I didnt know aeons could be that broken, what did you do to make bahamut deal more than 9999 damage?
I think baha naturally has no cap. Other eions need items to break cap afaik
@@Szotyimotyika Correct. The other aeons need the celestial weapons' crests in order to break damage limit (and you have to use that crest on the celestial weapon for it to activate for each aeon)
The fact that you guys went through the hassle of finding the memory values is just mind blowing and putting it all together is amazing !

Such an awesome video! I have two questions regarding RNG manipulation: 1. Can you potentially get all attacks as critical hits by doing some kind of manipulation that does not consume your current turn? This, of course, not including increasing your Luck stat. 2. How many successful steals can you get per enemy? I know that the chance is halved each time, but does the game at some point "round" the effective chance to zero, thus making it impossible to have any more successful steals?
Someone who did a TAS of FFX at rpglimitbreak mentioned in their commentary that manipulating RNG for crits takes too long, so they have the ai omit it.

Concerning critical hits, each main party character has their own RNG value that accounts for crit chance, and is also responsible for hit chance. Grayfox from the FFX speedrun community has mapped out how all the crits work so we DO know how to manipulate a single crit. There has been a good amount of effort into extra battles/attacks/etc to manipulate Kimahri crit on Gui, but it's still a bit buggy so it was not showcased for RPGLB. In theory, an indefinite number of crits could be sequential, but since those RNG values advance once at the start of every battle and twice per action in battle (not exactly how it works but close enough for this thread), it would take massively more info than just lining up all the crits for say 20 attacks in a row. For consecutive steals, yes it reduces chances via logarithmic regression (half chance every time). Without changing the RNG values, the most I've seen in a run is 4-5, and those are the anomalies. I have not done the math beyond that.

Go to Playlist settings. In the popup, you will see a drop-down menu in the lower left where you can see play order options.
Something to encourage healers (from a mainly DPS player such as Myself): If you start with a healer, you're going to learn healing fast. Just like with anything - if you start and settle with something and stick to it, it will be easier to be good at it, than if you already started with something and then later decided to switch to the other thing. It will be way harder to adapt (not impossible though). Healers are arguably the best players in the game and nobody can tell you otherwise! Not only do they have to know boss mechanics themselves, but also have to make sure that your party/raid members do too. And if somebody dies, you can blame them for being dumb.
Try new things, find what you enjoy, and then get real good at it. Not exactly a motto but it seems to be a pretty good plan.
I already know pretty much everything about WoW, but still decided to click on your videos. I LOVE it when people do stuff like this! I'll show my friends this series, they're new in WoW and want to learn.

How come the fight at the start plays the normal battle music?
That's a symptom of the cutscene remover mod. If you want the normal music, unfortunately you have to play unmodded with all the cutscenes back in.
But It is fun to find something niche, like for mages I really enjoy the greater invisibility ability that's right before Time Anomoly (Sorta meta at this stage where you have a chance to gain timewarp for 6 seconds, combustion for 5 seconds, or regain 1 fireblast charge)
Helps me save durability loss on wipes :)
I have some ideas for down-the-road to do some deep dives on the different talent tree with a class expert, but we've got a ways to go on fundamentals first. For now, I'm recommending that everyone consults your nearest class expert for your own trees. :D

I've really enjoyed this. I have a question about the menu-ing though: does your bot sleep for a period after you open/transition menus or is it constantly checking some area of memory to see whether or not you have control and can select/confirm items?
It reads the cursor position which is set to zero (the top element in the menu) and constantly tries to move it to the desired menu item. Then it reads the level of menu we are currently in (also in memory) and keeps pressing Confirm until the level changes (aka opens another menu).
@@coderwilson Interesting. Your video inspired me to try my hand at this myself (for another RPG) and I found difficulty when trying to select the first item in a menu; because the menu opens on index 0 and the program would press confirm immediately, not knowing there was an animation playing and a brief period of non-interactivity. I suppose some cases need the program to wait and watch for very specific outcomes to know if they've done their task but I was probably trying to make it too generic.

This is really cool. One day a 100% run will be possible.
I'd say already possible with enough time to just create the route. The biggest blocker would be the fourth Chocobo training, but the other three and the Remiem races are already programmed. Other concerns like lightning dodging or butterflies, we already have enough precision in the project to finish those out as needed. Lightning dodging x200 was demonstrated in a showcase in 2021.

very good run. You guys made a good team to make this TAS so fast given that's the only way it would be impressive since it's a computer basically.
At the time of this recording, it was almost all me, with some input/help from others who know the speedrun routes/strats. To put a number on it, it was more or less 95% my work, less than 5% other contributions. That has changed more recently, as others have been able to come in and refactor for best practices and other similar benefits.
