The Emotional and Psychological benefits of Belief in Heaven and Angels (Devas)
00:39 Q1: Dear Ajahn, in recent sessions you have described that a belief in heavens, angels and devas etc, is an aspect of convention Right View for Buddhist practitioners. As well as spiritual benefits, in an age where a lot of people experience anxiety and loneliness, are there potentially some emotional or psychological benefits to embracing such a world view, which might be useful in the present circumstances.
29:01 Q2: Dear Ajahn Achalo thanks to you I meditate every day since February 2022, I passed to meditate from 45 min to 3 hours daily (and even 5 hours/day in some periods) and this has brought a lot of meaning into my life, but now I feel a bit tired and wanted to reduce my meditation practice to 2 hours and 30 minutes or maybe 2 hours and 45 minutes daily, would that be still enough and effective? I know S.N. Goenka recommended you to meditate 3 hours daily at least so I wanted to emulate you. FYI, I alternate between walking and sitting meditation and don't meditate for 3 hours in a row but in a session of 1 hour each. Thank you
35:20 Q3: Dear Phra Ajahn, I feel a lot of love for many aspects of culture and tradition in the East; however, I was born in a country that is far away from you all. Even from a young age I felt comfortable with elements of many other cultures. Here I feel disconnected from my culture of birth, like I'm on the outside of things, trying to find a home in many diverse experiences. So is there something in my karmic history that explains all of this? If so, what should I do to fix it? How to go home?
43:00 Q4: Dear Ajahn, When I was in primary school and high school, some of the girls played the Ouija board, I saw the glass move on both occasions and found this quite disturbing. Would this have been a negative energy from the ghost realm?
46:44 Q5: How to deal with colleagues who are rude and talk behind your back in a new company?

My brother and I were overjoyed when we received him at the door. My brother wanted to do a chant upon receiving him, but Luang Por said is was not necessary and he stepped into the house. When we all stepped into the house the place became a big hall fille...

00:23 Q1. Dear Ajahn, may I please ask this potentially selfish question? Thank you very much Ajahn for very enlightening talk. I am hearing your talk after a long time. This talk is really encouraging. This has really inspired me to share my merits with Devas who protect Buddha Dhamma with more faith. May the Devas protect you and provide you more vigor to share Dhamma. 🙏🙏🙏
Hello Ajahn. Just came back from Bodh Gaya yesterday and started listening to your gaya talks. Meeting you and practising alongside you by the Bodhi tree(though for a short period) has been a blessed experience for me. I hope i can do more such retreats, feeling grateful that i reside very close to Bodhgaya. Aspiring to meet you more, hopefully with less feverish health next time 🙏🙏🙏
@@ankurimaborah4119 glad to see you again. Glad you are nearby as well! Next time can stay for longer :)

Also, I want to mention that coming from a secular Western background, what has made me most receptive to the idea of ethereal realms was my meditation on the spontaneity of my own birth, within the context of the Buddhist principle of dependent origination. A bit of a mouthful there but, I would really appreciate a talk hammering home the irrefutable point of dependent origination.. I feel certain it is a fundamental prerequisite for right view & acknowledging kamma & rebirth. Thanks for your consideration Ajahn, much love.
I don’t think I have the intellectual fortitude for that one! But it sounds like you already know how to contemplate in such ways. 😊 all the best.
Thanks for sharing Ajahn, I always enjoy your talks. It was interesting to hear this Krishna entity's current interactions with the world.

Beautiful and inspiring to hear such elaborations on devas, rebirth and other realms! If taken to heart in a balanced way, I feel these views do indeed seem to lead to a wholesome sense of spiritual urgency. There's something very protecting and uplifting about this too. Hearing about Sakka's presence at Anandagiri was an incredibly beautiful and moving imagery. Thank you for taking the risk to share! I hope Luang Por Piak won't mind. I also agree that Sakka seems very cool :) I've come to appreciate the more esoteric and colorful aspects of Mahayana Buddhism, although I don't resonate as much with their entirety of practice as I appreciate the more practical approach of the Thai Forest Monastery tradition. That being said, your emphasis and willingness to speak to such things really adds to the teachings and possibly fills an existing vacuum, at least coming from and reaching westerners. Please continue your meanderings, Ajahn! You do it well and it comes across as logical and composed. Thank you! Sadhu!
Thank you so much, Ajahn. I very much enjoy your reflections on the devas and other realms, and you are absolutely right - the lack of awareness of these spiritual truths causes a lot of problems in the West in mainstream culture. Best regards from the US!
Thank you
