The whole Charleston area has become over populated and the politicians just keep giving out building permits so they can line their own pockets! It was not like this back in the 1980s on back. They are destroying the reason people come to Charleston in the first place!

Stay the hell out of SC period! There's a house everywhere I look now. The places I use to hunt, fish, ride bikes climb trees and have fun in general are all developments now. The traffic sucks. I have a foreign accent in my own hometown! Go somewhere else please!!

I hope the humid heat and termites scare more people from moving here. When it takes 40-50 minutes to drive 9 miles to work, the population is to great for the area.

Any recommendations for a spot on the water that isn't too pricy?

It is nice for an October visit. Unbearably hot from May thru September. It's the buckle of the bible belt. Its STILL very very racist and there are pockets of KKK. Rent for a decent one bedroom apartment will be $1200. If you have to ask the cost of a home, you cant afford it. It's stuck in the past and far from progressive even though there's a massive influx of people moving here. Did i mention that it's unbearably hot and humid to the point that it's exhausting to breathe? The pockets of neighborhood walkability mentioned are absolutely overpriced? Again, you cant afford to live here. Mount Pleasant, where i used to live, is laughingly called Mount Plastic, unless you live there and need to shop at Trader Joe's and Whole Paycheck. I've made mistakes in life, as we all have. The biggest was moving here and thinking i would be embraced by the quaint Southern hospitality. You won't be. You're, unless you are 4th generation Charlestonian, going to be referred to as "from off," meaning you're an outsider and will never be a part of. Don't be fooled by the "Bless your heart." It's not a blessing. It's a snide snarky Southern insult.

Nothing about the flooding and beach erosion?😮

I hope all tra splants from the north decide to move out of the south. If you werent born here its not going to be your paradise.

Im disliking this video because the title was click baity and misleading. The title says AVOID MOVING TO SC but in the video she says SC is great and is not discouraging people from moving here. Also, the ten reasons where also extremely obvious generic and obvious like it's hot or there's hurricanes.

I grew up here. It gets over 100 degrees??? Duh!!!! It’s hot. Always has been always will be. It floods, it’s well below sea level. If you buy a home you might need flood insurance if you can get it. This is all elementary science and geography 101. BTW a CL 100 is mandatory if you are getting a loan.

The "CHARM" quotient has all but totally DISAPPEARED here. It's more like a hustling and bustling perpetual city wide construction project which also encompasses all surrounding areas. Can you say the word TRAFFIC??????? There are no "good times" to leave your house to avoid it, so don't get any ideas in your head along those lines either. P.S. The ocean temperature in the summer here maintains a steady 85 degrees or more.

100% do not recommend moving to Charleston.

Enjoy spending 2 hours in traffic too and from work everyday. You better live right next to where you work. Also you could buy a 500,000 dollar house next to a run down gang area. Your realtor is not allowed to mention this

Don't do it. It's overcrowded and too expensive.

I moved from CT to Southern SC and I'll take 90 over 10 any day lol. Also VERY little cloudy and rainy days are a massive improvement over the NE area, that can see rain for days sometimes.

You did an outstanding job of presenting the pros/cons of all of these suburbs. I truly appreciate your attention to details. Would it be possible for you to do a video on dog-friendly beaches and activities in the region? I will be relocating to South Carolina and recently had my professional license as a Child/Adolescent Clinical Trauma Therapist approved. Being near dog-friendly beaches and resources are one of my top priorities. Love your videos!

I have been here 10 years. I wish my husband woukd have told me about the traffic. I have never lived in a city of this size and population that only has ONE HIGHWAY! I understand one of the reasons is because it's on a peninsula. And for Charleston to be such a huge tourist destination, shopping and entertainment sucks here. No real mall. No zoo, waterpark, or amusement park. Music artist don't come here for concerts. And when they do, it's a week night. Parking downtown and at the beaches is the worst. But being just a few hours from ATL, Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Jacksonville, Orlando and Savannah means that zoos, shopping, concerts, and such are not too far away.

COULD YOU TELL US IF THERE ARE CDD FEES ON TOP OF THE HOA FESS AND WHICH ONES ARE THOSE ALONG WITH THEIR CURRENT PRICES OR COSTS.....

Don't, way to many people in a small area, congestion, high costs, please don't move there!

If you can afford it, Mount Pleasant is the most desirable area.
