I was a little worried in the umass lowell game seeing how often Gonzaga was losing their guy on defense/not switching/looking lost. Their defense looks great so far this season but not knowing where you’re supposed to be on defense is NOT going to fly against better teams. They’ll get torn apart if they play like that against SDSU. I hope they cleaned that up during practice over the weekend. But there are so many positives about this team that I’m so excited about. Battle is incredible and Braden Huff has progressed such much since last season. I can’t believe we have a player as good as Huff coming off the bench - this team is deep with talent. Go Zags!!! I dislike sdsu almost as much as I dislike UConn

Ike looks like he has the yips. He's missing bunnies and dunks. If he can just have a game where they're going down I'm confident he'll be back on track. Hopefully that happens SOON.

Looking forward to hosting the Zags at Viejas. Miles Byrd would be a big loss but other guards will step up like BJ Davis and Nick Boyd (FAU Final Four starter). Maroon Gwath also has a 3 point stroke for being a 7’. SDSU is one of the toughest programs at home and our freshman are very good with Pharaoh Compton and Taj Degourville. SDSU was not favored last year as well.

Can't wait, SDSU's defense is always tough!

Ike and Gregg are both adjusting to battle and ajayi in the lineup....team chemistry takes awhile to develop.

Early season rankings are a crapshoot. One great game, one good game so small dataset. My gut says six was about right.

As a fan with a small child, I’ll be recording those late games and watching later. Just isn’t worth the exhaustion these days.

Too high

Watched FSU last year...Darrin Green was the 3-point shooter on the team last year, shot 38% (78/205)...and everyone else struggled to shoot the 3-ball...'24 FSU team was 288th last year per KenPom...Green graduated....now FSU through 2 games this season is shooting a team 22% from 3 which is 330th per KenPom...just disgusting. While I agree, Warley isn't some big time 3-point shooter, I feel his volume of 1-7 last year is far too low to not consider him a shooter....He reminds me of a Nigel Williams-Goss who had the body to back down his defender and score at will at the rim.

Was a little nervous about what I was hearing til you said he intended to redshirt. Given that he’s somewhat of a defense first guard (makes sense given how Virginia plays), and that we already have Innocenti who is similar in that regard, I wonder how well he fits. Maybe his offensive game will improve at GU, which wouldn’t surprise me, but I don’t see Few turning GU into a St. Mary’s style program. That said, having big guards that can defend never hurts, and has obviously been something of a weak spot for Gonzaga in the past, so could make sense.

Gonzaga is stupid & will miss the boat on jun yuk seo. He should have never went to Gonzaga. Gonzaga will never win a championship. They suck.

So Gonzaga beats two big 12 teams and its a let's reevaluate the team because one was a blowout and the other closer than ( wanted ) . Sicking how other top 10 teams play much lesser competition and its ( look at the power dunks and execution ) while folks hate on Gonzaga because they weren't perfect which is why the season starts usually with lighter games till the lineup solidifies and here Gonzaga plays upper tier teams and its doom and gloom , sad .

Might be seeing Huff and Ajayi starting if the keep this up

ASU reminds me of a Mich St team we played last season, a underrated good team but Mich St fell off it with ASU great recruiting class they got last season I think they will be ranked this season

Andy these Zags are built to be able to play several different kinds of ways , this is only the second game and players are just becoming accustomed to their teammates.

Please look at Ike’s numbers they aren’t that bad . Gonzaga are going to have resistance from the power 5 teams , that’s the nature of the level they play .

While talking to my dad after the game, I also gave Braden Huff my “MVP of the game” award. He has clearly developed SO MUCH during the off-season. Huff is a big dude, and he’s turned a lot of that bigness into lean muscle. It’s made him into an athletic beast. He’s been putting in the work and it shows!

Battle has some hops! Thought Nembhard's lob was a little too strong but he was still able to throw it down
