will be helpful.

Cooler Master NR200 Student SFF (ITX) Build Upgrade to LAN Party Gaming Build
I upgraded my 2700x and 1080ti that I built about 7 years ago to a 5800x3d and 4070ti super. This is the cooler I was using thw whole time and just slapped it onto the 5800x3d. I'm concerned if I should have gotten a new one. So far its been fine.
For me it depends on what you’re doing. If it’s only gaming then you should be ok. Try and keep an eye on CPU temps when you’re playing. Some games hit the CPU more than others.
A bit late to the party, but I use a piece of software called Fan Control. You can assign fan curves tied to components. I have the pop mini air, and use the top front fan for cpu intake, bottom front for the GPU and have the rear exhaust fixed at 50%. Both front intakes run on a curve based on temps.
Very interesting suggestion. I’ve moved away to 011 mini now but I’ll pin this for others to try.
Idk what my issue is but I’m thermal throttling at 85-100celcius I’m not sure what’s wrong
Really? Did you leave the sticker on the bottom of the CPU block. I’ve done that a couple of times.
I have a X9DRi-LN4F myself and I'm looking for a case right now, but I cannot for the life of me figure out if all the mounting holes fit properly. Did you manage to mount all the screw holes properly or are some left unpopulated? In the video i seem to see you leaving one of the screw holes unpopulated, the inbetween the coolers, but overlaying a schematic of supermicro mounting holes and the holes as shown in fractal designs manual, they seem to line up. So I'm just confused.
I did but I had to move some of risers around. Once I did that I had no problem.
I visually lined up the holes with riser holes on the case and moved them. If you need extra risers there are some in the accessories box.
@@jimbopcbuilds thank you so much! this is the first actually useful information I got in 3 days of searching. Nowhere could I find a definitive answer. I am slightly worried about the force being exerted on the motherboard by the coolers (i have very similar coolers, plain 212 and 212x). But I guess with proper mounting it should be fine.
I was worried as well but the mounting of the cooler combined with the number of motherboard mounting points takes it no problem. Keep in mind the 212 isn’t the heaviest of coolers. You’ll have to let me know how your build goes.
I am planning to do a little build log on my blog, just to get something else searchable on the internet so for other in the future it'll be easier to answer the "where will my huge supermicro board fit" question. I will link it once online. Currently I've messaged a seller in germany (im in the netherlands) whos selling a new one for 160+shipping. If that doesnt pan out ill buy new. Next week is exam week though so earliest when ill have time to do anything about this will be next weekend.
love the shirt mate
Thank you. 🙂

Thank you 😀
go far man
Thank you
I can promess you, it did the Job . My cpu was in heat(75C) , now just (22C)
Twice my testing hasn't gone well. On both the 10700k and the 12900k. I think I may have got a bad product. All other reviews haven't had the saem problem to be fair.
@@jimbopcbuilds verify the thermopaste
@@jimbopcbuilds makes sure all fan's cable are connected to a power source and that you cleaned the previous paste and replaced by a good one. I don't see why it wouldn't work if you have direct contact with the cpu touching the Assassin. If all fans turned, the rest is material.
@@synaestesia-bg3ew I did all those things both times. I always do.
@@jimbopcbuilds what max temperature is overheating? Did it move down to even a degree?
Can I fit Silent Wings 4 pro fans into Phantom Spirit 120 SE or Pearless Assassin?
I would expect so as long as you use the 120 version. The clips used to install the fans are pretty standard.
@@jimbopcbuilds Yes I will be using 120 ones. Thank you for the answer.
@@Whiteshade You're very welcome
Thermalright keeps disrupting the market with their pricing 😅😅
They really do. A 360 for $57 is nuts, but one that performs so well is something else.
can you do a thermal test for the 240mm version?😊
I don't have the 240. Obviuosly it'll have less cooling capacity than the 360. Check out season where I test the 360 against a 12900k. Use that as the base and roughly take 10-15% off that. Based on what I've seen with 360 I wouldn't use the 240 on anything too high end.
@@jimbopcbuilds i will cool the 7800x3d with aio which is not kinda hot
@@samueletirelli3611 You should be ok, but I obviously can't say for certain.
@@jimbopcbuilds ok thank you
M4824 VS Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE. I will travel tomorrow and i need to choose
It’s literally the next cooler video
Used this SE-226-XT twice, very silent & CPU temp always good. Why need Deepcool & Noctua when you can just have this cheap one ?
It’s pretty decent. What CPUs did you use it with?
@@jimbopcbuilds I used in both 13500 & 12400F
Just bought this
Nice. I've done the testing for my video and spoiler alert, you won't be disappointed.
I was excised for this case. Delivered from Amazon. Started building. Noticed front fan rails were buckled. Put 3 140mm fans in anyways. Noticed fans not level with the top. Put front door on and would not close. Noticed the case was lopsided on left. like someone sat on it. Bummer. Eneded up going with Deep Cool Morpheus. I wanted to use this case but none available for a week.
That is indeed a bummer. Did they give you a full refund?
how does it compare to the thermalright phantom spirit 120?
I covered that in the next video of the cooler league
@@jimbopcbuilds thanks, i'll check it out
Hey, I built my current pc in August of 2023 and was confused with the argb/ fan controller hub on the back of this case. I've had everything plugged into the proper places on my motherboard from the hub (the 3pin argb and the fan controller) But I seem to run into a problem when any fans are connected to the hub the fans will only partially light up and I have no way of controlling their color only their speed.( From my understanding as well with my PSU i have 3 Sata 5pin x3’s and the hub is connected to one of those.) At this point, I've just dealt with not having functioning argb but I found this video randomly and thought I'd ask for some help lol. If I wasn't clear on something let me know and I can try to explain further. Thanks! Ps this is my build list if it all helps: Mobo- Ds3h B550 Psu- Evga 700w Bronze GPU- Rx 6600 CPU- Ryzen 5 5600 (stock CPU cooler) Ram- 2x8gb T-Froce Vulcan Z Fans- 3 base included fans (x2 front, x1 back) Storage- 1tb M.2 NVME SSD again any help would be great it's not the end all be all but it is supper annoying considering I paid for the ability to use these argb fans haha
Have you connected the RGB cable from the fan controller to the correct header on your motherboard? I did wonder about the number of fans = LEDs but 3 shouldn't be a problem.
@@jimbopcbuilds yeah, i connected it to the proper argb header, I posted this around in reddit to see if I could get help but so far no luck either
You might be better filming a short video of what’s happening and all the cables. It’d be easier to see if there’s anything obviously not right.
@@jimbopcbuilds since my last message I just went ahead and reached out to lianli themselves. I pulled the fan hub off the case and found what looked like to be some damage to the board (wasn't from me, a bit annoying but whatever) I just reached out to see if I could get a replacement and have them send replacement cables as well just in case. I really appreciate your help though!
At least you know what the issue is now and it’s nothing you did which is good. You’ll have yo let me know how Lian Li respond.
Thank you for your work!
Thank you for the posistive feedback.
Thank you so much. I purchased the white version for my build. I'm switching up the CPU for a 14900K and I'm pretty confident this cooler will work just fine.
Glad I could help! Let me know how the upgrade goes.
I have a Air cooler peerless assassin and i use this with a core i7 x99 5960x with a overclock at 4.6ghz 1.32v

What am i doing wrong 😭😭
how do you connet power sw, power led+ powerled-,hdd led and reset sw to motherboard
There’s a header on your motherboard. The jumpers location and how to add them is in your motherboards manual.
Enjoying progression of your channel. Furnace/heating department at local hardware store will sell filter mesh material that you could cut and put in front of fans to collect dust, not sure how easy or hard your fan covers are to pop off. Hope to see another old modded case of yours.
Thanks for the tip and thank you for positive feedback. I was only able to bring 2 PCs with me from the UK. The other old case I have has my NAS sitting in it. So may tidy that up as well. But I think next I may hunt for an old case and may be build a sleeper.
Nice build sir. I really like the concern for looks without gping all out to spend hundreds of dollars. A few handtools and you're done :)
Thank you and indeed. I’m also really glad I was able to get the best out of an older case that I really love.
Cheers good info here
Thank you :)
I got this case I have no idea where the power button is. There no cable coming from where the power button is supposed to be. Do you know where it is?
It should on the top front right corner if memory serves by the USB ports.
How do you change the color fans
If you haven’t connected the fan controller 3 pin RGB cable to the motherboard then use the small button next to the power button.
Hi Jim, looking at this or the SE 226 XT for AMD AM4 socket. First time I would be hanging so much weight on a vertical motherboard. How well do you think the motherboard can withstand the concentrated stress points caused by the tall cooler's applied torque over time? I might want to prop the cooler up to be safe..Thanks!
The cooler utilizes either its own back plate or AMD one which helps secure it. I used the cooler master MA824 stealth for a time in my main PC and I never had an issue. So based on what I’ve seen I don’t think you’ll have a problem. Watch out for cooler clearance with your case. That can be more of an issue with larger coolers.
Thanks Jim, Ill give it a try
did u have this issue? its very unstable: th-cam.com/users/shortsfTFjyUsJnzY
WelshyTech says the Magic Scenic V2 is better than the Notte. It's even cheaper. Any thoughts?
I’ve not tested it so it’s difficult to say. I’m just starting season 2 so I’ll add it to the list for the season.
@@jimbopcbuilds Thanks! I'll probably order it to see if it really does better. Welshy says the Notte is loud, but it's pretty quiet as far as I'm concerned. My Cooljag Everflow fan is MUCH louder, not to mention my Delta! ;) BTW, are you aware of any other good quality brands that are as cheap as TR?
@@ThePCExpertAmateur Deepcol aren't too ba, but tbh price, TR are hard to beat.
@@jimbopcbuilds There are plenty of great AIOs out there. The problem is that most of them are overcharging, and TR proves that again and again. The only other brands I see trying to compete with them are crap brands like SAMA and Draecena. I'm not saying that TR has the best quality necessarily, but they really show us that we're overpaying. At least in the USA!
@@ThePCExpertAmateur Agreed. I do wonder how much of that is down to patents etc.
Thanks so much. You are literally the only guy who compared it properly to air coolers
To be fair it’s difficult to compare. That’s why I took the point system approach to try and make that easier.
@@jimbopcbuilds can I ask: in terms of noise-normalized performance.. Do you think it's worth changing from a Thermalright peerless assassin to a frozen Notte 360? I understand the 360 is louder especially with the pump, but I would anyway need 3 intake fans in my case.. So the comparison is; frozen Notte (3 fans) or peerless assassin 5 fans (3 on case and 2 on cooler)? Thanks!
@@nikolakostic5667 Personally I would go with the peerless assasin and case fans.
@@jimbopcbuilds thank you!
@@nikolakostic5667 You're very welcome
thanks for the install video. It was a 8 degree improvement over stock intel cooler running a xeon 5680, (32c vs 40c). bottom plate that touches cpu is not smooth , has rough machine grooves in it, and is coated in chrome or aluminum, cable that powers led comes out the underside of display would of been better cable mgmt it it routed out top, really tight fit for the first stick of ram, had to elevate fan about 3 fins higher, fins are good quality and didn't seem overly sharp, display lights up nice , runs very quite compared to stock intel cooler
You’re very welcome 🙂
Can the aio handle 7800x3D?
I don't know for certain as I haven't tested, but based on what I know I think yes. The 7800X3D has reduced clocks so doesn't run too hot compared to others, so I think you'll be good.
Just found your channel, great to see you're still building like a champ, those LAN party skills never die!
They never do. I still have the old website and all the old pictures. Some of the best times ever.
my case doesnt have any space for 360 aio at max it support 280 ,and i wanted to buy assassin iv do you think it gives good performance to i7 13700 for gaming usage?
I’m retesting some of the coolers for season 2 on a 12900k. Based on what I’ve seen so far I’d recommend the cooler master MA824 Stealth
So… Deepcool AK620 or Cooler Master MA824? Not counting on design style
Taking design out of it and may be price, the MA824 for me.
I'm probably going with a K3 Pro or Max. That's basicly a K6 but with flatter Gateron switches, as far as I can tell. Thanks for your review.
Nice. I have another Keychron on my desk at home attached my dock and it’s really good. They are generally really good keyboards and the mice ain’t bad as well.
Hi the pump is the block on cable? thats not a problem for bubble?
Yes the pump is away from the block and so is the cable. There is a data adapter if you need to use that. I had a pump header on the motherboard so I connected it to that. Check on your motherboard to see if you have the same.
@@jimbopcbuilds sorry I don't know anything about it but what is this adapter for? I don't have my PC yet but I have an MSI Carbon wifi
The adapter is to use sata power rather than connecting it to the motherboard. The carbon wifi boards I’ve used in the past do have a pump header. Check the manual if you’re not sure which one it is.
great review. i agree a screwdriver should be included because not everyone lives somewhere that they can just pop down to the hardware store to pick one up.

@@arrohan2297 Never heard of the case and I don't think it's available in the US. The cooler though, yes it's very good.
Well but I'm confused for my Casing, tho montech air 100 is good but gpu size is 33mm and I need more So, Do you have suggestion, which will be good for me and I just want a good build quality and easy to clean, that kind of pc casing
Helpful video! I just got the newest rendition of this case with a usb-c connector on the front, supposed to come today but it's coming tomorrow (womp womp) but at least i have time to plan it out a bit. i am just switching cases, got a new desk and the old case is too big to fit in the slot made for the pc
Nice. It's a good case and was fun to build in. You'll have to let us know how it went. Also you should publish your build on builds.gg to share it. I publish all my builds there.
It's really cheaper in your country... That's why I'm going for Ak620
Oh ok. The biggest plus for the PA 120 is the price to colling performance ratio, so if it's more expensive where you are then I'd agree with your choice.
bro its hard to find the MSI Core Frozr now
I’ve not seen it for a while. I’ll take a look though.
Some on ebay under $45, got mine for $40 (25 +15 shipping)
@@kokakolakid9767 Nice
Would this cooler be alright for a 13900k for gaming only? Im planning on getting this cpu along with a cheap cooling solution.
Yes it’ll be fine. I’ve recently tested it in my upgraded test bench (12900k) and it was fine.
@@jimbopcbuilds thank you for the response, as i plan to purchase a 13900k for a cpu intensive game, and there isnt really a cooling solution that is this cheap without having to downgrade the cpu so i can get a better cooler.
When I stressed it on the 12900k it got a bit loud (as most do) but it didn’t thermal throttle at any stage.
@@jimbopcbuilds i actually might swap the fans, with the arctic p12 pst pwm argb. As theyre on the highest performing aio the arctic liquid freezer. Since the price kind of hits the fans hard on this one, ill pay the extra 45 dollars on a 3 pack of the argb fans to reduce noise and hopefully increase performance and decrease temps.
Not a bad plan. The fans will more than likely be quieter as well.
urgent : i bought this cooler , but there some people warn me to use it with my processor (i9-12900ks) , & told me it is not good ¬ enough , so i need your word to know if i can run it or no
I haven’t tested with a 12900k so I can’t say for certain. I would say however that if you’re not planning to do CPU intensive tasks you should be fine.
how did you change the lighting
I connect all the lighting to the hub and connected that to the three pin header on the motherboard.
It is good for Ryzen 7 5800x
I would expect so yes. Although some 5800x run quite warm.
I can't find any information on the dimensions of the radiator in relation to the height of the RAM modules. I have all four slots filled with Trident Z Neo, which have a height of about 43 mm.
The front fan can be adjusted to not impact RAM. As for the actual cooling tower it self, I doudt it would be wide enough without fans to impact RAM. The thermalright does carry measurements for the radiator height and width if that helps?
