They updated the server since this particular video and turned off some things. For now, you will have to open the in-game menu and find the teleport button to warp out of that instance. You'll have to warp from area to area since they turned off seamless zones, too. To view most of the cutscenes, you need to find the Unending Journey book and play them there. You can manually warp to the book using the command !warp 244 0 0 0 (that should be the zone if I remember correctly). If you have trouble let me know

@childishmemebino6462 I'll do my best to help you if I can. I'm not sure why the teleport menu isn't working for you....that's very weird. I'm just a fan of the project, so I don't know much about it. But if you are unable to get out of the starting instance, I'll install the server again and see if I can help. Did you build the server yourself or find a prebuilt one somewhere?

@darkfuseion I'll have to double check when I'm not at work, but I had an ioncannon folder compiled by SlerpLeDerp, but I'm also going to try the one you compiled from your video instead and see if that works! Everything boots up fine I'm just oddly softlocked in the starting areas with lua errors when i try teleporting or talking to quest NPCs!

Slerp is in the discord, and I think he added some missions and other things to his build, so that may be the issue. Idk anything about coding, so my server will just be whatever project meteor provided back then.

Yes it's a command. Might try !giveitem and if you want the armor item numbers you will need to find the table in heidisql that has the items, then go through the list. If you still have problems, just let me know.

The exe files are in their own folders. Look in Lobby, Map and World folders then go to bin folder and release or debug and find the exe there. The shortcuts broke for some reason. Just ignore them or right click and make new shortcuts from the exes.

I don't know how much they have working (I'm just a fan), but I know quests do work, but not sure how many. Last time I tried, combat worked, but it was definitely not right, so I'd not expect combat to be working properly still, but I don't really follow the project closely anymore.

Anyone is welcome to re-upload this stuff, and I encourage it, actually. I'm just a fan of the project. If someone wants to make a torrent and share it, I'm fine with it. Even if you made your own video with the files/torrent, I'd be ok with it. I just don't torrent like I used to a long time go. But please, do share this. My health isn't too great, and I may eventually stop re-uploading the files anyway. Share it everywhere you want. I hope someone takes the files and goes and makes better videos, too. My videos are a mess, lol.

Ok I figured it out, I had to point to the boot folder and not just my XIV folder in general. Now it's crashing every time i launch, it'll hang there for a few seconds then crash. I did a dxdiag and it says I only have 4 cores, I also tried changing the affinity and only selecting a few CPU's, only one CPU, all but one and it still crashes almost instantly.

Ok an update to the update, I couldn't figure out the issue BUT this guide *doesn't* mention that if you do this than you can't actually play regular XIV without reinstalling the game. I tried to and the vanilla launcher just crashes and the dalamud launcher gives me an error "essential game files have been altered/broken so the game can neither update nor launch, please reinstall. So if you plan to do this, do it on a computer that you do not regularly play xiv on or you will have to uninstall and reinstall the game every time.

I'll get my laptop and see if I can figure out what's going on. I don't remember ffxiv 1.0 installing in steam apps folder. Are you using 1.0 client or retail client, they are different. I don't play retail, but Seventh Umbral won't patch retail client. Anyways I'm going to go back and read your comments, and I'll try to help. Just letting you know I have seen your comments, and I'll do my best to help. I could be wrong here too since I don't play retail but the retail client shouldn't bother the 1.0 client since Seventh Umbral points 1.0 client to your server and shouldn't affect retail client files at all. I don't play retail so I can't confirm.

@@darkfuseion thanks! I'm using retail I think? It's whatever version steam downloaded lol. The video didn't say I'd need a 1.0 client, when the seventh umbral launcher asked where the game was installed I pointed it to my xiv folder and it patched. Do I need a special 1.0 client?

@cvance2387 Yes, you will need the 1.0 client. It's a completely different game from retail. You should be able to find it on archive.org but if you can't find it let me know

I'm not at my pc right at the moment, but make sure you have Wamp running. If you are unable to log in to your database (heidisql), then you may not have wamp running. Nothing will work if wamp is not running. Let me know if you tried that and we will figure this out one way or another. Also if you are using the shortcuts (if you didn't build the server yourself) I made to launch the 3 servers, the shortcuts themselves stopped working for some reason. You can go into your Lobby, map, and world server folders then head to bin folder, then to release folder and find the .exe (lobby server.exe) and launch them manually. I made shortcuts for fun so just go into the 3 folders and launch from the .exe file instead

So I've been thinking about this more. If the 3 servers are closing instantly, I'd guess there may have been an issue when building your servers in Visual Studio, and they probably need to be built again. Did you get any errors when building? Here is a video I made going through the whole build. There is a particular part that was left out of the Project Meteor wiki page that I covered at 10:23 in the video. It shouldn't be the reason your servers are crashing instantly but may fix a known issue after creating a character. Anyways, you may need to change your Net Framework to 4.7.2 and your Mysql to 8.0.31. But if I had to guess, it sounds like your servers were just built wrong, and that's causing the crashes. I have a link in the description to the server I built so you can try that if manually building isn't working for you. Anyways, here is the video and the part that was left out of the wiki. Final Fantasy 11 launch was my first mmorpg. Farming Gil took long enough in that game but also didn't have armor repairs to worry about. I'd purchase Gil from RMT Gil sellers in FF11 to make things go faster. I just didn't want to deal with any of that again in FF14 1.0. The game overall was pretty terrible anyways and most computers couldn't run it well, including mine, so that was just another reason I quit, and there was no auto attack when I was playing it. But current FFXIV is fine. I don't play it anymore either, but it was better than 1.0 imo.

I don't know how to do it either and haven't ever tried, but I gotta have friends first, I guess, lol. Here's some tips you might try that I saw on the discord (they didn't give details) You need to port forward Lobby, World, and your webserver for public IPs. You need to adjust the Servers table in MySQL/MariaDB. You need to adjust your servers.xml file. They purposely didn't document how to open the server to the public (that I know of) on their wiki. So, unfortunately, I won't be much help either because I honestly don't know how to do it. Hopefully, the above will help you, though. If you have more questions, I'll still try to help if I can. You may also need to edit the ip address in your lobby and map config.ini files in the server folder and possibly the world server config file, too. I'm just taking guesses here, though.

@darkfuseion Hey, I appreciate the reply! Yeah, that all seems a bit too much for me lol. (I understand port forwarding at least XD) The only reason I was able to get this setup in the first place was because of the guide. Though, if someone else were to host their own I'd love to connect to it. ^^ (Since I'd believe connecting is simpler than hosting) I also recall the Seventh Umbral launcher website once had a server that people could connect to, but it's been down for years :(

Here's my best guess, it might help. Open Heidisql, go down to Servers table and open it. Make sure you are on the data tab and change the address to your external ip, then save changes. The servers.xml file is in the Seventh Umbral Launcher install folder. Edit the xml file in notepad and change the ip address (external ip) and save. Since you know how to portforward, it would just be a matter of finding the ports for Lobby, World (don't need Map) and webserver (wamp server maybe) and forward them. It's mentioned that you don't need to forward the SQL (assuming its Mariadb/heidisql?) server. Also, I don't know how to find these ports. A quick Google search would probably solve that. Maybe something like Wireshark would give you the port numbers. Lastly you might mess around with the config files for map, lobby, and world servers. So they would be in your server folder in the bin > release or debug folder then find the config.ini and edit it in notepad and change either the ip address or the host ip address and do it for all 3 configs, maybe. You will just have to experiment, but that's my best guess without ever trying it myself.

It's been awhile since I messed with the server (I'm just a fan) but off the top of my head I'd say to check and make sure all 3 servers are up and running and in the launcher set expansion to ARR or Heavensward or it may not login and something else to check might be where your character last logged out or where the game crashed if it did. If you warp to an area past Heavensward, the game may crash, and the server may remember that as your login position and keep timing out when you try to log back in. To fix that, you would probably need to head to your database Heidisql and go find the table showing your character position and manually change it there. If you still can't figure it out, let me know again, and I'll try to help. Or you can visit the wiki homepage, and they should have a discord link somewhere at the top or scroll down on the welcome page and there should be a link. sapphire.xiv.dev/

I was looking through my notes again and saw this. If you can't log back in try "git revert 364c304d4a789dc3ab115078487d789aeeb670a8" in the Sapphire directory by opening a cmd prompt or PowerShell window. I remember them mentioning there was a login error once upon a time and that may fix it. You may need to rebuild the server afterwards but honestly I can't remember but run that git revert command and then close and reopen servers and try to login again.

I'm only guessing here, but I bet it's possible to play with friends if you build a server, but I wouldn't know how to do it. Also, there isn't much that works on the server. Combat doesn't really work yet, and there are no enemies, and I doubt any missions work either. Setting your public ip address into the server may allow your friends to join, but I wouldn't know how to test it.

This is the only way I know how to do it. Head over to your client cutscene folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV\client\cut) Make sure you back up any files you swap or you will have to reinstall the client to get them back if you lose them. Next head down to your "man50250" folder in the cutscene folder and then copy the "man50250" file inside that folder. Next head up to your "man0l000" folder and paste "man50250" file inside the man0l000 folder. Rename the man50250 file to man0l000 and overwrite it but remember to back up any files you overwrite or you can move them to a different folder first. Next go to your Unending Journey again (you don't need to close the client during any of this if you have it in window mode) and load Shapeless Melody Cutscene 1 and it should play the Titan video. Man0l000 is your Shapless Melody Cutscene 1 folder. If you want to watch other videos, just repeat the process. I was browsing their Discord, and from what I could find, it seems like it's been done before but would require a really old version of their server and mentioned it was a pain to do. I get the impression they don't have the server setup to support PS3 anymore, but on their website, it shows PS4 support. Honestly, I really don't know, though. Here is their site. Things in life are just getting rough, so I'm sure someday I'll probably have to let go of monitoring the links. So, reup and share if you like. I don't follow the project anymore, so idk what version of server they are on, but so long as they don't require a client update anytime soon, it should be good if you ever update the server.
