its the same with west Germans and other small team units, it comes down to how to get the most out of them. i find that with decent cover and dug in small team are hard to shift, hence the use of dual nonas in this list.

it's so you have access to cheap mortars and nonas with in the formation, while one big blob of infantry are good it's kind of putting your eggs in one basket for infantry. while bmp3 does have some nice stats the bmd2s work out to be cheaper in the long run.

@@forwarnedforarmed220 I recently ordered enough to make French VBL recon formation. Iam likely expanding to make a full French force, but I got thinking I could use it to add 3 Milan 2 VBLs into a Swedish list. Only 12 points for the minimum size of that formation with Milans.

its a good option, as it allows you to concentrate on other elements. however milan2 is still hopping for a 1 against leo2a5s, viggens are the better option or try to get to their flanks with centurions

I find the fins, a bit of a hard one to rate as its unique to them, while its a good tank for them id put in the same category as t72b or 1 higher based of the skill and range as it allows you to blitz and use range to engage other similar class tanks. it is also a good QRF tank for the fins and as well as bumping up pts for sweeds for use for reserves.

Infantry are one part of the equation, as you will notice most of the list I do are based of combined arms. These means they are built around a core formation, which in most case is infantry with support elements. You can still play with tanks, however French are in a hard spot with their tanks ether because they are not the best or too many pts

@@forwarnedforarmed220 I did notice that and I can completely understand the reasoning for focusing on infantry, best cost for output. That said, I was looking to get into this game to have tank focused battles, and it's sad to see that it's not very competitive.

You can still have tank focused lists, for e.g leo1 lists are very viable. However, the French are more infantry focused for comp play as the tanks they have available are not up to standard, the AMX 30 has poor cross and moving rof compared to other tanks in its category and while the Leclerc is a great tank it is just too expensive to make a pure list of it for comp. For a new player French are a hard nation to start out on, which is why i recommend ether US or brits.

If it was V1, I would agree with you, but with all the new added ATGM weapons readily available in V2 I Don't see a place for them on the comp scene when the T72b is a much better tank, especially for Warpact

T72M for the Czechs are still relevant i believe. The discounted price AT 21 platform with range and it can be spamed for the Czechs

The ASU is a poor tank, it can only be found in 2 formations, can not be taken as black box, does not have the cross, a poor weapon as it AT is 14 and heat, a single leo2 could defeat 10 of them. on the other hand a leo2 can be a 1 drop reserve unit can plug gaps, assault infantry and has the skill, cross and tac move to get in and out of danger.

@@forwarnedforarmed220 for the role it fills for being dirt cheap and A rating it’s filling a T-55 role except even cheaper and double the shots it’s designed to counter nato Leo 1’s for the money. Any Pact player would agree

I will have to strongly disagree, these are the reasons why, 1. it's the same prices as T55 which are far superior to the ASU and they can do any role. 2. the ASU is only good on the turn it ambushes; from there it is easily countered. why it's a one trick pony. 3. most soviet players favour horde style tactics for tournaments which is why you will hardly see them in use in tournaments. 4. it's only available to VDV formations. 5. look at the kanonpanzerjager for West Germans which is much better on paper but has draw backs being a support choice similar to the ASU which just beats it for the ranking. 6. It has a AT 14 heat gun which is useless against most tanks, yes it may be ROF2 which is why its not an F. 7. to rate it an A you have to compare it to every other tank and I don't see it beating any of the d class tanks. 8. Its forward firing which can easily be countered and flack by leo1 which have a better range, skill and cross to manoeuvrer over terrain. 9. most pact players if faced with choosing between ASU and T55 for the same pts will pick the T55

It was a tough match for the Swedish. I don't think a defending would have held off the attack of the leo2a5s due to them not having anything that could hurt them from the front. ASs for the mine's placement could have been more on the objectives however, it still wouldn't have help against the amount of Dutch on the field. For reserve's this mission is a tricky one as they come on too far away to do damage at the time. we did go over so future list builds off camera that may come up latter in another bat rep.

so to answer your questions 1. you do have NZ available, however this is for a competitive build, secondly the book labels them as ANZAC in the new Nato book. 2. the Lav formation works best as a mobile force, hence the 2 formations build.

@@forwarnedforarmed220 Hmm OK. The only "Team Yankee" I'm aware of is the book, so this is all new to me and was trying the reconcile what your presented with a Cbt Brigade structure.

This is a list for the miniatures game, which was originally based of the book, however started to gain momentum and is now its own fictional events.

So in this game the vdv player was fighting with 32pts down till the last turn, when reserves showed up by this time the dutch did not have enough to secure the objective. Dutch may look strong however the skill lets them down in crucial moments.

and a couple of new starters to go along with the new plastic infantry.

the reason for there being no list as i was asked not to disclose them by my opponent as this was practice for an upcoming tournament. I will try to get some close-up shots for you next time.

The sound is also very difficult - picking up all the conversations of other players in the room and an annoying hum.

I need specialised equipment for that as the audio I have will pick up surround, I will try to filter it more in the future.
