“You are the niche” and “Show up [and] create.” Those lines spoke to me. Had to pray yesterday to stop procrastinating on launching my IG. Not getting any responses since Aug. from churches I’ve emailed/called/left voicemail to follow up, whose websites mention they are doing antiracism work. It seems like in 2024, AR churches are more so theory than reality. 😔 It’s hit me again that my calling will be incredibly frustrating, because discussing prejudice et al. in the church isn’t a fun topic. I’m no longer motivated to do this calling, and a theologian told me I will have a really tough time finding allies in churches and to find allies in academia instead…Appreciate this video.

Q: In the 12 months you’ve been married, what advice would you give a couple (in their early 40s) who’ve been celibate since birth (no exaggeration) and who’ve done years of intense inner work with Christ and Christian therapy before they came together? Humans will never be perfect and I feel like no matter how much (intense) trauma work an emotionally & spiritually mature couple has done, and no matter how personal their relationship is with their Creator, something is bound to come up.

I guess I'll take this as confirmation as well, I deleted the app last night because I realized I was dead scrolling so much and the app was a distraction for me and I often left myself open to having to be validated by other people and the comparisons, yikes, so I felt led to be off of it 😅

I will say, I didn't have that great of an experience. While this is a Christian dating app, that doesn't necessarily mean that men on it are. I had a guy met on there that wasted my time 3 months. This isn't to say the app isn't good, it is, it's well intentioned, but just remember that it isn't so much where you go, because men that aren't true/honest are everywhere. At the end of the day, it's always best to trust God with the timing of meeting someone/your partner. There's billions of people in the world and I've found that a lot of men of a specific kind of mindset and personality tend to be on apps (and also on them for years and years). Regardless, I thought this was a beautiful video and thank you for sharing! Praying for discernment and relying on God should always come first. I do think it's possible to use apps with the intention of being aligned with God's timing and like you said, idolizing them is a part of the problem too. Holy is definitely better that the other apps I have used. A lot of guys I have encountered on the app, more so are trying to fit this image of being "a man of God" in their heads and aren't actually that. You have to be VERY careful with that on these apps. Loved the video though, I love seeing people talk about the app because it is pretty good!

I got on Holy after a month long fast. I met someone but the guy literally was not it (looked like it, sounded like it but definitely was not the man of God he was trying to portray) & guess what the day I had said let me just leave this app alone someone waved at me. Next thing you know we are on FT and talked for hours. The next day 4hrs of FT just sharing testimonies talking about the Lord etc. And before we hung up the man prayed over me….we are allowing ourselves to build a friendship & see where it goes. I literally said I’m only on Holy to be found & im like wow 🤯 we shall see what happens btw I found out about Holy because of you sis 🙏🏾

Good Lord. Thank you for sharing as God led you. I fell sort of like Joseph though. I believe God told me what He wants me to do but It’s not time yet. Idk if I gotta be thrown in pits and jail and what-not. Or like Moses, make a mistake trying to do my calling before the appointed time, that sends me to running away to a far land where I get married and learn a trade before I’m old as dirt and prepared to do this vision God gave me. I don’t know if I’m making excuses and running or if I’m where I’m supposed to be. But I’m growing in ways I always needed to, but didn’t have the environment or opportunity to do so until now.

Sister, I feel really embarrassed that in 12 years I didn’t put myself out there on a dating app since following Jesus. Should I have done so earlier? I always felt I needed to work on myself first. I’m now 41 and I’m so embarrassed xxxx

Thank you every time you come through. As an artist I’ve felt the same with algorithms etc it’s so draining and takes away from human to human connections. I’ve learned for me I wanted to be in person because I can see someone emotions and give hugs and or pray in person or receive blessings. I was also just posting random things at first and my heart wasn’t in it. Sis this is me CURRENTLY!!!! I moved to Texas in obedience and I’ve been here almost a month. The emotions that I’ve felt since I been here 😭 I feel bipolar in a sense. I’m ok one day and emotional the next. I keep asking God what’s next and he hasn’t said anything. I’ve said so many things out of frustration.. This is the hardest and most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever done! I even had thoughts of going back…. I’m living out of a suitcase literally in a Airbnb until January. I know this is what he wanted me to do and I know he’s with me it’s just now that I’m here I’m anxious to know the next step. One Saturday I was out going to a car wash and I pulled over because I needed to roll up my windows and spit and I looked to the left and there was a car parked and it had Jeremiah 29:11 in the window. I didn’t immediately know which bible verse it was but I took a picture of it because I knew it was significant that I saw it. I looked it up later as I driving and immediately started crying 🥹 I pray for strength, patience and peace daily as I continue to wait for God to move on my behalf

This is crazy! The day that I left to move to Texas I saw a YT video titled “It’s time to go Rebekah” she said that my move was tied to my marriage. When I heard you mention the YT in the video I immediately went back to her page to see if it was the same video. I know you moved a few years ago so I searched through her videos and didn’t see any video with that title except the one she posted last month. Wow, to think we saw a video with the same message posted by different people around the time that we moved is crazy

I have had male friends that weren’t Christians. Do you think God uses them as well? I have been a bit confused on if they liked me more than a friend, but it was never communicated from me or the other person. But I can say that the friendships meant a lot at the time.
