SOMA Lyra-8 with an Elektron Analog Heat MKII (no talking)
An 8-minute sinister jam with the SOMA Lyra-8 running through an Elektron Analog Heat MKII with a touch of the Valhalla Shimmer reverb added in Ableton. Apologies for the crummy video quality, it was recorded under less than ideal lighting conditions.

Astra geostationary satellites through telescope
มุมมอง 88K13 ปีที่แล้ว
This video shows various Astra geostationary satellites moving along their orbital paths. Two clusters (constellations) consisting of 5 and respectively 6 satellites can be seen as well as a lone sat undergoing an eclipse. The satellites featured in the video are Astra 1F, 1G, 1H, 1KR, 1L, 1M, and 2C. All the images and videos were recorded using a 150mm (6") f/5 telescope and a Canon 350D DSLR.

This is a video of the Astra 2C geostationary satellite showing its path along the sky during a three hour period. The sudden disappearance and reappearance at the end of the video is caused by the satellite moving into the shadow of the earth for a couple of minutes. This is called a geostationary eclipse and occurs twice a year during a month or so period. The video animation is composed of 8...

And it’s suppose to be around 8700 satellite’s orbiting the earth How come we then only see the space station iss so clear but nothing more ?

      The Analog Heat is a great match to the Lyra. The filters of the AH really help taming the raw sound of the Lyra. In my opinion the Lyra needs an external filter because the raw output sounds a little too harsh to my ears. The various saturation modes of the AH also work very well with the Lyra. I very much recommend getting one :)

    According to Google - The International Space Station travels in orbit around Earth at a speed of roughly 17,150 miles per hour (that's about 5 miles per second!). This means that the Space Station orbits Earth (and sees a sunrise) once every 92 minutes! And people are attempting to make us believe that they can follow the ISS at that speed? HA!! This is nothing but cartoons.

  • @MilanKarakas
    @MilanKarakas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't believe how much returded people commented down below about flat earth, drones and balloons. Geostationary satellites will remain 'still', only if there is no moon that periodically (every 24 hours or so) tug on those satellites - moving them slightly away. Then satellites fire thrusters to compensate that. But once back in position, it should to slow down motion by firing thrusters in opposite directions, and this cycles repeats. Such motion is relatively narrow in comparison with receiving satellite dishes on ground. About visibility: if earth cast shadow, they are not visible. Late evening and early morning is the best time to observe _any_ satellites. About signal strength from geostationary satellites: they have one or more parabolic antennas (on satellite) that are directed to specific area on the earth. About bandwidth: someone commented that it is not possible to transmit HD videos. That is not true. At 10 GHz, which is typical for those transmission, there is sufficient bandwidth for HD and UHD, probably with some compression. About geostationary balloons: it is just proposal to built them to provide broadband internet access for countries that has no access to that. It is still in experimental phase.

    Little hard to know those are satellites at that distance, be drones in the ionosphere also. Supposedly; It does not take much to see or image them, buses at 23,000 miles. And It's orbital characteristics tells it's distance. And ground triangulation says the distance. The brightness confirms the size. Seen a toaster sized at 250 miles, called Flock....?

    • @my3dviews

      You can see them with a telescope because they are bright compared to the black background. You can't see the actual size of the object. It is like seeing a lightbulb in the dark from several miles away. You can't actually see the size of the bulb, just the intense light as a pinpoint against the black background.

    *Nice footage, thank you!* *Very sad to see so many stupid comments from people who have zero understanding of how things really work, but are super arrogant about their ability to "think independently."* Try to install a satellite dish once! You will quickly find out where it *really* points -- instead of repeating *STUPID LIES* that FE channels are spreading here left and right! The dish pointing charts or calculators only work because they use *correct geometry* of the problem and *correct parameters* for the satellite orbit. It all agrees with boring trigonometry, if you really care to check. Change anything -- shape of the Earth, height of the satellite orbit, and there is no way to make it work for all locations across the continent -- *_if you want the dish to work in practice!_* (The signal comes from 35,786 km above equator -- towers, balloons and troposcatter do not give anywhere near the right altitude of the signal source!) That is the rub -- if you want things to work, you have to actually do things right and to really know stuff, not just bullshit!
